The Hybi5 font family can be described as a “crossover” between Antiqua, Grotesque and Brushscript with characteristics from all of this genres. My aim was to design friendly and versatile fonts, which can be used for headlines or slogans as well as for some longer texts. To make the fonts useful for as many languages as possible, I added a lot of exotic accents. All styles contain the whole “Adobe Latin 3 (CE)” character set plus a few letters from “Adobe Latin 4”. A lot of ligatures prettify the look of the fonts. Alternate uppercase letters in the script style might do the same. If you are a professional designer, you will surely appreciate the thousands of kerning pairs within each style, which will make your work easier. I recommend to set Kerning to “metric” and spacing to “zero” in your layout app. Back in 2015 I worked on the first sketches of “Hybi5” using Adobe Illustrator. “Fontself Maker”, an extension for Illustrator, was used to convert the drawings into font-files. This tool can only create “OTF” font files. For this reason there are no “TTF” versions. It’s not the first font I have ever made, but the first to be distributed commercially.

946 is a multilingual techno-style family developed by Berlin-based type designer Roman Wilhelm (RomanType). While more and more text families have recently been extended to a multilingual and multi-script level, not so much attention has been given to the more decorative styles. The 946 family does exactly that. A lot of care has been given to the various diacritics: they were designed a little more brutal, a little more European than with some other fonts of this category. Do also watch out for the non-Latin legs of this family. 946 is inspired by electronic music. When Roman found a second-hand Roland TR-606 drum machine in a store in his hometown back in 1995, he started to hang out with would-be DJs and musicians, trying to play the beats that went around the globe. When he started to study visual communication three years later, he was assigned the matriculation number of 946, which has now become the name of this family. M Razor is so called ""neo Sung-style"" typefaces. Crossbars (橫) and stems (豎) are orthogonal and upright. Their entry and finial points are squarish, parallel without flare. Contrast of strokes is extremely high. This creates sharpness, stiffness in the midst of elegance of Sungti. Even distribution of space, careful positioning, size and proportion of radicals create a slightly expanded, opened and balanced construction. Zhonggong are slightly expanded, its relatively less inter-character spacing makes the line of text better coupled and aligned. Lettering found on the cover of the 1923 song "I Love Me (I'm Wild About Myself)" can take on various graphical possibilities. Although its design is Art Nouveau in concept, it is somewhat reminiscent of the "bubble letters" most school kids used to doodle on notebook and portfolio covers; yet the lettering style also evokes the 1960s-70s Hippie movement. As a sidebar, a couple of lines from the song's lyrics were used by Jeff Levine's late mother to chastise him as a youth when he got "a little too full of himself". The lyrics were: "I love me! While similar, the fonts are not interchangeable. Shapes of some letters have changed, kerning and spacing are different. Tall Skinny Condensed does not have a full character set. Ultra Condensed Lettered is a hand lettered version of the hard edged Ultra Condensed. Ultra Condensed Line also hand lettered, is a thinner version of Ultra Condensed Lettered. In 1935, Rudolph Ruzicka approached W.A. Dwiggins at Linotype in the USA and handed him six typeface design sketches. These later led to the typeface family now known as Fairfield. The concept for ‘Scroll’ came to me fully formed when setting out to design a bold display typeface. The premise for this was to base the letter-forms on a rolled strip of paper. A simple enough idea in principle but one I hadn't seen before. After working out the basic characters I set about completing the full effect I was after. This was achieved by applying a suitably incised line following the curve at each turning point to convey the important three-dimensional aspects of a scroll. Although the phonetic name personifying the font was there as a working title from the outset, I didn't commit to it fully until everything was completely resolved.

Neustade is a layered typeface based on a simple grid, taking inspiration from the work of Wim Crouwel and Foundry Types. I challenged myself to create a typeface where words and letters can appear within or outside of other words and letters with the help of layering. Neustades grid also applies to the spacing and kerning of individual letters or words, ensuring that every layer will line up and allowing different weights to interact with each other. Individually each weight within the Neustade family has been designed with legibility at small sizes in mind, allowing for smooth and uninterrupted reading. Neustade in large sizes feels both modern and retro, especially when mixing weights and colors.

Toothpaste Two is a reworking of Toothpaste . The new font has all the features of the original Toothpaste, but is now even crazier, with the line twisting and turning over and under itself, making a tangled string of text bordering on the edge of legibility. As in Toothpaste, every letter and number connects and there are numerous contextual alternates and ligatures to keep it all running smoothly. This is a fun, decorative font. It would look good on kids' websites, scrapbooks, party invitations and the like. It works best in brighter colors on darker backgrounds, which give the characters a neon light quality. Also, try it with a stroke for a cool cartoony effect.

The Sica Family was designed in order to address issues related to technology, while maintaining humanistic forms. Thus, a font with square shapes emerged, but with smooth curves and slightly rounded terminals making it friendly. The family has three widths – condensed, normal and expanded – each of them with six weights and their respective italics, resulting in 36 fonts. With particular details and open shapes that increase legibility, it can be used for both text compositions as well for display sizes. It has 774 glyphs, covering more than 50 languages, as well as ligatures, lining, oldstyle, tabular and proportional figures, fractions, superiors, inferiors, and small caps, all of them accessible through OpenType features.
