Galaxo Dot is a sister to Galaxo Line. HGB Galaxo is a tribute to Othmar Motter (1927–2010), the Vorarlberg graphic artist and typeface designer, who designed very individual and perfectly crafted typefaces in the 1970's and later. (Motter Ombra, Motter Tectura ...) From a Motter sketch of 5 letters for a logogram, I derived a simplified letterform and developed all the necessary characters. Working on these glyphs and delving deeper into Motter's letterforms, the respect for the accuracy with which he drew his letters (in ink) grew more and more. The spiral resembles the shape of a galaxy, hence the name Galaxo. The font is suitable for retro, poster and logo design.

A long time ago, I lived and worked in the English Lake District. When I first arrived there, I camped out not far from a neolithic monument called Castlerigg Stone Circle. Castlerigg Stone Circle is one of the most beautiful stone circles in the whole of Britain; the views are great and it makes for a nice walk from Keswick. This rather grungy font was made with a Sharpie pen I initially wanted to throw away, because it was dry, but then decided I could at least get one more font out of it. The result is Castlerigg - a rather neolithic looking all caps font. Castlerigg comes with double letter ligatures for the lower case.

An offbeat not-quite-slab, not-quite-bracketed serif. And its extreme weight and width. Richard Dix started as a surgeon and turned out an actor, one of the lucky few who made a successful transition from silent film to talkies. In 1929 he made the movie western, “Redskins,” and his name appeared on a brilliant poster promoting the film. “Richard DIX”; four upper case and six lower case letters. The font Dix is derived and extrapolated from impressions of those 10 letters. Inspired by the poster for the 1929 film, “Redskin,” and a desire to create a black Edwardian font with an offbeat serif. British designer Bob Newman's Horatio family is a delightful look back into the modernists experiments of the 1920s. This geometric sans serif design was created in 1971, and was originally released by Letraset. We are please to offer the family in digital form, in light, medium, and bold weights. Many designers during the 1920s were interested in reforming the alphabet, and wanted to reconcile letterforms with the machine and manufacturing technology of the age. Herbert Bayer at the Bauhaus was one of many designers who developed a universal alphabet," creating letters using only the simplest of geometric forms. Similar experiments in 1920s-style revivals were also created during the 1970s, most notably Herb Lubalin's ITC Avant Garde Gothic."

A Roman typeface with emphasized triangular serifs. A font like this one could have been designed in 18th century France. To some extent, Auxerre is a precursor of “Etienne,” which later became popular as an advertising typeface of the 19th century. Auxerre is available in five font weights: light, regular, semibold, bold and black. Auxerre supports Western and Central European languages including Scandinavian languages. Plus, the font includes lots of ligatures, tabular figures as well as a “Capital German Double S.” Auxerre fits perfectly with any topic related to the past two centuries. Merrivale is an ideal example of the benefits of keeping ones eyes open- it was inspired by the gilt-finished raised lettering on a late Victorian shopsign in Melbourne, Australia. The family of seven faces include upper and lower case forms, small capitals, all capital forms, and flamboyant display forms. Extensive Opentype features are incorporated. All faces are offered in incised forms inspired by the original lettering as well as in solid black filled forms. Thsee typefaces are wonderful for signage where either a period air or a dignified but legible feel are required. They also lend themselves to other display uses such as posters, book covers and so forth and are ideal for the title lines of certificates.

KubaApplique is a bold and exciting African font that makes use of the interplay of black and white shapes -- reminiscent of the Kuba cloths that are made and used by the Bakuba tribe. Typified by a balance between dark and light areas, the characters reflect the ethos of Africa. Kuba applique contains the full range of upper and lower case characters, all punctuation and special characters as well as the accented characters used in the major European languages. Because the way in which the individual letters fit together is so important in Kuba Applique, I took especial care of the kerning and spacing of characters. The font is intended to be used as a display font.

