The intention with Capo was to make a typeface with a pinched, angled connection between curves and verticals. We have explored this incised, cut motif previously on typefaces, most notably Noah, Sabre and Harbour. These have focussed more specifically on stone-cut forms. For Capo we wanted to mix the expressive quality of its ‘pinch’ idea with an overall aesthetic that could be applied to text rather than headline. So Capo has something of the function and warm, organic quality of Grotesque style typefaces. In Capo’s Bold and Black weights the sharpness of the letter shapes is more dramatic and emphasised, making for great effect for large-sized text. Why Capo? A capo is a device used on the neck of a stringed (typically fretted) instrument to shorten the playable length of the strings by pinching or clamping them in place, hence raising the pitch.

Garuda typeface, featuring the shape and style based on "Garuda Pancasila", the state symbol of the Republic of Indonesia. Garuda is a mythical bird in the Javanese puppet stories, is very similar to the eagle. At the typeface we can find more ligatures beside than the standard. Within Garuda at least encoded 792 glyphs per weight onto major codepage: win 1252, 1250, 1254, 1257 including Mac OS Roman. It is containing more OpenType features such as swash, contextual alternate, stylistic, figures/number, and a few bit ornaments. The typeface has a pretty good readability and legibility even in small sizes. So it is useful for short texts (text length? Whom fear) for print and screen material. Usage on headlines, posters, titles, or something like that, can utilize ornament lines as a sweetener. Amigo was designed by Arthur Baker in 1989 and consists of a single weight. Its basic forms are based on Venetian old face types, as can be seen for example in the slightly slanted cross stroke of the lower case e. But Baker also gave his figures eccentric contours, for example, a marked stroke contrast which gives the look of having been written with a broad-tipped pen, and the change in stroke is by no means regular in the lower case characters. The heavier upper parts become thinner as they progress downward, in contrast to the tendency of most text typefaces. The eccentricity of the forms give the characters a lively almost comic look and is best highlighted in large point sizes. However, Amigo is also legible in point sizes as small as 10 and well-suited for middle length texts and headlines.

A typeface for telling stories. After seven years through which Rodrigo Saiani worked on Dupincel, Plau’s team still had months of dedication until found a good way of summing up this typeface. All this effort was rewarded, though, when we came up with a motif that gave Dupincel the grandiosity it deserves. Telling stories is this typeface’s gift because it has the emotion for it, resources for it and the breadth for it. Like all that wasn’t enough, it has the scale for it: optical sizes Small, Medium and Large make Dupincel optimized for stories of every length. From short stories displayed big or long stories on small letters. We don’t want to dictate the types of stories either, anything goes. But if ornaments make a good fit with that story, we will be even more thrilled. In the end, Dupincel makes us want to find new stories to tell.

Munchies is a reverse contrast slab-serif font family. Inspired by the volume and size of 19th century wood letterpress blocks and the Italian Caslon language. Munchies has 12 variants, from Heavy to Thin, with opentype options in a set consisting of uppercase, lowercase, small caps, ligatures, and alternate letters (A, M, N, V, W, &, Arrows, *). Munchies is divided into two subfamilies: Normal and Display. The Normal style has an appearance reminiscent of Western posters with a “measured” contrast. Fable is an elegant, hand-crafted typeface that evokes the magic of fantasy weddings, of castles and wizards, of dragons and dungeons. Among others it combines elements that are suggestive of Greek mythology, of runic scripts, of Scandinavian tales and of the stories of King Arthur. Difficult to categorise, Fable effectively combines features of uncial, calligraphic and script fonts. It will enhance the appearance of advertisements, wedding invitations, headlines and posters. It contains a full character set and is professionally letter-spaced and kerned.

It was used in parts of Transylvania until the 1850s, although it was banned by Istvan, the first Christian king of the Hungarians (Szekel), in line with an order to "destroy all pre-Christian inscriptions". Hungarian runic script was usually written on wood-stone pieces in the bustrofedon style. In this method, the writing was written consecutively from right to left and from left to right. This article is available in Bosnian, Carpathian and Glozel editions. Whenever possible, I will present the fonts in these versions.

The Dewani font is a font of original Arabic fonts and is specialized in writing in the offices of the Sultan and the kings of the Arabs. While designing ITC Spirit, Patty King was influenced by classic typeface styles. The letter forms are clearly based on those of the Unziale, which, like ITC Spirit, is also composed of only capital letters. Hints of the Asian brush script style also show in this font. The irregular outer contours are best highlighted in larger point sizes and give the font the look of handwriting. ITC Spirit with its calligraphic style is best used for headlines and short texts in point sizes of 12 and larger.

