Very close thematically and in style to the rest of our “whimbats” (the Absurdies, Bizarries, Illustries, Genteta and Whimsies series), the Ombres contain a number of peculiar silhouettes and illustrations of people that range from cute to scary, with everything in between. Ombres offers152 pictures in 3 files. These imaginary characters were produced with different techniques: quick pencil sketches, ink, watercolour, though once digitized and simplified to bring them into the font files there is little apparent difference. The silhouettes, rather than flat shadows are more dimensional in their look, because they have been digitized retaining the original brushwork or pencil strokes of their source drawings. Some of them remind of the venerable tradition of metal stock cuts from vintage type foundries. The digitized results are quite different, but the energetic nature of the subjects has been mantained. Their vectorial file format means you can use them at any size with no loss of quality. Every Ombres dingbat offers ready-made images for a variety of creative projects. They can be used as they come or easily customized in any graphics program. A Sans Serif Family with a few unique relatives Our Bookable Sans Family was inspired by a lettering specimen from “Letters and Lettering” by Carlyle & Oring, but you'll find the inspiration has come a long way, baby. From its original reference of displaying a standard width and weight, to the two words showing a light narrow and a heavy wide, this friendly utilitarian display text face has grown to include three width families, with six weights from light to black each. The outliers of the family are Bookable Mondo: an uber heavyweight wide style exuding all brute power in an all-caps form, and Bookable Noir: a lightweight and narrow style with many unique alternate letterforms and ligatures that spoof film noir titling, but also goes off the rails having fun. This font came to be when I was creating a cake topper mockup (see the promo images) and didn't have a thick script font that I liked for it. So I got to work writing out some fun chunky cursive letters that could top a cake! The concept of breaking bread is an old one, often meaning two parties working together. In the Breaking Bread font, I've combined that heavy connecting script with a hand-lettered sans-serif uppercase set. It works in all lowercase, all uppercase, and title case with equal ease! I've also included a number of alternates and ligatures, so you can have a truly hand-written look when double-letter words show up, plus a few extra characters and swashes to add some pizzazz to your work. It's great for crafting a mug or t-shirt, creating a logo, or making product packaging! And all of those alternates are PUA-encoded, so they're easy to access in any character map. Vox Round is the softer version of the Vox family. The original brief for Vox was a extensive monoline typeface that can be both precise and friendly, yet contain enough choice of seamlessly interchangeable variants for the user to be able to completely transform the personality of the typeface depending on the application. Rational TW is the typewriter addition to the Rational family. It is a monospaced font building on the same principles as its proportional, neogrotesque brother, such as maximum legibility and flexibility while combining Swiss and American gothic elements with a modern aesthetic. Due to the monospaced environment, some of its letter shapes like “r”, “m”,“f”, “i” and “w” have been slightly adapted but kept the same in appearance. Clementine, from Okaycat, is a font designed to be expressive. First, we wanted Clementine to be uplifting, friendly and warm. Secondly, we wanted it to be familiar, but neither staid nor boring. To make Clementine more warm and friendly, 90 degree corners and cubic forms were not allowed. All straight edges are either subtly curved or lightly tapered (with the small exception of the serif foundations, to create a secure base). To add an uplifting feel, all tapering flows towards the apex of the forms and the ascenders were allowed extra rising freedom above the capital height, similar to the effect intended in the architecture of old European churches -- to point all elements gently upwards towards heaven. To keep Clementine familiar, traditional type setting shapes were used throughout the font. To avoid the usual coldness of typical typewritten fonts, all forms were opened up, calligraphic touches were introduced, and any unnecessary serif elements were omitted. The result is a look that brings a touch of nostalgia or a "retro" feel. Clementine is highly appropriate anywhere a soft and friendly feel is desired. Can work well as a body text, or as ad copy. The Comic-Script by ingoFonts In the past cartoons used to be lettered by hand. Hardly anyone does this today. The reason is, because hardly anyone has nice handwriting these days, so there are practical advantages in having a special font. However the font should still look like it’s been written by hand. Well, most script fonts don’t meet this requirement. The LeDrôle Lettering is a computer font, but closely resembles genuine handwriting. The model for the LeDrôle Lettering is my personal handwriting, as can be seen on the example of the Biró Script, which is also an ingoFont. The habit of capitalization comes from the Romanic and Anglo-Saxon countries. Depending on the purpose they are designed in three significantly bolder weights. In order for the typeface to actually look handwritten, it needs to have clearly visible irregularities. These are not found only in the shapes of the individual letters. Even though LeDrôle Lettering is all in capital letters, the characters of uppercase and lowercase letters are clearly different. Additionally, many alternative shapes are used, which are automatically applied when the OpenType “Ligatures” feature is activated. Thus, there are no identical double letters or numerals, and many character combinations are defined as ligatures with alternative forms.

