The typeface name is “Amabile (Adorable, прекрасный, Αρκετά/Αξιολάτρευτο)”. It means “lovely” in music terms. The design feature reflects the feature of Japanese typeface “Waon”, as the depending latin characters of which this typeface is designed. “Amabile” briefly expresses the basic concept of Waon, to “Express a music with typeface”. The non-Japanese characters in the Japanese font are basically composed with Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek. In addition to these 3 types of characters, “Amabile” have the capability of 87 languages by extending character types so called “W1G”, which consists of Latin supplements, Cyrillic supplements, Greek supplements, Latin extensions. Reading is fun; legible with a playful wiggle, a bit of texture, and a lively set of double-letter ligatures. Reading wants to be read aloud and sounded out - lightened by comic relief and sweetened by a bit of style. The upper case is relatively straight, the lower case - slightly jumbled, and Reading’s numbers have excellent curls.

The sheet music for the 1914 Word War I comic novelty song "When the War Breaks Out in Mexico I'm Going to Go to Montreal" had one of those overly-worded song titles popular during this period (13!), along with interesting sans serif hand lettering. It now debuts digitally as Conscription JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

The Majapahit was a Javanese Hindu empire in Southeast Asia that was based on the island of Java. It existed from 1293 to circa 1527 and reached its peak of glory during the era of Hayam Wuruk, whose reign from 1350 to 1389 was marked by conquests that extended throughout Southeast Asia. Mirai, a new geometric sans font family, is clean, strong and composed yet effortlessly contemporary. Mirai is a Japanese word meaning “the future”. While inspired by iconic fonts throughout history, Mirai has its own unique character with a Zen-like neutral tone. Mirai’s geometric shapes, mono-line and especially its high X-height make it legible and easily recognizable. The Mirai font family is comprised of 12 styles with 6 different weights from Thin to black, along with matching italics. Each weight has been specifically designed to contrast with other weights offering countless possibilities for use in web, print, package and sign design.

The term Sanseki (Japanese for Three [Brush] Traces) is used to describe three famous Heian period calligraphers: Yaseki, Gonseki and Saseki. Not that I would ever dream of comparing my messy brush-work with theirs, but the name stuck and I kind of liked it. I used Chinese ink and a high quality brush (which I got in a sale actually) to create this font. All glyphs were hand painted in one go! Sanseki is a very detailed brush font. Upper and lower case letters mingle and there’s even an alternate for every lower case glyph. Comes with an abundance of diacritics.

Japanese type designer Akira Kobayashi created this serif FontFont in 1999. The family has 6 weights, (including italics) and is ideally suited for book text, editorial and publishing as well as small text. A Tarte Tatin is a French upside down apple pie. The story goes that one of the Tatin sisters (who ran Hôtel Tatin in Lamotte-Beuvron 169 km south of Paris), was baking a regular apple pie, but put the apples first and, realising her mistake, tried to rescue the dish by adding the pastry and sticking it in the oven. Tarte Tatin is a really nice all caps font. It was made with a Japanese brush pen on rough paper. Tarte Tatin comes with extensive language support and a set of alternates for the lower case letters.

Kaizena is a modern script font with alternates, final form, stylistic sets, including front and back swashes. It can be used for various purposes, and suitable for logo design, branding, greeting cards, stationery, wedding invitations and much more. The design of Kaizena nuanced Japanese style, but it is very feasible to use in modern themed designs. Kaizena uses OpenType Features, so designers can access alternate glyphs easily with graphic design softwares. Besides that, these alternate glyphs are located in Private Use Area, so they can be accessed easily with Character Map, Babel Map, or font manager softwares.

Inspired by Japanese robot animations in 80s such like Gundam and Ideon, Geom Graphic is a square geometric sans serif for wide range of usage. Iki Mono is a multifaceted monospaced typeface designed for publishing and coding. Its sans serif structure displays some letterforms (as well as a degree of contrast) that are reminiscent of 19th-century grotesques, while in the non-oblique versions the letters have been very slightly slanted leftwards. Like typewriter typefaces Iki Mono has to cope with the limitations of a width system that forces shapes into a specific space.