Josephine, named for Josephine Baker, the legendary dancer of the 1930s, is a twenty first century sans serif typeface that harks back to the earlier part of last century. Although very modern, it has been greatly influenced by the many art deco fonts produced during the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century.In it I have tried to capture the art deco spirit in a modern humanist font. Josephine is exceptionally readable and yet completely characteristic of the Art Deco period. It can be used for text passages as well as display in posters, advertising, labels and packaging. It is professionally finished and contains all upper and lower case characters as well as all special characters, punctuation and symbols.

Mecanica is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications. The entire font has an original look which is strong, dynamic, machine generated and can be widely used in publications and advertising. Mecanica is a futuristic, techno-looking and expressive typeface with an appearance of metal-like parts with some very sharp edges. This attractive display comes in roman with lower case and lining figures. The font also is available with true-drawn slant italics. Other design style variations include Swash as well as Ornamental Italic Capitals along with a few Ornamental Symbols to embellish and enhance the possibilities.

Sometimes you get an idea stuck in your head and the only way to get rid of that demon is to put something down on paper. A year later the doodles became a skeleton, and then the skeleton had a body, then the body had a name, then the name got a personality. What was left was a clean set of ten fonts that encompass a very simple skeleton with a lot of visual appeal. During the process, I saw ways to expand the typeface's display capabilities by producing inline styles as well as a down-and-dirty rough set. Each font has a full set of glyphs that include Central European and Small Cap characters.

This font was inspired by one of a standard French manual styles in use from the beginning of 1900s to the end of World War II, when people were writing most often with pen holders and metal nibs. This typeface is easily legible as it was used for the lithographic printing of university textbooks. All lower cases from a to z and numerals from 0 to 9 are doubled by a slightly different one to allow a varying manual aspect in texts. We have added a lot of diacritic characters, covering West (including Celtic) and North European, Icelandic, Baltic, Eastern European and Turkish language. A few special glyphs allows to make final loops or underlining.

When people usually think of wood type, images of bold and ornate designs reminiscent of the Old West or the Victorian Era come to mind. In truth, wood type was manufactured well into the late 20th century, and only fell out of favor when the letterpress was replaced by the offset press and computerized typesetting. Although there are hard-core collectors who have started a small resurgence in the preservation and use of wood type, it's the digital interpretations of these classic faces that see the most use in today's electronic layout work. Deco Wood Type JNL reinterprets one of these later designs, a bold sans with a decidedly Art Deco influence.

The ITC Blair™ typeface is a revival and reimaging of an early 20th century metal typeface of the same name. Even though only available as single weights of extended and condensed proportions, metal fonts of the face were sold well into the 1950s. In 1997, Jim Spiece resurrected the original extended design for digital imaging and, in the process, added two new weights. Almost 20 years later, he collaborated with Monotype type designers to extend the basic family again. The result was a new suite of three condensed designs and italic complements for all the roman weights. The family also benefits from a large set of alternative glyphs and many OpenType® features.

The 1930s era French textbook on lettering "100 Alphabets Publicitaires déssinés par M. Moullet" featured a hand lettered chamfered alphabet with slab serifs reminiscent of sports lettering. Although intended for advertising and signage inspiration, only a partial lower case was illustrated along with the capitals and no numbers or other characters existed. These had to be created from scratch. The finished result is not only a bit of classic lettering from the past, but the font also doubles as a typeface with a sports look and feel. A traditional (rather than stylized) M and N are located on the solid bar key and the broken bar key respectively. Old Sport JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Panorama KG is a black display font. The starting idea was to design letters that stand on the horizon. For that reason, the descenders are extremely short, and the elements of the letters lying on the base line are cutten, the horizontal strokes are lowered ... These characteristics should reduce the spacing and emphasize the compactness of densely composed titles and shorter text forms. Panorama KG was designed specifically for headlines, logotypes, branding, and similar applications... Due to the characteristics that are in function only in the bold version, it did not make sense to make more styles or family, but Panorama KG can be combined with many other serif and sans serif typefaces.

