FreeDee is a re-draw of some experimental lettering first drawn during A-Level (just after high-school) art and design studies. It was originally purely self initiated, and one of the first things I used Illustrator to draw. This version takes the original handful of letters and extrapolates a full alphabet with basic latin accents.

Alphabet Agency presents Elite Sport Distressed, a super bold sans serif font design for use in extreme sport, combat sport and fitness themes. The 1920 edition of “How to Paint Signs and Sho’ Cards” by E. C. Matthews offered a number of examples of then-modern lettering styles for sign painters and show card writers. Shaman is the work of British designer Phill Grimshaw and you can almost hear the drums beating when you see it. It is a bold display typeface that features a unique, fractured effect and evokes a somehow primitive quality. Shaman is an all caps alphabet which comes complete with spot illustrations, graphic devices and a border system.

Woodbranch JNL is a solid version of the 2013 font release Woodlawn JNL. The design was originally based on examples of an outline (open face) wood type. This interpretation takes on newer, stronger characteristics as a bold typeface when the "inner letters" of the original alphabet were removed, yet the imperfection of the wood type pieces are still maintained.

HOLBORN Aptly named after ‘High Holborn’, a high-street in London where the Central School of Art & Design was based. A font, just in capitals, based on the original design and the earlier sketches (1976) by André Toet. The strong optical illusion in this alphabet makes it an outstanding typeface. Strobos was designed by Vince Whitlock, who used the Corinthian typeface as a model. It is a dramatic, high-tech alphabet which is most effective in large display sizes. Display Haphazard is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display, headline, logotype, branding, and similar applications. Display Haphazard has an uppercase alphabet located under the character set keys and a full set of alternate uppercase characters located under the character + shift keys. It also has numbers with alternates, and punctuation.

A circa-1925 poster for the chanteuse Arlette Montal, signed simply "Bouchard," provided the inspiration for this roly-poly romp through the alphabet. It takes its name from a popular East Texas summertime porch dance...or not. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Zuider Postduif was my very first font design 3 years ago and I decided to remake and extend it including the Cyrillic alphabet and some OpenType features. It looks pretty cool as printed text(lyrics, poems) and fits best for decorations, posters, menu carts for restaurants, brochures, newspaper headlines or logos. It’s comfortable to read above 12 px.

TREMELO a typeface based on a logotype (Microtel). We designed it as a complete capital alphabet. The original idea for the logotype font came from the products the firm produced. La Bamba is the work of British designer David Quay and heavily influenced by the style of the 1950s. La Bamba is a casual design with wedge-shaped serifs and radiates a gay, light-hearted mood.

I must admit that I am not a big fan of the Art Nouveau style. However, I found this particularly beautiful alphabet and decided to use it as the basis for this new font. Very graceful, elegant, and dare I say, organic. Includes some intertwined ligatures. Complete uppercase, numerals, basic punctuation. Supports most Western European languages.

Adlery is a brush typeface designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini for display use. It has a handmade feel and it’s optimized for maximum readability at medium sizes. Telegram is the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson, a casual style influenced by the ball and rod, or atomic, imagery popular during the 1950s. Donaldson called the typeface Telegram because it reminds him of dots and dashes. Paradox Runa is based on the futhark, norse elder runes. “Missing” characters has been replaced with either other “real” runes, or “new” ones have been “invented” so that the font hold all characters for the latin alphabet (A-Z + swedish Å Ä & Ö) + “Numbers” 0-9. I do not claim that this rune alphabet is totally authentic nor correct! All upper and lower-case letters are the same except for the letter S. “Ligatures” have been created for the th, ng and eo sounds. These are accessed by writing TH, NG and EO (in upper case letters). Space is automatically replaced by a ‘colon’ (':') - if you want a “real” space, write an underscore! (open type version of the font and open type compatible layout application required). Paradox Runa goes perfect with the font Paradox X (regular yet enigmatic hand drawn latin letters)!

