An eccentric rebel with ribbon-like moves, a balanced extrovert that makes meticulous use of ink traps. Both the name and design got inspiration from mountain peaks. "Cumbre" in Spanish means summit, and that's the motive for the spiked design and the angular serrated structure. Cumbre is built by balancing sharp angles and venturous curves. The stems are spiky, and they vary in width. Cumbre is slanted and unicase. It has condensed proportions, moderate weight contrast, spacious counters, pointy terminals, and square ink traps. Cumbre is meant for large display settings to make the most out of the precise outlines and the clean intersections. The font styles: 'Sharp' has straight paths and precise intersections. 'Round' has the same outlines but with round corners. 'Stamp' has irregular wavy contours and heavy swelling at intersections.

Inspired by the strange, blocky lettering on the sides of a set of a set of plastic kitchen containers in my childhood home, 8th Avenue is a sophisticated, somewhat syncopated font with a retro look and feel that at the same time brings a very modern attitude to your design. 8th Avenue works well as display font for packaging, headlines and logos. Those pastel turquoise plastic boxes from the early 1950s, with white screen printed letters reading FLOUR, SUGAR, COFFEE etc. on one side were a simple quiet presence in our home back then and for decades after. Seeing them, even that soft blue-green colour felt like home. SUGAR, the soul survivor of that set has become one of those mundane items of daily life that somehow become simple icons of another time, ripe with memories. Obviously I had to make a font. Conga Brava is the work of type designer Michael Harvey, a combination of the high-minded, purist letterforms of revivalist, modern calligraphers with the mundane, even crude, lettering of warehouse stenciling. The resulting lyrical yet utilitarian forms have a visually exciting graphic effect, which Harvey has frequently used in his book jacket designs. Like his other typefaces, Ellington, Strayhorn, and Mezz, Harvey named his design after a jazz classic, Conga Brava", by Duke Ellington and his trombonist Juan Tizol. The rolling rhythm, polished swing, and stacatto brass treatment of the tune suits the look of this sassy roman design and even more so, its stencil mate. When you need a typeface that radiates sound and motion, think Conga Brava."

The term "transcribed" takes on many definitions. In sheet music (the source of this type face design) it means to set down onto paper. In the formative days of radio, and until the advent of the tape recorder, radio stations depended on 16 inch wide recordable discs known as transcriptions. These discs were generally aluminum base with a soft lacquer coating that was cut with a heated stylus. This was the only way a program could be recorded and preserved for later broadcast or copied for syndication. Transcribed JNL is a hand lettered sans in the chamfer style of block lettering, based on vintage sheet music displaying the name and address for Zenith Music Publications.

CamingoMono is a modern monospaced typeface family of seven weights with matching italics, from ExtraLight to Black. Sagarana is an elegant display typeface rooted in the style of romantic or didones letterforms; however, it is a sans serif with a cleaner appearance. The contrast and the vertical stress maintain the modern style, while the terminals, the finials, the proportions and the narrow look enhance its stylish personality. It could be suitable for editorial projects such as magazines, books or even for sophisticated environments, let’s say, fashion, department store, perfumes, cosmetics and so on. Sagarana was initially inspired by a Brazilian book cover from 50’s. The name itself combines the words “saga” (as in the English sense of “story”) and “rana,” a Tupi word (Indigenous language) that roughly means “showing similarities”.

Pill Gothic walks the tightrope between a heads down, hard working, utilitarian sans and something that stands out, saying, "Look at me!" Designers looking for a type that will work in blocks of text for callouts, captions and headlines will find that unique balance with Pill. Pill Gothic asks the question: what is the effect of a few truly unique characters on the meaning of a type? In particular, the 'a' and the 'g', while relating strongly to the forms of the other characters, stand out from the traditional milieu of sans serif types. The name Pill Gothic came from early studies of the condensed weight where the lower case characters had the shape of a pill capsule.

FinalSix is the typographic adaptation of a lettering. Working on the graphic image for a sports event (the European Waterpolo Final in 2014) we had the idea of creating a character set that reflected the idea of the undulating movement of water in a pool. In practice, we draw characters with rounded tops, bottoms and diagonals and using the word WATERPOLO as a visual reference for a wavy feeling, in a process that we could define as “form follows meaning.” To preserve its personality as much as possible, the most idiosyncratic characters are found in the Default set, while we can find more standardized variations for editorial use in a Stylistic set.

Dream Within a Dream was the title of exhibition of Czech art inspired by the work of Edgar Allan Poe curated by Otto M Urban and Veronika Hulíková. Three dozens of artists exhibited their works in the Czech National Gallery in 2020. The cataloguje was printed with the use of the present typeface. Artists took significant interest in Poe's literary oeuvre only after the writer's untimely death. This was mainly thanks to the poet Charles Baudelaire who translated Poe's works to French. As early as in the second half of the 19th century, prominent artists such as Edouard Manet, Odilon Redon, James Ensor and Gustave Doré created remarkable artworks inspired by Poe. Although the first Czech translations of Poe's woks date to the 1850s, artworks inspired by them only appeared several decades later, at the turn on the 20th century. Poe's poems and short stories inspired František Kupka and soon after him, Josef Váchal, Jan Konůpek and František Kobliha. Alfred Kubin, a German artist born in Bohemia, made illustrations for the German translation of Poe's collected stories. Later on, Alén Diviš and František Tichý created further Poe-inspired artworks. Poe was a source of inspiration for Jan Švankmajer and more recently, František Štorm and Jaroslav Róna.

This rollicking romp through the alphabet is based on an offering from the irrepressible M. Draim, seen in La Lettre dans le Décor & la Publicité Modernes, published by Monrocq Frères of Paris in 1932. Its animated and friendly demeanor will add personality to any headline it graces. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.
