A 1940s ad flier for the Los Angeles restaurant “Lucca Paris Inn” had its name hand lettered at the top of the page in a condensed Art Deco slab serif with some stylized characters. This was put together by Dan X. Solo to provide a quick way to set headings for a circus brochure. The name was given in recognition of the Baraboo Circus Museum. The end pieces are in pairs on the uppercase keys A-B, C-D, etc. The alphabet itself is in the lowercase position.

Here is another attempt to create a font for invitation work unlike any already out in the world. In casting about for a name, I decided to call it Valerie after Valerie Hope, a mindreader of days long gone, who played California theatres in the 1930s and 1940s. And who, incidentally, was my mother.

Moi Non Plus is a wonderful, handwritten font. It has a somewhat chaotic look, but is stylish nonetheless. The name was taken from a famous Serge Gainsbourg song called 'Je t'aime - moi non plus', which caused a bit of a scandal when it was released in the '60's, due to its overtly sexual content.

The cover of "Intermediate Steps to the Band" (an instructional book for marching band originally published by Mills Music in 1947) featured the title in a hand lettered multi-line sans serif with Art Deco influence. Re-drawn as a digital typeface named Marching Band JNL, it is available in both regular and oblique versions.

ITC Buckeroo was designed by Rick Mueller in 1997, and as the name suggests, it is reminiscent of the Wild West in the US. It is a small caps alphabet with extremely heavy characters, which makes it particularly good for headlines. This ornamental font should be used in point sizes of 12 or larger.

The 1912 American Type Founders specimen catalog carried the pattern for this typeface, under the rather unimaginative name of "Pen Print". Its irrepressible insouciance makes it equally suitable for downtown or down home applications. A Bottle Brush (a.k.a. Callistemon) is an Australian shrub. Its flowers resemble, well, bottle brushes, hence the name. Bottle Brush is also a very messy, yet quite lovely brush font. I made it with a Japanese brush pen. It comes with a bunch of alternate glyphs, some ligatures and a whole lot of diacritics!

A typeface from the 1873 Miller & Richard of Glasgow specimen book of 1873 named Cuban provided the inspiration for this festive face. Its graceful curves and open stance gently whisper nostalgia, with traces of both the quaint and the exotic. Both versions contain the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

This time we designed a font of ink streaks on paper and named it Sketching. We loved creating it because this is a work of art in itself, making it through a long process. Every letter we made has always maintained its distinctive style. We hope you are all happy with our latest font.

Buratino font got its name from a title character of Russian fairy tale — a clone of Pinocchio. Initially font was cut from a log and then scanned and converted into outline format. The font contains just upper case characters. Can be used in advertising and display typography. Designer — Gennady Fridman. Released by ParaType in 2009.

CompassOne was a design I began in 1990 or so, but did not bother to finish until five years later. Its name comes from the fact that all the letters could have been drawn with a compass (which draws circles) and a straight edge. The typeface Demotte was a further development of this design idea.

Overton JNL is based on some of the preliminary letter designs by Rudolf Wolf which evolved into his 1929 type design Memphis and is available in both regular and oblique versions. Memphis was the design model for the later typeface family Stymie and Overton JNL was named after Overton Park; located in Memphis, Tennessee.
