Thima is a display font inspired by the liberty style revisited to the present day, hence it is free from the canonical compositional standards that make up the majority of fonts. Its elegant shapes are available in two versions: solid and outline. Thima’s unique features are enhanced by the perfect fusion between irregular and fluid shapes that coexist with right angles. Jochen Schuss designed Linotype Paint It in 1997 with exclusively capital letters and in two weights. The best way to describe the weight Paint It might be to compare it with a labyrinth in which the figures only become clear to the reader dedicated to finding them. The second weight, Paint It black, is almost the solution to this puzzle. The characters are black and stand out strikingly from the background. Linotype Fresh Ewka is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This fun font was designed by Polish artist Dariusz Nowak-Nova and each letter seems to be a work in itself. The fine hair lines are decorated with tiny squares and look like wires with nodes while the thicker strokes have indefinite contours and seem to have been made with a thick brush. Linotype Fresh Ewka is suitable for headlines in large point sizes.

Boldstrom is a heavy-handed, all caps, display font available in 5 versions. Emphasis was put into strong line weight, minimal contrast, and tight curves. This family is defined by very broad stems with comparatively thinner cross strokes. Spacing was condensed to ensure the characters fit snug against one another. This was done in part to minimize negative space while also creating tension. The result is a powerful looking sans serif designed to command attention and make a statement. Boldstrom will be best used in large format print, titling, books, movie posters, or company logos.

Designed for the newspaper technology of the 1980s, Clarion uses many of the findings made in the preparation of Monotype Nimrod, from which it is derived. The Clarion font family differs from Nimrod in its detailing, which is more akin to that of the Ionics, a style which influenced most designers of contemporary newspaper faces. The large x-height and sturdy construction of the characters make Clarion well suited for use on laser printers as well as being an excellent choice for setting newspapers, journals, newsletters and circulars.

Mesh Stitch has a hand-stitched look, with the capital letters/numbers being nine cross-stitches tall (+ about 3 stitches for accents). To make the font look authentic, I stitched some characters using wool and took photographs which were turned into glyphs. As a result, none of the cross-stitches are symetrical and some are at a slightly at an angle, because I didn't want the font to feel mechanical. As a result, the font has a cute, homely character to it. It is particularly good for large displays/headlines.

Macho was designed in 2010 for MAN, Museo d'Arte Provincia di Nuoro, as a part of the corporate identity designed by Sabina Era. Macho is based on the idea of modular widths of the 20th-century typesetting systems, as the Olivetti Margherita and the hot-metal Linotype machine. The basic module is 7,5 percent of the body size (75 upm units) and every letter width is up to 20 modules. Every letter has the same width across different weights. Macho includes a large set of boxes and underlines that can be overlapped on the letters.

LOGX-30 is a geometric, all-caps, display typeface. As a brother of LOGX-10 and LOGX-20 , this is the most narrow version in a series of three related typefaces. LOGX-30 is designed, like other LOGX versions, for a wide range of graphic designs and visual identifications. I think that it works best in works with a technical, geometric style, and rather striving for minimalism. Both the normal and the italic version can be used together to compose graphics, photos, large and small text in an interesting way.

Tiza is a rough take on informal faces and handwriting, brought on by the recent demand for scripts and brush lettering. Silent is a semi-serif typeface that combines readability with fluidity in a discreet and clean design. It works great on short texts such as captions, charts and graphs. Silent Alternates was born from the deconstruction of Silent Light, resulting in a most impressive typeface. Ideal for use in large sizes, such as posters and titles, it is an alternative to italics. It can be used to highlight some words in conjunction with Silent Light.

The Svati Sava font is a Latin Alphabet layout of a Serbian font. The original letterforms of this font struck me in their modern simplicity while retaing a traditional Eastern European feel and I wished to have a variant of it suitable for Latin Alphabets. To create this font I used many of the letterforms from Serbian and recreated a large portion of the miniscule alphabet. Svati Sava comes with full punctuation, a complete character set for most Western European Latin alphabet languages. Being a decorative font, it works best at larger point sizes.

A calligraphic alphabet in bold/light brushstrokes Actually, a typeface like this one should be written with a wide brush; this one was written with a thick, pointed brush. Thus were created the round or misshapen ends of the stems, and the sometimes excessively pointed ends of the hairlines. For each character of KLEX, the large brush was dipped in the ink anew. Using this method, the forms turned out very soft, in spite of their geometrical rigidity. The individual characters are heavy, simple, and monumental, so that they are also suitable as initials.