China Dragon JNL was inspired by a vintage letterpress logo cut on sale in an online auction. The logo for The China Dragon restaurant (presumably from the 1950s or 1960s) had a wonderfully eclectic hand-lettered look. Some of the original characters were modified slightly to conform with the ones created for the remainder of the typeface, but the original styling remains intact. The unique design of this font allows it to adapt well to Art Nouveau or Mideastern project styles. In January of 2006, Jeff Levine Fonts started with just ten designs. A little more than seven years later, in April, 2013 the release of China Dragon is the 700th font added to this ever-growing library.

Named after Cologne, the city it was born, Colonia Deco is a modern Art Deco inspired display font. The Filosofia Regular family is designed for text applications. It is somewhat rugged with reduced contrast to withstand the reduction to text sizes. I got rhythm, I got music, I got my swirls, who could ask for anything more? Periplus is quite an eccentric type, full of twists and nice oddities here and there. It is an all-caps font with 2 variations for each letter and number, stored at upper- and lower-case slots. For added amusement, every letter got not 1 or 2, but 4 swash variations. One can be reached through the OpenType swash feature: just select the letter and hit the swash button. The other ones you will access through a glyphs palette. All of them are neatly organized with the 'access all alternates' feature. The font is yet equipped with some stylistic alternates and ornaments. Have fun!

Basilio Calafati (1800–1878) worked as a magician under the name of Salamucci in the Wiener Prater. Later he obtained the license for a roundabout and other amusement facilities in the Wiener Prater. Calafati typeface family is characterised by little contrast and strong emphasis on the horizontals. It is a robust font that has many applications. Its character shapes are simple and relatively unembellished. With regard to metrics and proportions it combines perfectly with the Wien Pro and the Liebelei Pro. Calafati is available in weights light, regular, medium, bold and black. In 2022, Calafati received a major update. Just like my previous typefaces, my new one, Smooth Buggaloo, also finds its roots in music. The Boogaloo was a popular music style in the 60s, a mixture of Latin and Rock and Roll music. Later Salsa took over this genre. Latin music represents a vibrant, lively and an uncontrollable need to move. In Smooth Buggaloo, you will recognize a swing, flair and a hint of seduction. But despite its vibrancy it can also be understood as a serious, simple and clean typeface. The characters vary between a handwritten and a designed look. Smooth Buggaloo is very suitable for any graphic purpose, like logo- and poster design and it can also be used for longer texts.

We count three inspirations for the László font family. The upper case was inspired by Yomar Augusto’s amazing font Unity, used on last year’s German World Cup Team jerseys; the lower case from a few letters a poster for a Bauhaus show. The name László is an homage to László Moholy-Nagy, peerless Bauhaus designer and teacher. The László type family is stripped down to the typographic core, lean, clean and definitely machined, at home in either a formal or casual setting, i.e. you can take László anywhere. A clean sans serif, originally constructed as a proprietary font for a German IT-company. From the beginning it was designed to work both in print and on screen and experience shows that it performs well in both environments. First released as a commercial typeface with GarageFonts in 2002 and later with the Fountain Type Foundry (2004). During 2007-08 the family was expanded and upgraded into a full OpenType Pro package. The company Jura have since long used Stalemate as part of thier corporate identity. They have also licensed special versions with full support for Greek and Cyrillic languages. This will be available as a commercial option in the near future.

Annonce is a digitization and expansion of a 1912 Johannes Wagner Foundry classic called Aurora Grotesk, which also circulated later on in metal under the name Annonce. Bold, extended and clear as a bell, Annonce stood out as the definite big sign font long before the Helveticas of the world. With angled cuts on some of the letters, it also shows humanistic traits that make it more appealing than any other face in its genre. The Annonce set comes in two fonts, a regular and an italic, and includes a very large character set that accommodates almost all Latin-based languages, including Turkish, Baltic, Celtic, Maltese, Esperanto, and the languages of Central and Eastern Europe.
