1955 Is a fresh grotesque interpretation. Any detail too historically referenced is replaced by strong geometry and idiosyncratic features. After my previous typefaces inspired by the flavour of local typography (Massimo, Picadilly & Zigfrid), I'd like to present new one, called CUKIER. This family was designed mainly for branding purposes - visual identity of CUKIER.WORKS Agency. Cukier is a sans serif, geometric typeface, inspired by the vernacular typography from Zanzibar (Tanzania). A lot of letters have intentionally made mistakes in a drawing, and this it what makes the whole font unusual. Family consist 10 styles – 5 weights with italics.

Happenstance came out of a play session with Bezier curves with a sense of fun built into its being. First came play, then came work. Thomas Edison once said,”Creativity is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” Nikola Tesla thought the opposite. In this case, what started as inspiration took a lot of perspiration to corral into a usable font. So maybe the reality is a) different for different people or b) somewhere in the middle. Just sayin’.

Thursday Afternoon is like a typewriter that was out in the rain all night - all wobbly and worn, but with the well-known details of a typewriter, just a bit...well a lot...out of the ordinary! Although being awkward, Thursday Afternoon is surprisingly legible. I'd like that the font should be used for labels, toys for kids, candy or any kind of organic product. It even looks really well with headlines or shoutouts in all-caps!

I love riding English double decker buses! I haven’t been on one lately, but for some reason I had an image of a red double decker bus in my head when I made this font. Dynasty is an extensive and versatile family that exploration and modernisation of the typographic quirks associated with the 'American Gothic' type school (in much the same way as English Grotesque was an exploration of Gill/Johnston idea-space) and adds chamfered elements to dots and tails to emphasise and extend the early machine-made aesthetic. Elegantly clean and readable at headline and small text settings, where (as with all fonts in small sizes) the introduction of tracking will improve legibility.

ITC Tapioca was designed by Eric Stevens. He developed the typeface for a nightclub, yet its simple forms are reminiscent of childhood writing exercises. This effect is enhanced by rough edges, which in large sizes make the characters look as though they were composed of strings of dots...or tapioca. The basic style is printed handwriting, although some forms take cursive handwritten forms. The varying slants and irregular forms of the characters give ITC Tapioca a sense of energy and playfulness.

Since I designed Mommie you can see a lot of script typefaces with big contrast for big sizes. With Narziss I created a roman interpretation with the very expressive Swirls version. Glenda is again an italic script like Mommie. In the Regular the characters join and it looks like a neatly written sprencerian handwriting. But like Narziss it has got a Swirls version too. Every glyph and swirl is carefully designed to work in every connection. Use Glenda at only very large sizes.

I have a lot of options to choose from, and it's hard to decide. For example, if I use "Thin" for the body text, I might make the title slightly larger and use "ExLight," and for the headings, I could use "Regular" or something similar. I could also stick to one font weight, like "Light," and differentiate the text using various sizes. This font is designed for enjoying the process of "indecisiveness," so please feel free to wander and deliberate extensively.

Make no mistake, Maritime Champion is not simply seaworthy. This peacoat grubbing, all hands on decking, accordion serenading font is not for the faint of heart. He’s all caps all the time. Even the lightest of his six weights is enough to anchor a Man-o-War in any Caribbean maelstrom. This stencil set includes four weights to accompany the existing four shoreline styles and six regular weights. It’s an all caps family that includes lots of language options and opentype fractions.

No prizes for guessing this font family was inspired by the 1950s - the sounds (Buddy, Eddie, Elvis), the styles (polka dots, petticoats and Dior's New Look), and the kitsch, from furry dice above the dashboard to plaster ducks over the mantlepiece! A particular point of reference is the furnishings and fabrics of the Fifties (with their distinctive kidney shapes and angular curves) as showcased in the Festival of Britain 1951. Coffinated features letters on coffin shapes. This caps-only family has two sets of characters, with one on coffins that are flipped from those in the other set. The OpenType feature contextual alternatives (calt) prevents two characters from the same set being adjacent. The two styles, bold and regular, can be used in layers to add color. There are not a lot of uses for macabre lettering (horror? Halloween?) but Coffinated is available for those who do find a use.

Song style typefaces originated in the age of woodblock printing in Song Dynasty. Being an essential Chinese type style for printing and publishing all since Ming Dynasty. Based on the Kaishu calligraphic script, its structure has evolved, regularised and standardised with thick stems (豎), thin horizontal strokes (橫) and triangular finials. Dots (點), hooks (勾) and downstrokes retained some features of calligraphy, hence an appropriate choice for continuous reading. The typeface is equipped with a variety of stroke weights, all highly legible .

Smilodon an ancient distressed font made with raptor claws, cat’s teeth, stone and sky? It's a corroded, distressed, punk scrawl with lots of attitude. This is a basic minimal glyph set with uppercase and lowercase forms. This is a headline display font suggested use would be 60 point or larger. Note: The metric and kerning on this font is extremely tight spacing and user should letterspace to desired width within application type controls. This monster cat is pre-historic indeed.

I've had mixed feelings about Kabel; It is a brilliant headline font with a lot of character, but it's the characters I have problems with. The versions of all big foundries have the same flaws (in my opinion), especially lowecase a and s. So I finally went ahead and made an all new version. It is not Kabel, but very much like it. It has unique x-height, weight and width, and many individual characters are also different from the original.
