This is a complex typographic system which includes three different but complementary styles so far: Slab, italic and script, with nine weights each one; plus three sets of ornamental fonts: labels, negative labels and ornaments. The soul of the family is a slab feeling applied judiciously to the italic and script styles to make it coherent with the whole system. Each style has three sets of figures: Proportional lining, tabular lining and old style. You can mix the three styles in a single piece to obtain more expressive results without worring about the uniformity and complementing the design by using the ornamental sets.

Cavita Rounded typeface is a mix between both grotesque and calligraphic models: regulars have a rough grotesque spirit, while the italics where inspired in calligraphic gestures. All of these details are reinforced with an inverted modulation (horizontals strokes are thicker than usual). The italics seem to move away from the traditional concept of type system, but work very well alongside. This typeface has very particular shapes and rhythm, itís different and identifiable from the rest, making it a very good option to use on any piece of design. Cavita Rounded is designed as an upgrade Cavita.

Montix is a narrow, constructed type family that developed by the German designer Diana Fischer in 2003. With five weights (light, light italic, regular, regular italic, and bold), Montix is a particularly effective small family, especially when used for headline or display purposes. Montix's letterforms have relatively long ascenders and descenders, which compared with its horizontally compact body gives it its unique style. Words or lines of text set in Montix would look best when some amount of white space is left around them. Because of this, the faces are well suited for logos and corporate identity uses.

Must a letter always have a symmetrical basic form? What happens when the shape of the letters stretch like an arc in the reading direction? When writing with a broad nib, this is easily achieved. The HGB Santo examines the effect of this formal principle on the readability of a text. First attempts have shown a warm and reader-friendly typeface. Six shades from Light to Black, each with an italic should be sufficient for most applications. Small caps and old-style figures are available via OpenType features as well as some ornamental forms in the italics.

A rounded version of Albiona, a contemporary slab-serif which revisits aspects of Robert Besley’s classic Clarendon. Originally named after the Clarendon Press in Oxford, the type family was subsequently extended by Stephenson Blake in the 1950s. Albiona adds the inwardly-curved stroke terminals of the same foundry’s Grotesque series, and includes italics and old-style and tabular numerals. The original Clarendon’s ball serifs and calligraphic eccentricities have been rationalised for functional contemporary uses. The family consists of five weights plus italics and a stencil, and its clean readable style is perfect for both extended text as well as headline setting.

Los Lana Niu was designed by Bruno Jara and Luciano Vergara. The typeface is based on Los Lana (2007). Along with the redesign, the font has increased from 1 to 24 different styles. This new version preserves the rustic aesthetics of the original typeface, but it lacks of curves and it visually looks as if it was a nirregular font. It draws some inspiration from heavy brush drawn vintage hand lettering but its heavy weight is much thicker with plenty of impact and more contemporary letterforms. Although originally conceived as a magazine face – with strong serifs and open character shapes for good legibility in small sizes, and compact letter forms optimized for narrow columns and tight headlines – Marat evolved into a comprehensive family for general use. This specific construction and the round forms of the letters create an elegant, soft and friendly appearance. The typeface suits a wide range of typography, e.g. editorial, brochures, packaging and corporate design. In particular, in bold weights it works surprisingly well, which is not always the case with serif faces. Marat includes oldstyle and lining figures (both proportional and tabular), a wide range of language support and various OpenType features (e.g. ligatures, case-sensitive forms, fractions, superiors and inferiors). In the era of digital types, the round handmade cursive continues to intrigue many type designers, probably by their beautiful and graceful calligraphic origins. However, what is certainly true, is that all good traditional pen-formed script may be suitable for a wide range of fine graphic works. The Predy typeface is based on the famous style of the 19th Century: The English handwriting made by pen. It is a connected cursive in the tradition of the “ronde”. This typeface is constructed upon their vigorous ascenders with loops, two times the lengths of the descenders with an extremely short x-high. The uppercase is a classical modern roman typeface (Didona) that are accompanying with a set of accurate flourished capitals as alternates of the calligraphic style. Axion STN is an original design by Alex Kaczun and is a stencil interpretation of his Axion RX-14 font. It is but one of several alternate designs based on his original Axion family of fonts. The wide gap within this stencil treatment works well with and compliments the spacing in the font, creating a tension within this modern grotesque and adding a class of destinction and interest. This display font is not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications. The entire font has an original look which is strong, dynamic, machine generated and can be widely used in publications and advertising. Axion STN is a futuristic, techno-looking and expressive typeface with an appearance of machined parts with sharp and rounded edges. This attractive display comes in roman with lower case and lining figures. The large Pro font character set supports most Central European and many Eastern European languages.

Bourton Text is a modern sans-serif typeface family perfect for both text type settings and display purposes. While it’s not a layering type family like its brother, Bourton, it come packed with features, extras and over 2,000 characters that make it stand on its own. HISTORY Bourton Text is a new take of the Bourton family that was one of the best-selling and favorite fonts of 2016. After countless requests for lowercase alphabet, or suggestions for a font pairing with Bourton, this new text setting family is based on the original shapes of Bourton. DESIGN & CREATION In taking Bourton Base was the starting point as they narrowest width and boldest weight. From there, lowercase shapes were designed that matched the aesthetic and details of the popular capitals. As Bourton was a heavy display font, some small tweaks were done to make it more fitting for smaller text settings, including reducing the letter-spacing and reworking some counters. Some areas needed complete reconstruction, such as the figures. The design of those began anew with a style that worked with the capitals and lowercase but also as a standalone set. Currency shapes were updated to match the numerals. Punctuation was also reimagined to work better in smaller type settings. Diacritics and extended language support was also updated and expanded to include full Latin plus language support for 219 latin based language spoken in 212 countries. Once the basic alphabet for Bourton Text Bold Narrow was formed, the font was expanded in both weight and width. Taking the weight from Bold down to Hairline, it allowed for more range in use. The typeface needed to be expanded in order to reach better as a book weight and width, in addition to a regular width, a wider version was create as well. FEATURES Once the extremes were set in place, small capital forms were designed for text and display purposes. These also allow for nested capital letters, lifted small caps and other display features offered in the typeface. One of the most popular fonts in the Bourton layering font family is Bourton Line. This led to an experimentation with rounded Bourton Text completely and thus a complete set of duplicated characters with rounded terminals. By using the Opentype Panel, a rounded font is a single click away. Every feature has been carefully thought out and updated across the entire font. In total, Bourton boasts over 2,300 glyphs, 42 font files with 3 widths and 7 weights in upright and italic.

Directa Serif Variable is a text type family in one single font file. It explores new possibilities for the original type family released by Outras Fontes some years earlier, which is designed to save space with the highest readability. The variable font is composed of two axes of variation: Weight (100–900) and Italic (0–1). It also contains 18 predefined styles between Thin and Heavy and their respective italics. Here is a sans-serif built up on an old-style design framework especially perceptible in the italic. It is the conjunction of contradictories feelings: pointed / soft, classical / modern. The smaller the typesetting, the better it works.

Courier is the king of typewriter faces. But if you want an alternative, something with a look reminiscent of the older, manual typewriters, consider TiredOfCourier. The family includes true italics, something very unusual in a typewriter face.

The original Lawabo was started many years ago by Rainer Scheichelbauer. Its ­minimalistic and rounded shapes are reminiscent of bathroom ceramics, hence the name. Schriftlabor designer Miriam Surányi added bold and italic shapes, and produced the family.
