Bernhard Modern was designed in 1937 by Lucian Bernhard for ATF. It is his personal version of the small x-height engravers’ old styles popular at the time. Finura was inspired by American lettering from the 60s, specially the Stunt Roman for ruling pen and compass presented in the Speedball Textbook for Pen & Brush Lettering by Ross F. Lansere is an art-deco typeface inspired by lettering of Russian graphic artist, painter and sculptor Evgeniy Lansere (1875–1946). A strongly geometric lettering style of his late book covers and an elegance of early ones has been combined in a modern typeface . QUIPO is a typeface based on my recent survey (Freeflow) on hand drawn logotypes used by American and English pop groups in the 60-70s. We thought it an interesting project and a free flow exercise to design this particular font just in capitals and well... yes it’s rather ‘bulky’.
