The type “Vandalismo 26” is a tribute to the calligraphy style that 'screams' over the front of the buildings in the center of São Paulo/Brazil. This underground calligraphy, known as "pichação" or "pixo”, is a movement that expresses disagreement and rejection against the system. For some critics, this “vandalism” is considered to be the most disruptive and conceptual contemporary art today. It is a type to be used in headlines. Vandalismo 26 is a mix of the chaotic pixo style representing the nonconformity of a generation. It is a protest to the system in a typographic format.

Indenture English Penman is based on research into original English and American indenture contracts from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, mostly with roundhand scripts, paragraph versals in Old English script and many, many flourishes. This font has a little of everything, with hundreds of glyphs: dozens of versals to each alphabet letter, some versals in Old English style, plus flourishes to use at beginnings of paragraphs or chapters, and many additional flourishes to create perfect ancient documents. To better use the resources of this font we suggest using the Glyphs resource in Illustrator and other software.

VLNL Gaufre is a pixel-based font with holes designed by Donald Roos. Each character is built on a grid of doughnut-like elements, which makes it look like a kind of dried dog food, or Belgian waffles. Despite the grid Gaufre still has enough warmth due to the doughy, slightly rounded corners. And because it’s prepared with a hot waffle iron of course. The end result is a merry, chunky typeface that smells of doughnut. Use it for logos or headlines, just add butter and sugar or, better still, top it with whipped cream and cherries. Yummie!

The hand lettered title found on the cover of the 1932 sheet music for “Dancing Marathon” inspired the digital revival of this unusual lettering as well as the font’s name. This eccentric Art Deco design (with a slight bit of Art Nouveau mixed in) is a thin, monoline typeface. Dancing Marathon JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions. Dance marathons got their start during the Great Depression as people desperate to earn a few dollars would enter into contests that went on for hours until the last couple remained standing on the dance floor.

Cavita Rounded typeface is a mix between both grotesque and calligraphic models: regulars have a rough grotesque spirit, while the italics where inspired in calligraphic gestures. All of these details are reinforced with an inverted modulation (horizontals strokes are thicker than usual). The italics seem to move away from the traditional concept of type system, but work very well alongside. Hogar Slab, based on the Hogar typeface, is the result of combining a script and a slab serif into a single type system. The system has a monolinear style composed of a slab serif and a script slab serif version that share similar proportions, weight interpolations and details. Hogar Slab is basically a slab serif with script gestures and a script with slab serif shapes. In order to make the system more complete, I included an italic version, which represents a transition between both main styles. Victorixel is a pixel font that incorporates the Victorian wood-type style. In order to organically combine these two styles, I abandon the exaggerated and ornate shape, yet the essence of the wood type was retained, such as the forked serif at the beginning and end of the letter stem. Tabulamore is a monospaced script typeface with two goals: to make a script face that looks as natural as possible within the limitation of monospace, and to offer better all-cap solution where many script typefaces fail to address. The typeface style is generally a loosely spaced casual script, whose spacing allows big letters like M W m to fit comfortably. The automatic small cap part is based on so-called Architect�s Casual style, and shows up automatically depending on the context. As the name suggests, it is perfect for someone who likes to express their love in monospace format.

Initially, I participated in the contest to design the logo for Bill Lloyd. In the end, the design was rejected, but letters remained. I then decided to continue with the idea and complete the entire typeface. After a couple of months, I realized that the typeface was imperfect, and now that I’m working on an updated Lloyd type, this one is free. The main characteristic of the typeface is its bold and curvy shapes. It is also tall and original in design. It was a great experience because it taught me how failure inspires people to move on, and create something better.

Ingleby II is a typeface with firm roots in the classic stroke of the pen. Back to the basics. In the last ten years, type design has been confronting chaotic scene. The font market is flooded with a mixture of wheat and chaff and typography becomes increasingly complex. But one golden straight path exists. The path began from the industrial revolution, passing through swiss style, now we walk along the path as a matter of course. It is sans-serif. The decades from the Swiss style, namely "less is more age" to the contemporary basic style "Less, but better age", we call it golden decades. In those decades, type design met modernism. Go back to a theory in the golden decades, we redesigned new geometric, minimal sans-serif. Less is more and better. We added cool and calm spices to the modernism in the golden decades. As a result, letterform has a contemporary, sharp, and neutral atmosphere, and geometric rounded bowls and counters create a nice rhythm. Golden Decades consists of 8 weights and their matching Italics for a wide range of usages. Farther, Golden Decades is supporting international Latin languages and basic Cyrillic languages including Basic Latin, Western Europe, Central and South-Eastern Europe. Also, Golden Decades covers Mac Roman, Windows1252, Adobe1 to 3. This wide range of international characters expands the capability of your works. Being inspired by early Czech type design, Maiola is clearly a contemporary typeface, that is mindful of its historical heritage, implementing old-style features and calligraphic reminiscence, more frankly so in the Italic. Nevertheless, through its personality, it attempts to create a welcoming tension on the page, without shouting too loudly at the reader. It handles its expressive tendencies with care and in doing so increases its usability, with legibility being of great importance. Subtle irregularities of the letterforms enhance furthermore the dynamic spirit and liveliness of the typeface. With the advent of Opentype, allowing for bigger character-sets and better language support, as a natural consequence, Maiola Multiscript covers Latin A, Cyrillic and Greek. Although basically independent from each other, they are, however, designed in the same spirit as the Latin, and harmonize well in multilingual text settings. The update to this beautiful font family includes the addition of over 240 glyphs featuring new ornaments, stylistic alternates, ligatures, superior letters, fractions and more. Furthermore, several glyphs were significantly improved and the kerning was fine tuned for better performance. Originally released in 2005, Maiola was an immediate success. One of the earliest fonts published by Canada Type was Almanac, Phil Rutter's digitization of Imre Reiner's 1957 calligraphic typeface, London Script. In 2007, when the font was revisited for an update, it was shown that it too light for applications under 24 pt, and too irregular for applications over 64 pt. So the face was redigitized from scratch, using larger originals. This new digitization maintains a soft contour and, slightly darker and steadier stroke, and much better outlines for use at both extremes of scaling. Language support was also greatly expanded, and many alternates and ligatures were added to the redigitized character set. The name was also changed to Reiner Hand, to better reflect the origins of the design. Reiner Hand is soft and irregular jolts from a calligraphy master's hand.
