Bakeshop is a casual script font family. It is drawn with rounded marker so the contrast is quite low. It has bumps at the end of strokes where the pen has stopped and the ink has spread. If your looking for a vintage animated typestyle that still feels current today, you've just found it! Mushmouth PB started as a digitization of a film typeface called "Albert" by LetterGraphics. This all capitals font has a super subtle bounce and a playful heavy weight. An extruded film variation of this typeface was used back in the day on Post's Frosted Rice Krinkles cereal. Named in tribute to the original font name "Albert", we picked a fellow member of Fat Albert's gang for the name of this font. The hand lettered credits from the 1942 British film comedy “The Goose Steps Out” became the model for Goose Creek JNL, a simple sans serif design available in both regular and oblique versions. According to the Internet Movie Database (imdb), “A bumbling teacher turns out to be the double of a German general. Kari Display is the product of a long standing idea I had to give the well-received Positype typeface, Kari, plastic surgery. Just referring to giving a typeface plastic surgery, or letter lipo, stuck in the back of my head until I was able to pick the project up. The ultimate objective was to refine Kari Display to a point where each glyph was expressed as simple as possible... and in that simplicity a sexiness would appear. Kari is a beautiful script, but it is very 'controlled' and orderly and I wanted Kari Display to break that mold with much more movement, curviness, greater modulation and a more elegant feel on the page. I did not want to take it too far, limiting the use of the typeface, but rather opted for a delicate balance of thick and thin against the added movement of the glyphs. The wealth of sketches and proposed variants during the concepting phase was encouraging and I really pushed to add as many alternate characters, ligatures, swashes (and more) as I possibly could. Just about every character has at least one or more alternates AND the complete offering of alternates completely covers a wide range of Latin-based language groups including Central European diacritics. If you are using any type of OpenType enabled application, then the Kari Display Pro typefaces are the way to go. Traditionalists felt that discarding serifs from some forms and giving unusual curves and edges to others might be something new, but not something better. Stubble is a distressed grunge font with many useful variations that make things easy. It comes in both a Regular and Bold version, and a Smudged version as if the print block has slipped a little bit just at the vital moment. Also there’s 2 jumbled versions with the letters and numbers, and some punctuation, at odd angles and slightly off-whack; there’s 2 versions with little bits of overprint on most of the main characters (as if the corners of the block or stamp have just caught the paper); a couple of Caps Only versions; plus condensed and expanded versions of the main faces. The Bold version is not an exact expanded version of the Regular version, please note, the characters are different (i.e. the misprinting is different) in the two weights. Western and Central European accented characters are included, and there’s a set of replacements for double-letter combinations such as bb, dd and OO, TT, so that 2 different letters will appear - which avoids having exactly the same grunge letter appearing twice in succession (20 or more pairings for each case, all the pairings that reasonably exist) which work as ligature replacements. The whole family constitutes a comprehensive package that offers a great variety of ways of presenting a grunge typeface for display, headlines and posters, while maintaining the thread of the same sans-serif style. The shapes of the f-holes on a violin reminded German designer André Maaßen of an italic letter "f". Maaßen used these captivating contours as the theme for his type family, Varius. The name "Varius" is an homage to the manufacturer of the violin that inspired Maaßen's project, Antonio Stradivarius, the most famous manufacturer of violins in music history. Varius has three separate styles. Varius 1 and its italic are the base style of the family, and are typefaces in the baroque serif manner. Varius 2 and its italic are slab serif egyptiennes, slightly heavier than Varius 1's more classical forms. Varius 3 and its italic are semi serif faces; their characters are serifed, but some of the serifs have been cut off. The family is rounded out with two pi faces: an ornaments font (which can be used in conjunction with the text fonts, or on its own to create beautiful borders or individual decorative elements), and a font of musical symbols and notations. Pompeian Cursive is a calligraphically-inspired display typeface featuring a limited number of alternate characters and a handful of graceful ligatures. A lively set of non-lining numerals accompanies, as well as a few calligraphically-inspired flourishes for ornament. The history of this typeface: Oswald Cooper’s relationship with the Barnhart Brothers & Spindler foundry was one instigated under the auspices of creating new styles of type in lieu of following stylistic trends. In 1927, BB&S requested that Cooper create a script-like cursive typeface design in step with Lucien Bernhard’s Schoenschrift and ATF’s similarly-styled Liberty typeface. In response to BB&S’s desire to emulate instead of innovate, Cooper wrote to Mcarthur, “I am desolated to see Barnhart’s hoist the black flag. Your own efforts through the years to boost the foundry into a place in the sun as an originator seem wasted.” Still, Cooper took up the task at hand, creating a delicate, sophisticated type design which he named Pompeian Cursive. The typeface featured a limited number of alternate characters and a handful of graceful ligatures. A lively set of non-lining numerals accompanied, as well as a few calligraphically-inspired flourishes for ornamenting the end of lines of type accompanied the typeface, as well. Pompeian Cursive is a typeface which functions as both a display face and a limited text face.
