Baldur is an uncial TrueType font with elements of late Roman manuscript lettering. The font includes both upper- and lowercase letters, numbers, punctuation and miscellaneous mapping symbols.

Monolina is a contemporary monolinear script that is based on the contrast between classical (beautiful) calligraphy and quickly jotted manuscript (sketches). As all styles are based on the single stroke of a round nib pen, the letter is rounded. The typeface features two sets of capital and curly uppercase letters, swash characters and alternative lowercase letters, which combine well in three styles. The font also features swash figures and decimal figures for writing years and summer sales. Accent marks for all languages using Latin letters, currency symbols and punctuation marks are included. The typeface comes across as fresh as is particularly effective at headline point sizes.

Gábor Kóthay in Hungary has developed an archaic identity largely based upon lettering from a rare Type Specimen of the Jesuit Academy Press of Tyrnavia (1773). They have developed many baroque style typefaces of Hungarian derivation. Gábor wanted an authentic handwriting revival from that age as well. La Danse is a 'facsimile' font, based on the manuscript of an inventory found in the original Tyrnavia specimen. The manuscript was written in an archaic Latin alphabet therefore some modern interpretations have been inserted.

Amulet evolved after a trip to Dublin, Ireland. It has a Celtic calligraphic influence which must have subconsciously come from looking at ancient manuscripts and the Book of Kells in Trinity College.

Diamond Jim JNL was inspired [in part] by an image of a 1970s Letraset® dry transfer typeface made entirely of small stars. By creating his own layout using tiny diamond shapes, Jeff Levine has produced a font that takes on multiple appearances. At 24 point it resembles dot matrix printing; at 48 point the diamonds are clearly visible; and overall, the design has a distinctive 70s retro feel. Limited character set.

Slipstream font was developed by Letraset Type Studio in response to the growing need to convey competence and speed through typography. It is based on an italic sans serif letterform and its horizontal lines look like streaks left behind letters speeding to the right. Characters can be slightly overlapped for small spaces without losing this feeling of movement. Slipstream font is ideal for service-oriented advertisements, especially where efficiency and quick service should be emphasized.

Music Sheets is a font that will produce blank music manuscript sheets, giving the main Clefs, Time Signatures, Stafflines, Guitar Tab, plus other useful symbols - in fact all you need to make simple manuscript of your own design, so you can put in the notation yourself. You can use it with ordinary Word Processors or top-end graphics programs equally easily. Using it is extremely simple - for instance into the text-box below type TBA for Treble Bass Alto Clefs, or 234567 for the basic Time Signatures from 2/4 up to 7/4, or L for the Lines. Essentially it’s a cut-down and slightly modified version of our Blank Manuscript font, (which is fairly comprehensive for more advanced scoresheets but obviously a bit more complex) and uses a similar intuitive method for inputting characters. There’s plenty of examples provided, plus a short guide explaining the character layout, which is extremely easy. Some years ago, a good friend and typophile, Gonzalo García Barcha, approached me with the idea of designing a typeface for his editorial project Blacamán Ediciones. He had just came across an hitherto unknown manuscript by Luis Lagarto, a colonial illuminator and scribe, working in Mexico City and Puebla in the late 1500s. The manuscript calligraphy was incredible and stunningly original. It featured three different hands by the scribe, intermingled in the text: a kind of baroque «Roman» roundhand; a very ornate, lively «Italic»; and some sort of irregular, playful, even funny «small caps». All imbued with an eccentric, convoluted zest and vivacious rhythm. Lagarto is the final result of translating these extraordinary hands into a digital type family. Since the manuscript had no numerals, math signs and many other characters now in use, part of the fun of the job was to infer them from the stylistic peculiarities of Luis Lagarto's calligraphy. Lagarto received an Award of Excellence at the Type Directors Club of New York annual competition.

Timenhor is a Latin-script font whose glyphs are based on the uncial letterforms of Coptic manuscripts. Timenhor is compliant with Unicode encoding and has an extended character set, supporting Celtic and Eastern European languages. It has both regular and italic styles.