Violant fonts are designed as a tribute to Queen Violant, wife of Jaume 1st, king of Aragon, a woman of strong character, who supported her husband in the conquest of Valencia in 1238. Probably, Violant read texts in Gothic letters, which at that time were subjected to a stylization process in Castile and Aragon. Violant family comes with 736 glyphs, with OpenType features, swashes for all glyphs, stylistics sets, stylistics alternates, a lot of ligatures and a generous set of ornaments to play with your texts.

Hasan Ghada is an Arabic display typeface. It is useful for titles and graphic projects. The font is based on the simple lines of Modern Kufi calligraphy with new ideas for square shapes and geometric feel. It supports Arabic, Persian and Urdu. This font was designed in 2002 and the first version was released under name KactTitle in the typefaces group of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), which supported the Linux operation system. In 2007, I developed this font and created five weights of it.

It seems only fitting that Pleasant Valley Sundae JNL, a typeface re-drawn from hand lettering on a piece of vintage sheet music, should take its name as a pun on another song's title from a different era. "Pleasant Valley Sunday" was a 1967 hit for the Monkees and was written by the legendary songwriting team of Carole King and the late Gerry Goffin; inspired in turn by a street they'd lived on named Pleasant Valley Way, in West Orange, New Jersey. The record made it to #3 on the pop charts.

The Armanen runes (or Armanen Futharkh) are a series of 18 runes, closely based on the historical Younger Futhark, introduced by Austrian mysticist and Germanic revivalist Guido von List in his Das Geheimnis der Runen (English: "The Secret of the Runes"), published as a periodical article in 1906, and as a standalone publication in 1908. The name Armanen runes associates the runes with the postulated Armanen, whom von List saw as ancient Aryan priest-kings. The Armanen runes continue in use today in esotericism and in currents of Germanic neopaganism.

Taking its name from the arabic word for "king", Malik is a flared sans serif typeface family designed in 2020 by Andrea Tartarelli. The designer wanted to find a way to bridge the classical letterforms of Roman Old Style typefaces with the readability of contemporary sans typefaces. This was achieved by using the so-called flared serif that emerges gradually from the stem of the letter, ending in a sharp angle. It's something that also reminds of the peculiar shapes of the Simoncini Method, invented by italian type designer Francesco Simoncini to get a sharper definition of letterforms. To this blend of classical elegance and modernist expertise, Malik adds the calligraphic influence of modern masters like Frederic Goudy or Ed Benguiat, visible in signature details like the reverse contrast uppercase B, or the calligraphic lowercase k. Malik also means "owner", and this font surely wants to rule the page. It manages to be extremely readable when used in body text size, but looks surprising and expressive in display use. Adagio is a modern type family. It consists of 3 main varieties: sans, serif and slab. Each one of them has its own “true italic” set. All of the styles together have over 400 characters in 9 different thicknesses. The Adagio family was created mostly for company identities. The idea was to create a wide range of different varieties which are stylistically consistent. Adagio Serif - Characterises with strong contrast and high detail in calligraphic character cuts, what gives it a light feeling. Unlike the Slab version, serif variety has asymmetrical serifs. Thanks to large X length, and highly stretched descenders, it also works correct in longer text, while its strong detail is good for headlines. The Serif version is a great complement for Adagio Sans and Adagio Slab.

Mantika News™, from German designer Jürgen Weltin, was designed to expand the Mantika super family with text and display typefaces for setting newspapers and periodicals. The suite of typefaces is comprised of regular and bold designs, with italic counterparts, for setting continuous text, and light and extra bold versions for setting larger sizes in headlines, sub heads, pull quotes and decks. The typefaces intended for text copy were designed with shared character widths, so that changes can be made in typeface choice without disrupting line endings or column length. The award-winning Scala family (1990-1993) is a worldwide bestseller and has established itself as a ‘classic’ among digital fonts. In the era of digital types, the round handmade cursive continues to intrigue many type designers, probably by their beautiful and graceful calligraphic origins. However, what is certainly true, is that all good traditional pen-formed script may be suitable for a wide range of fine graphic works. The Predy typeface is based on the famous style of the 19th Century: The English handwriting made by pen. It is a connected cursive in the tradition of the “ronde”. Amoresa script was handwritten under inspiration of traditional calligraphy and the wonderful mystic soundtrack of Wojciech Kilar. This font comes with a clean and aged version, beautiful uppercase and lowercase alternates, ligatures and end-swashes. You can easy get alternate characters just by adding number 2, 3, or 4 after any uppercase. Each of them has from one to four stylistic alternates. Lowercase has alternates too. Lightbox 21 is a radical update of my previous version of a geometric sans serif. The design of the original Lightbox was fundamentally based on the idea of incorporating the proportions of the ‘Golden Ratio’ into each letterform; Lightbox 21 greatly improves on this concept by entirely abandoning it. The result is a much more readable, ‘natural’ typeface that retains elements of the original without being bound to it. Overall, Lightbox 21 has been designed to convey that classic feel of a geometric sans that makes the genre so tremendously enduring and versatile, as well as providing an effortless sense of class to whatever they are applied. Primarily intended for editorial work (i.e. short to medium length texts) or display settings, Lightbox 21 has a reasonably extensive character set, including support for Vietnamese, many currency symbols, arrows, and small caps. It also has OpenType support for nut fractions (via a stylistic set) and a barred alternate uppercase i and an alternate curled j.

