With Dreadnought I go back to my roots: one of my very first fonts was a scary brush typeface called Face Your Fears - a very popular typeface with horror lovers, thrill seekers and gangsta rappers. Hounslow is closely related to Acton in structure, and takes the latter’s simple block construction into the third dimension. Hesster Mofet is what I got after writing with an old and weathered calligraphic marker on textured paper. The characters were smoothened for a clean result, but since the original sketches had such a nice rough, edgy feel to them, they were also made into a complete font set. A couple of ligatures and a Hannibal Lecter reference were thrown in the mix as well. You can get both versions at a discount.

In the old Amsterdam neighborhood of 'De Jordaan', you will find a canal called Bloemgracht (Flower Canal). For many years, a coffee store called Schildmeijer could be found here. Their paper coffee bags and advertisements sported a hand made font which I have tried to recreate and the result is Bloemgracht typeface. It is an all caps art deco font, quite angular, but very legible and distinct. Bloemgracht comes with extensive language support.

hadowfield is a fantasy font which was inspired by the hand lettering on the Spiderwick movie posters (which itself was apparently based on Hand Skript One). Every glyph was drawn by hand, using a gel pen on 160 grams paper. Shadowfield will look good on anything fairy-like - book covers, toy packaging and even bottles of home-made mead! Comes with swashed alternates for all capital letters and some lower case ones as well.

Maraka is a handwritten font family, drawn with a paint marker on rough paper, then scanned and turned into vector format. In 1999, Jeff Levine released a freeware font called "Channel Tuning JL" scanned from drawings made with a felt tip marker and designed as if the letters were breaking up due to poor reception such as on pre-digital TV sets. Vincenzo is based on a beautiful condensed typeface from the 1920s or earlier; original designer unknown. This is a "Modern" style with fine slab serifs, vertical stress between thick and thins, and high contrast.
