Linotype Minos is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This fun font was designed by Swiss artist Christian Goetz, who named it after King Minos of Crete of the Bronze Age. Typical of scripts of this time were the ornamental borders around the characters, found on palaces of Knossos, Phaistos and Mallia. These borders surround every character of Linotype Minos, making it exclusively for headlines in larger point sizes. Single characters can also be used as initials mixed with other alphabets, especially with constructed sans serif and modern serif fonts.

Work for the Xcetera typeface started with the desire to create a classical serif design but using the less contrasted stroke thickness found in a host of sans serif designs. My aim was to retain some of the clarity found in modern strokes yet use the serifs to aid in letter recognition and legibility. Aztek emerged as a custom face for an ethno-music festival, and gradually developed a more robust, geometric base. The original ethno roots can still be seen in some of the alternative caps, and the ease with which Aztek forms decorative elements and borders. There is also an alternative “Tall Caps” set, that goes alongside normal uppercase characters as if they were Small Caps. The font features Latin (extended to support German and Polish) and Сyrillic character sets. Linotype Sinah is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Designed by the German artist Peter Huschka, Linotype Sinah is a rounded, ornamental font with many strokes ending in teardrop forms. The letters of this wide-running font do not share a common base line. The capital S and the lower case l both drop under it although neither have descenders. Overall, Linotype Sinah has an almost Asian or Indian feel. The font must be used with generous line spacing and is intended exclusively for headlines or shorter texts in point sizes of 12 or larger.

Sequal is a handwritten graffiti tag script. It was drawn and created by Måns Grebäck between 2018 and 2020. Its round and soft letters are youthful and active, and cool while being cute. This font has been on my drawing board since the late eighties. It was based on drawings provided to me by an old sign-painter family friend and we used it extensively as a caps-only font in the early 90s on a cellphone ad campaign. It loves to be tight set and stacked and provides real grunt when you need it. Small caps have been added and have been weight and proportion adjusted so as to complement the caps. At Type Associates we believe that a font is not complete until the spacing is optimal. Carmel is another example of quality through extensive experience, testing, adjusting and refining.

Altman Grotesk was initially planned as an internal studio typeface for the graphic design studio Ateljé Altmann based in Stockholm, Sweden. After thoroughly researching both classic and contemporary sans serif typefaces, the aim for Altmann Grotesk was set at joining unobtrusiveness yet distinctiveness in one look. As a result, the sans serif successfully embraces a polarizing image of minimalism and uniqueness. Jones also designed the family's second style, Crillee Extra Bold Italic, in 1981. Peter O'Donnell designed Crillee Bold Italic in 1986. The fourth style, Crillee Italic Inline Shadow, was completed by Vince Whitlock. At the time of Crillee's development, Jones, O'Donnell, and Whitlock were all employees of the Letraset Type Studio.