This family was inspired mainly (Normal and Italic style ) by a Didot pattern font used in Rennes (France, Britanny) by Cousin-Danelle, printers, for Antiquités historiques et monumentales ‡ visiter de Montfort ‡ Corseul, par Dinan... Saint Malo... etc. an historic guidebook for a journey through a part of (French) Brittany in 1820, and many other books. The present version contains 1820 Modern Normal and Italic, 1820 Modern Large Normal and 1820 Modern Narrow Normal, each style with small caps. This font may be used together with 1906 French News and/or 1906 Titrage.

CushingTwo is the 6-font family designed for Fontographer: Practical Font Design for Graphic Designers: Regular, Oblique, Demi, DemiOblique, Bold, and BoldOblique. The two Demi variants will be listed separately in InDesign and the Creative Suite to keep things compatible with Office and such. The inspiration was a scan of the old Cushing No. 2 font in Felici's article on CreativePro about 100 year oldtype. It's a fun, open, large OpenType font of 370 characters with oldstyle figures, small caps, and small cap figures. It needs polishing, but it's good looking.

Georges Peignot designed Cochin based on copper engravings of the 18th century and Charles Malin cut the typeface in 1912 for the Paris foundry Deberny & Peignot. The font is named after the French engraver Charles Nicolas Cochin (1715–1790) although its style had little to do with that of the copper artist’s. The font displays a curious mix of style elements and could be placed as a part of the typographical Neorenaissance movement. Cochin is especially large and wide and was very popular at the beginning of the 20th century.

BrownFox was created because I saw a need for a condensed, loose handwriting - I used my trusty nylon marker to create this font - it is rough, yet thin and elegant. BrownFox has a few surprises like some serious ascenders and descenders with an exaggerated x-height. Caps are intentionally simple to maintain an even rhythm. BrownFox works very well in caps, upper-lowercase, lowercase only, small and large. This font will be useful in many applications from invitations through CD album covers. The name was inspired by the other ipsum lorem.:-)

French Kiss is an expressive brush font that was drawn by hand on paper to ensure that it captured an intimate and personal quality. The texture of the brush has been left in, and can be seen when displayed at large sizes. French Kiss contains 28 alternates and ligatures for enhanced diversity and legibility. Unfortunately, the MyFonts display engine does not show the contextual alternates. Additionally, the entire font has been meticulously kerned, letter by letter to ensure a smooth flow, in spite of the expressiveness of the letters.

In 1525, Albrecht Dürer, the well known German great artist, was publishing the so-called “Underweysung der Messung mit dem Zirckel und Richtscheyt”, printed in Nuremberg. This handbook explained with numeral figures how to draw with a compass and ruler. A large part is devoted to the drawing of Roman characters, which can be used as decorative initials. We are offering two complete historical initial sets and also have entirely redrawn the missing letters: J, U and W, Eth, Lslash, Thorn and Oslash in the two forms, using the Dürer style. The font may be used with all our Humane and Garalde fonts, like 1543 Humane Jenson or 1592 GLC Garamond and others from the GLC foundry catalog.

Cartes has a bit of a strange origin story, as far as fonts go. It’s a combination of ideas from 1920’s advertising and hand-painted letters from the 1500s. The typeface was designed to flow with elegance and speed yet retain a sense of the handmade. The serifs flow with indentations implying movement and terminate with inky globules that lend your copy a sense of gravitas. This typeface can be used for headlines, short texts, posters, logos, headlines, headlines in big sizes or just as easily for ad text. The Genesa typeface is a condensed, rounded sans serif typeface with a contemporary styling ideal for editorial or branding design. With it’s 4 weights and accompanying italics, this family can be used for large titles or display settings but is equally legible in small sizes for longer passages of text. Genesa combines a strong, vertical constructed style with a softer rounded approach that adds a humanist flavour. The English typographer Robert Harling created Tea Chest in 1939 with the Stephenson Blake foundry. Today, this classic design is available in digital format from Linotype GmbH. Tea Chest is a bold stencil face. The font's narrow letters are all caps, and they sport small, slab serifs. Harling's design was most likely reminiscent of the old industrial lettering painted onto boxes and wooden crates that used to be shipped all over the world on the high seas. These letters had to be simple to reproduce, easy to read, and not take up too much space! Try out Tea Chest for large signage displays, on exotic product packaging, or in magazine or newsletter headlines.
