Hello, friends! I recently bought myself an old game console, the SEGA Mega Drive 2. For a long time I couldn't understand why, when I was a kid, it seemed incredible to play it. Nowadays there are a lot of games with stunning graphics and realism, but still there is something warm and light in old games. Maybe it's just a memory of a carefree childhood. After playing it, I decided to create this font so that everyone could do something in the style of old games that an army of designers and programmers hadn't worked on yet. Chivels : Vintage Chiseled 3D Type System This vintage type family combines chisel effects and pinstripe styling to give it more life. Chivels comes with six fonts that you can combine with each other to get different effects. Starting with a base, you can add more fonts in front to get inner, chisel light, and chisel dark effects. You can also add fonts behind to add outline and shadow effects. Alternate characters are available for every single alphabetical character. In the OTF version, you can select the alternate characters in the Glyphs or Open Type panels. If you're using software that doesn't include Open Type features, you can use the TTF version.

The letters and numbers of a home movie titling kit from circa the 1950s or 1960s called the Magna Tech Titler Number 312 were die-cut from cardboard with a magnetic backing and were styled after Futura Bold. The user of this set composed the desired title or phrase onto a metalized board and the result was photographed with their 8 or 16mm camera. Because the dies of the characters were handmade, very slight variations in the shape and stroke width of the lettering would occasionally occur. These variations were incorporated into the design of the digital type face. Intermediate JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The techno sound of the 1990s, a personal computer, font creation software, and some inspiration all came together to inspire the F2F (Face2Face) font series. Alessio Leonardi and his friends had the demand to create new unusual typefaces, which would be used in the leading German techno magazine of the day, Frontpage. Even typeset as small as 6-points, in nearly undecipherable layouts, it was a pleasure for the kids to read and try to decrypt the messages. F2F Poison Flowers is a psychedelic trip back in time to the era of peace and love. Who would have ever thought that grunge or techno could be so groovy?

Fun Signs JNL comprises twenty-six humorous signs from a 1930s-era sales list of products manufactured by the Koehler Sign Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Koehler manufactured a large line of stock cardboard "Blue Signs" (presumably blue backgrounds with white lettering) and alongside the many standard phrases used by various businesses was a list of funny sayings. Such placards were bought by merchants to either evoke interest in their services (such as in a bar or restaurant, or jokingly comment on their business policies (as in credit billing). These novelty signs are a fun addition to a flier, ad, web page or announcement and will leave your readers smiling.

The last couple of years felt like I was living in a bad dream: I witnessed crazy leaders, climate change and now Covid. I usually name my fonts after things that affect me and this one is not different. Dreamworld is a font I made with a cheap marker pen I liberated from my kids’ pencil box (I will put it back, pinky promise…). It is a bit rough, but also very easy to read and distinctive enough to make your work stand out. Of course it comes with extensive language support (let me mention Vietnamese again…) and two sets of alternate glyphs, that cycle as you type.

Birch was designed in 1990 by Kim Buker Chansler, who based her forms on the designs of the turn of the 20th century. The new age needed new typefaces for an ever-increasing commerce and its advertisements. This time period therefore saw a profusion of new typefaces, all of which were meant first and foremost to catch the eye of consumers. To this end, style elements of past ages were reused, changed, and combined. Birch is modelled after a woodtype, a style made famous by its use on wanted posters in western movies. The narrow and space-saving Birch is perfect for headlines in display point sizes.

Découpé Based on a French children’s play from 1906. In a car boot sale André Toet found a funny looking box containing a lot of cut out cardboard figures, in fact it looked a bit like a geometric puzzle! He played around a bit and succeeded to create a workable typeface with it ! The interesting thing about this particular font is, that in fact it’s organized chaos. The 26 letters of the alphabet are a mix between caps and lowercases, so within one word caps and lowercases will be used next to each other. It’s a very useful font for different projects. Program is a type designer’s typeface. It’s about the craft of typeface design and the particular details and effects that type designers fret over when they design type. It mixes different structures, stem endings, and weight distributions not usually employed in a single family of fonts. It features both rounded edges evoking the effects of reproduction, and ink traps, the technique used to counteract that effect. The idea was to create a series of fonts with strong individualistic features, challenging the constraints of a central theme that is usually imposed on a family of fonts, while still relating to each other in terms of overall look and feel.

Mode is a typographic experiment exploring how same sans serif form adapts to different circumstances and what are the possibilities in variations of Thin / Black, Contrast / Negative contrast. Big City Vibes is a display font designed for posters and texture or pattern like designs. The font is based on "Quixotic Sans Bold" and features its sliced and adjusted uppercase lettershapes. But if you take a closer look, then Crypt is actually quite a scary font: it has jagged edges and a sinister undertone, making the letters jump from your computer and eat you alive! Whoohahaha…!!
