Graphit is a typeface designed by Lit Design Studio & curated by HvD Fonts. It combines clear, geometric shapes with edgy yet finely-crafted details. Graphit features uncompromising characters such as G, Q, f, k and 1. It works well both for impactful headlines and for reading sizes. The type family consists of six weights plus matching italics. In early 2018, Livius Dietzel & Tom Hoßfeld started developing the typeface’s essential character and released a free font named after the studio, Lit. Just a few months later, Hannes von Döhren had a look at the typeface and suggested expanding it into a family – then publishing it with HvD Fonts. They drew every single letter from scratch, and also decided to give the font a new name — Graphit. The family features six low-contrast weights, ranging from Black to Thin. Every character has been crafted to give it a distinctive and individual feel. Medium, Regular and Light are optimized for usage in copy text. For smaller font sizes & longer body copy, the alternate character set features a double-story a and a simplified Q, f, r and t for improved legibility. Designed by the renowned Robert Hunter Middleton of Chicago’s Ludlow Typograph Company, this “serifless roman” was first introduced in 1929. Middleton has created a transitional face linking the traditional thick and thin serifs of the times with the new Futura and Kabel design imports. With its slightly flared main strokes, Stellar predates in many respects Hermann Zapf's Optima by thirty years. Highly effective where an elegant and warm feeling is desired. This typeface is faithful to the original letterforms of the Stellar design. Stellar Classic is also available in the OpenType Std format. Some new characters have been added as stylistic alternates in this new version. Stylistic alternates and other advanced features currently work in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Creative Suite Illustrator, and Quark XPress 7. Atlan—a Latin ‘spin-off’ of classic geometric sans typefaces. Remembering typefaces like ‘Kabel’ by Rudolf Koch, while paying attention to current design needs, was the starting point for ‘Atlan’—a simple, elegant and appealing font. This typeface is based on highly expressive sans-serif geometric fonts of the 1920s. We challenged ourselves to reinterpret these characteristics, without losing expressiveness, in order to create a functional and versatile design. This process resulted in a font with display features, well-suited for light, uniform-coloured texts. The family offers a variety of styles from the elegant Thin weight—ideal for publishing and corporate websites—to the Heavy variant (perfect for logotypes and packaging), which reveals the stylistic elements of the typeface.

Throughout the history of typography there have been countless attempts to simplify the alphabet. In the early 20th century, modernist designers experimented with reducing the alphabet to basic geometric shapes. Prozac pushes this utopian experiment further by reducing the roman alphabet to just six shapes. These shapes are then flipped or rotated to make up the 26 letters of the alphabet. Prozac is available without prescription in lite and max versions.

Aphrosine is a font based on pointed pen script. A huge lot of alternatives and smart OpenType features allow it to look almost indistinguishable from real live handwriting. Aphrosine is something between handwriting and calligraphy: it took too much effort for being “just handwriting” but lacks seriousness and regularity comparing to true calligraphic fonts. That’s why it was called after a peculiar character from a children’s book: a witch who was very fond of dressing, makeup and writing letters. Aphrosine has three faces. But unlike most other type families, the glyphs from one face do not match exactly the glyphs from another one. The faces are based on writing with different nibs but by the same hand. The type is designed by Alexandra Korolkova and Alexander Lubovenko and released by ParaType in 2015.

Based on bold script Banco designed by French graphic and poster designer Roger Excoffon and released in 1952 by the Fonderie Olive. Bohemio was designed in memory of Gunter Böhmer, an artist famous for his many book covers of the 1950s in Germany. The cover I took as an inspiration for this font is that of a book called Stiller (by Max Frisch). Bohemio sounds similar to "Böhmer" (which means the one from Bohemia) and it is also an alliteration to artisty. Frederic Goudy designed Tory in the spirit of the ‘lettres batarde’ found Geoffry Tory’s Champ Fleury. He was looking to create a romantic type for which to typeset the book Auccasin et Nicolette. It was one of Goudy’s favorite typefaces of his own creation and it is digitized by Steve Matteson to preserve that legacy.