Introducing HEXA’s second family-font, Retro Games Font. The RetroGames font is a witty reinterpretation of the fonts found in 90s 16-bit games that we enjoyed when we were young, presented as bitmap imaged fonts. It offers superior legibility and aesthetic sensibility compared to many other existing bitmap fonts. For instance, while most bitmap fonts create one stroke with 1 pixel or have various thicknesses in pixels, we have standardized it to a maximum of one stroke with 1-3 pixels, enhancing both legibility and aesthetic appeal. Since there are many similar bitmap fonts, we wanted to reinterpret it as a genre of its own. Momoiro is a feminine typeface family, designed for editorial use. "The first case in which appeared a fashion content in a magazine was in 1672 in the magazine Le Mercure Galant, which was a magazine of entertainment and varied content, including fashion. But the first illustrated and specialized magazine was Le Journal Des Dammes Et Des Modes, created in 1797. "(Fashion Trends, 2011). On the basis of this historical period, the creation of typography has characteristics of a Baroque type. "In this category we mainly include the types created in the Netherlands during the seventeenth century and whose protagonists are the punch makers Reinhard Voskens and Christoffel Van Dijck. Baroque typography stands out for its accentuated play of irregular axes and contrasts that permeate the text of great vividness. " Therefore it has contrast in the thick and thin strokes, Roman serifs, humanistic axis. With this typography, we are not looking for a re-reading of the baroque, but rather a current typeface with humanistic characteristics of the handwriting, with a brush as a differential. Momoiro comes in two weights plus italics to cover as much design needs as possible. Article to appear on the font family page: According to the Catholic faith, a well known náhuatl story called "Nican Mopohua" (translated as "Here it's narrate") about the Marianas apparitions on the Tepeyac's hill, to the north of the actual Mexico City. After four apparitions, La Virgen de Guadalupe (LVG) told Juan Diego (JD) that he must introduce himself to the first Bishop of Mexico. JD took in his "ayate" some roses (that aren't natives to Mexico's barren territories) and when he dropped them in front of the bishop, the image of LVG appeared in front of him with indigenous features. I’ve worked a lot in this font that appears to came out of nowhere, just like the image of LVG itself, the fact is that I started first sketching some flowers, because I wanted to do something related to this mexican story, so, taking some features from this flowers I started sketching some letters, for example “r” and “i” and the counter forms for some letters like “a” and “o” (that I didn’t use by the way) and the punctuation marks, all inspired by this leaf forms. Hazim is a display font designed with isolated letters. It uses thin white slits positioned within extra bold black space glyphs emphasizing the main visual characteristics of the Arabetic letters in two positions: initial/medial and final/isolated. The spacing widths between glyphs match that of the slits to give a virtual cursive look and feel. The name Hazim was chosen to honor a friend of the designer, Hazim al-Khafaji. Hazim supports all Arabetic scripts covered by Unicode 6.1, and the latest Arabic Supplement and Extended-A Unicode blocks, including support for Quranic texts. It comes with one weight and a left-slanted “italic”. The script design of this font family follows the Arabetics Mutamathil Taqlidi style and utilizes varying x-heights. The Mutamathil Taqlidi type style uses one glyph per every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined by the Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph, for each freely-connecting letter in an Arabic text. Hazim includes the required Lam-Alif ligatures in addition to all vowel diacritic ligatures. Hazims’s soft-vowel diacritic marks (harakat) are only selectively positioned with most of them appearing on similar lower or upper positions to make sure they do not interfere with the letters. Victorian Orchid is a gorgeous vintage flower. Victorian Orchid is a beautiful, organic serif font family available for both text and display. Its