A. R. Bosco made Romany for ATF in 1934, when there was much demand for script types in advertising and publishing. It was the high times of Speedball lettering, and a casual script in that fashion was naturally very welcome. It became an instant hit and was used widely for a good part of the 1930s and 1940s. Apricot is not only a revival of Bosco's work, but also a major expansion of it. It contains very effective solutions to the many problems presented by the original metal type, which had to always be tracked too wide because of the forms of some of its letters. Solving these problems was not an easy task. A comprehensive set of alternates was designed to give the user the ability to replace some forms in certain uses, and a large set of two-, three-, and even four-letter ligatures was added to solve the awkwardness of some of the more common letter pairings. The resulting work is quite delightful, especially for those who like to take advantage of OpenType technology. Apricot is the rarest kind of script in digital type these days, the kind that is upright, round, bold, feminine, and distinctly young in appearance. This font include "long s", naturally, as typically medieval, and only a few special characters as there were not very often used in the text, no more than abbreviations. Added, a lot of accented characters no longer existing on this time. A render sheet, joined with the font file, makes it easy to identify on a keyboard. Communiqué is a variation on my Export Drive font family. It is a bold condensed stencil font of the kind traditionally used to mark tea chests, packing cases etc. Nowadays its applications are universal, although it is particularly well suited to branding or publishing projects which strive for a sense of freshness, urgency and immediacy, or a rugged, rough-and-ready feel.

Originally inspired by manufacturer badges on old laboratory equipment, Centrifuge sports soft geometric shapes, wedge serifs, and sharply-angled terminals. Imperia is derived from my Classic font Imperium – the Roman Original from the Trajan column. I pushed Imperia a lot further, adding two versions of swings. To make the family more usable I threw in my own version of lowercase letters for free; Roman did not have lowercase letters of that kind! The other three cuts – A, B, and C –have classic smallcaps.
