Display Prominent is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display, headline, logotype, branding, and similar applications. In place of a lowercase there are short caps that are centered horizontally on the tall caps. There are also short numbers, punctuation, and miscellaneous characters.

Mares is an unicase typeface inspired by the American psychedelic movement from the mid 1960’s where capitals and lowercase used to be mixed and distorted to become part of the image. Mares is a bold and modern psychedelic font for use on special occasions. The bigger the better.

Mulhouse is a city in Northern France. It has a nice historical center and a car museum. Mulhouse font is a ‘movie poster font’: it was modeled after old movie posters from the 50’s. It comes with swashes for the upper case glyphs and a generous sprinkling of diacritics.

A holiday issue for the then-weekly women’s fashion newspaper “Harper’s Bazar - Easter A. D. 1896” features the cover information in a beautiful condensed spurred serif type face with many flourishes to some of the letter forms. This family was created inspired from the typeface models hand drawn circa 1610s by Basilius Besler (Germany) for the carved plates of his spendid “Hortus eystettensis”, a botanical manual, masterpiece of the period. The design of Cyan was inspired by features found in classic Roman and styles like Trajan and Bodebeck. The characters stay true to the same features as the capitals, resulting in an unusually distinctive style. The Capitals version contains Roman numerals. Cyan's weight is similar to Trajan's but the horizontal strokes are slightly bolder resulting in better legibility for small sizes, especially for lowercase characters. Cyan Sans evolved out of the hugely successful Cyan Serif family. Cyan Sans retains the same geometric Roman proportions with open centers in B,P,R b, d, p . This helps create a thick and thin stroke illusion since the actual strokes don't vary much. There are many subtle details in Cyan Sans that become more interesting in larger sizes. MB NEGATIVESPACE was inspired on a trip to Birmingham with my wife, seeing a billboard with the main text and parts of it missing. The idea is to use it sparingly; use a good amount of tracking to fill in the blanks and it works even better. Great for headlines, displays logotypes and short texts.

Kevin Curtis runs a site called Damosel's Printer's Blocks, specializing in rare an unusual examples from the years when letterpress was the main source of printed material. He graciously provided the source material for Print Damosel JNL. The collected images represent a varied cross-section of ornamentation, embellishments, attention getters, decorations and whimsical illustrations.

Our font of the original was only ten point, so we had to use our imagination to a great extent. As specialists in Victorian typography, we have found that many people do not like the "center alignment" idea, used on several old time faces, but we have been faithful to the original. So there!