The Seol Sans design offers a fresh palette for designers working with the Korean alphabet, particularly those looking to pair Latin and Korean alphabet (or Hangul) forms without creating typographic friction. 1st Ave is the most experimental of my typefaces. I took a picture of a metal and neon sign in the East Village of New York City. These signs are slowly being replaced by LED and LCD displays, but if you look hard, you can still find quite a few in the city. The signs give a mid 20th century feel to the city. To design 1st Ave, I took a picture of the sign, scanned it and increased the contrast in Photoshop so that the photographic forms became line art. There weren't enough letterforms in the sign to create the whole alphabet, so I cut up the strokes and collaged them back together to finish the entire alphabet. Important Note: 1st Ave is an experimental typeface and is not compatible with certain software such as Microsoft Word.

For decades, cereal companies have included premiums [promotional gifts] inside their packages, printed on the cartons or to send for with a special coupon and redemption instructions. During the 1940s, Pep cereal [a long-discontinued Kellogg's brand] offered a series of water-applied decals within its boxes. Most likely made by the Meyercord Company (one of America's largest transfer decal manufacturers at the time), one decal in particular had an alphabet in gold letters with black outlines. (One can only presume the marketing strategy was to have kids bug their parents to buy more Pep cereal if the child needed more than one letter of the alphabet for his or her initials!) Those decal letters have inspired a digital version as the outline character font Toy Decals JNL, which is available in regular oblique, solid and solid oblique styles.

Architype Crouwel is a collection of typefaces created in collaboration with Wim Crouwel, following his agreement with The Foundry, to recreate his experimental alphabets as digital fonts. Crouwel's most recognized work was for the Van Abbe and Stedelijk museums (1954 –72) where he established his reputation for radical, grid-based design. Stedelijk first appeared in the seminal Vormgevers poster, commissioned by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam in 1968. Crouwel created a rigid grid system across the poster of 57 vertical by 41 horizontal lines, also forming the basis for the construction of the letterforms. Although all hand drawn, the resulting typeface had a machine-made appearance. This striking black and white poster with its visible grid became one of Crouwel's most iconic designs. Architype Stedelijk now re-creates these letterforms as a single alphabet typeface in a digital font.

At first glance, the lettering style of Technopen JNL seems to emulate the computer-age fonts of the 1980s. In actuality, this font is derived from an alphabet sample found in an instructional booklet for the Esterbrook Drawlet Pens. The Drawlet line was Esterbrook's answer to the iconic Speedball pen points sold through their chief competitor, the Hunt Pen Manufacturing Company. So, what seems to be late 20th Century typography is actually from vintage source material. In fact, the entire contents of the instructional booklet were copyright 1929! A few minor changes were made to the original A-Z alphabet and additional characters were added. The name Technopen is a shortening of the term 'technical pen', which is both a nod to the techno age of the 80s and the technical instruments of the past utilized for drawing and lettering.

This font is based on an alphabet published by Luca Pacioli in his 1509 mathematical treatise De divina proportione. In this book, Pacioli describes how to build the Roman alphabet geometrically using lines, squares and circles. Pacioli was not the first or the last man in his era to describe the building of letters mathematically. Felice Feliciano did this before Pacioli, and Albrecht Dürer further developed these forms years after. According to Pacioli, the thick strokes should be 1/9th of the height, and the thin strokes should have 1/2 the weight of the thick strokes. I felt that this beautiful alphabet needed to be restored to its full geometric glory and set out to construct an accurate replica using Pacioli's instructions. Included in the font you'll find the letters that have the grid overlay and also the letters without the grid. The letters J, W, U, and Z were not included in the book, so I have created my own versions of these characters that fit into Pacioli's grid. Pacioli shows two different Os in the book, so I have included the second O as well as a second J, Q, and Z as OpenType stylistic alternates. Also included in the font are border patterns and a fleuron taken from the cover of the book.

Squickt was the first script I designed. The name is an atrocity, I don't remember what was on my mind, when I decided on that name, but after 25 years it is to late to change, so I have to stick with it. I have recently gone over the script and changed a little stroke here, a curve there and I added Small-Caps. The font is very useful for all kinds of signs, that have to look spontaneous. Madeleine is an open script face with influence from early 50s scripts. The stroke doesn't have much variation, and the characters are wide and flowing. The script also features OpenType end swashes and discretionary ligatures to extend the twirling and fluid nature of the script.