bizarre serifs for A and other diagonal letterforms came from decorative types and letterings in old Victorian era. These unusual serifs support and enhance the horizontal flow of the eyes and vertical alignments. Very eye-catching lowercase g also came from the Victorian era and this is one of the most dramatic letterform of this font. Lowercase such like n and d also have horizontal serifs which designed in the same theory. Victorian Orchid is somewhat organic, humanistic and soft-impression font like Transitional Serif as typified by Times New Roman. But at the same time, this font has horizontal serif and vertical stressed letterform like Modern Serif. They make this font sharp, handsome and neat. In addition, Victorian Orchid has low contrast and the serifs are not too flat and not too coved. By them, Victorian Orchid create strong and casual impression like Slab Serif fonts. Most of my fonts tend to skew more to the darker side in terms of themes and uses. So, as a challenge, I took it upon myself to design a font through the eyes of my wife. Josephine, having a sunny and carefree disposition, gave this font her blessing as being certifiably fun and cheerful. The name of the font comes from the Cantonese translation for "peach" (tow); and saying it twice (toto) is just a cuter way of putting it. Sort of like "Peachy". It's been my nickname for Josephine for as long as I can remember. Linotype Ergo was designed by American Gary Munch, and was a winner in Linotype's Second International Digital Design Contest in 1997. Conceived as a blend of traditional and modern type concepts, it works as a legible text family as well as a lively display or headline font. The word ergo means consequently," but it also comes from the Greek word "ergon" for "work." Consequently, Munch sees this family as full of energy -- an ideal font for working hard to make a point, and able to get it across with friendly vigor. The strokes of the characters are carefully designed to accommodate the tendency of the eye to enlarge horizontals and perceive verticals as lighter. The lowercase forms have open, friendly counters and are enhanced by small quirks, such as the slightly leaning s and the wide t. The deep branching of curves from main strokes helps this humanist sans to be very readable at smaller sizes. Universo and Universo Stencil by Mauro Andrés and Peggo Fonts is a display font family for “Caos Sagrado” specially designed for informative fanzine and magazines. Its name “Universo” comes from the quote “we have to talk about the horrible things of Universe” with the main idea of supporting and help to expose social problems. Inspired on Retro-Futuristic fonts and poster design and old scientific publications that is becoming a new design trend nowadays, and strongly influenced by the Italian type designer Aldo Novarese’s work, developed in the 50’s. "Universo CS" and "Universo CS Stencil" were produced between mid-September and October 2018 by Mauro Andrés under the creative direction of Victoria Rivas and those versions were publicly showed at “Impresionante” (a massive independent printing expo in Chile) with a printed specimen. Carlton is based on a typeface designed by Prof. F. H. Ehmcke. In 1908, Ehmcke released his Ehmcke-Antiqua design through the Flinsch typefoundry in Germany. Ehmcke-Antiqua was later distributed by the Bauer typefoundry in Frankfurt am Main. The Caslon Letter Foundry in England discovered the design and released their own typeface based upon the model, which they named Carlton. Carlton entered the Stephenson Blake program after they acquired the Caslon Letter Foundry in the late 1930s. As hot and cold metal typesetting became outdated technologies, Carlton and Ehmcke-Antiqua fell out of general use. In the 1990s, Letraset revived this classic design, distributing it under its English name, Carlton. Carlton's clean and generous capitals, as well as its understated yet detailed lower case, have found popularity again in recent years. The elegance of Carlton is best used for displays with large letter and word spacing. Carlton shows all of the hallmarks of a delicate serif typeface design; its forms capture a distinct moment that was common within Central European type design during the first third of the 20th Century.