Clarence is a modern, original typeface that has been designed to have a warm and slightly antiquated feel. It is slightly too idiosyncratic for great lengths of continuous text but does work very well at both small and display sizes. The serif structure takes some inspiration from architectural buttresses (a structure built against a wall to provide support or reinforcement). The serifs only protrude a small way from the body of the letter, which serves to ground the letter and, because the serifs bracket (the curve) joins the vertical at a relatively great distance from the tip of the serif, it remains subtle. The italic variant draws on the roman but has a more pronounced and curvier serif structure, analogous to the cursive element expected of an italic. This serif structure is present throughout the italic, even extending into the uppercase, making it more of a true italic than the commonplace sloped roman.

Corleone was originally designed as a two font family in 2001 and offered for free. This year we've expanded the font family to twelve fonts including small caps and italics. While the new Corleone has been greatly refined and is a much more professional quality font we've decided to still offer the original two fonts for free. Corleone is the perfect font for t-shirts and other merch, the new small caps make this font stand out and bring attention to whatever you use it on. Corleone is the font you can't refuse. Tech notes: Corleone was designed after a famous movie logo in the 1970's with a title name that sounds a lot like The Grandfather if you know what I mean. The movies had three installments, my original font was patterned after the logo for the third movie, the new Corleone Primo and Secondo versions are patterned after the logos of the first two movies. The differences are noticed mostly in the lowercase letters. One thing you will not find in this font family is the puppeteer or puppet master hand because it's been registered as a separate trademark of Paramount Pictures. If you're using an application that works in layers then you'll be interested in the four extra over score glyphs included in some of the versions of this font. Sorry, MS Word does not work in layers so this feature will not work in MS Word. When you open up the glyph map in Adobe Creative Suite you should see the over score glyphs when you scroll down to the bottom. These extra over score glyphs allow you to extend the top line of a single capital letter, with four different lengths you should be able to mix and match to achieve the length that you desire. When using the over score glyphs it's best to divide your word or headline into separate text objects, the cap being one object and the remaining letters being the second. If you try using the over score glyphs on a single text object then with each over score that you add the text after it will get pushed down the line.

This unicase typeface, with alternate characters in several of the lowercase positions, is patterned after Mosaik, designed by Martin Kausche for Schriftgeißerei Stempel in 1954. A stencil treatment has been employed, and the outlines have been roughened to enhance its ancient feel. The typeface is named for a king of England, Æðelred the Unready, who ruled over a millenium ago. Unlike its namesake, this typeface is quite ready to do yeoman's duty on your next project. The Opentype, Truetype and Windows Postscript versions of this font contain both the Windows 1252/ANSI character set and the 1250/Central European character set.

Initially inspired by an untitled typeface from an old hand-lettering book, Berber has been extensively developed over two incarnations to function as a very strong and confident sans. The 2011 Berber revisions have enabled Berber to be used across longer settings as well as its more conventional use on larger applications such as signage. Berber was used as the text face for issue 46 of Eye, the graphic design journal. The typeface now features both king caps and small caps. Extensive additions to the numerals sets and complete opentype sets of international diacritics also extend its usage.

Ammurapi was the last king of Ugarit, which was destroyed circa 1200 B.C. Back then all writing was done by hand and all that has been preserved is on clay tablets many of which were fired in the very destruction of the cities that enabled these documents to withstand the rvages of time. Ugarit unlike the other cuneiform scripts has a very limited number of glyphs. It is somehow exotically attractive. This font has been encoded in the appropriate unicode block to permit ease of use for scholarly purposes, but would also make a fine use as a decorative element.

PF DIN Mono is the latest addition to the ever-growing set of DIN super-families by Parachute. It was based on its proportional counterpart DIN Text Pro but was completely redesigned to reflect its new identity. DIN Mono is a monospace typeface which is comprised of characters with fixed width. Traditionally, monospaced fonts have been used to create forms, tables and documents that require exact text line lengths and precise character alignment. DIN Mono, on the other hand, can prove to be more than a useful typeface for technical applications.