Melts Script from Estudio Calderón is a typeface based on Harlow Solid SB from Colin Brignall. It is made by round traces, with a simple design and a slightly “chubby” look. We wanted to propose a new version that works as an alternative of Harlow Solid, with connectors at the same heightand a complementary Font “Melts Sanscript” with sans serif capitals to be combined with lowercase scripts. Specimen Supporting 219 latin based languages, which are spoken in 212 countries. Psssss....It includes alternatives, swashes, ligatures and a version called Glint Glint, especially designed for those who want to highlight their works.

The Farfa fonts were designed for institutional use, commissioned by the City of Fara in Sabina, Italy. This project started from the study of the manuscripts found in the Abbey of Farfa, penned in a variant of the lower case of “Carolingian” typical style of that area. The Capital, ligatures and Small Caps, however, are based on the uncial writing that often appears in those codes and manuscripts. Farfa Abbey is a territorial abbey in northern Lazio, central Italy. It is one of the most famous abbeys of Europe. It belongs to the Benedictine Order and is located about 60 km from Rome, in the commune of Fara Sabina The origin of the Abbey is still unknown. Archaeological discoveries seem to prove that the first monastic establishment was built on the ruins of a pagan temple. The Vandals destroyed the first monastery in the fifth century. Only a few documents from the sixth-century prove the early presence of the monastic community. It had the heritage of Charlemagne (S VIII), the Lombard chiefs, and later the Carolingians, succeeded in withdrawing Farfa from obedience to the Bishops of Rieti, and in securing many immunities and privileges for the monastery. Farfa was at this period the most important monastery in Italy both from the point of view of worldly possession and ecclesiastical dignity.

Horndon is a decorative revival of late art nouveau style typefaces. The robust, high waist forms of these letters lend a unique, early 20th Century feeling of optimism to text designed with them. The letterforms themselves have adapted a three dimensional appearance: they each sport an individual drop shadow. Horndon is an all caps typeface, which was originally designed in 1984 by Martin Wait for Letraset. A similar art nouveau typeface, Galadriel, is also available from Linotype."

Playing with old rub-on letters led to this alphabet. On the Letraset sheets (the older ones still remember...) there were always letters left over that were never or rarely used. I sometimes let interns play with it. To explain, I first rubbed an example myself. Two y's from a Helvetica made a pretty shape. Looking closely, you see a contoured, italic N. I developed the HGB Ypsilon font from this N. A purely decorative typeface – it could be interesting for some logo.

XPhyngern is a collection of pointing fingers taken from a variety of sources. Some come from the 19th century, when there were a great many used. Others are based on fingers I found in reproductions of medieval manuscripts. If you need a interesting pointing finger, try this typeface.

Uppsala is a new and original uncial typeface designed by Paul Shaw in collaboration with Garrett Boge in 1998. Its strongly chiseled shapes were inspired by historical northern European manuscript lettering. The face is appropriate for short text or display settings. Uppsala is part of the LetterPerfect Swedish Set

Cabazon is an informal blackletter inspired by handlettering samples from many sources, and various time periods. Works by Rudolf Koch and Friedrich Heinrichsen are reflected, as well as the work of showcard lettering artists Ross George and Samuel Welo. Medieval manuscript samples were also helpful in developing this style.

The story of Humana begins with an exclusive volume about some manuscripts in Biblioteca Palatina in Parma, Italy. The title page uses the characters upon which I designed Humana. I suppose they were drawn for that volume. Examining the reproductions in the book I found that the characters on the title page immitate the lettering in a manuscript from the 15th century with Petrarca's Rime volgari". Not bad as origin! But I cannot free myself from the thought that there may be a typeface with that looks, not just a few characters drawn for that volume. My reference books could not give me any answer about that. The name Humana refers to the humanistic era from which the characters originate. Humana was released in 1994.

This quirky little number is based on a typeface originally named Turtle, which made a very brief appearance in Letraset's product line catalog in the 1970s. Admittedly, its uses are limited, but its cryptic and playful nature will reward those with imagination. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.
