Torpedo is a five-weight rounded, compressed sans serif font family. It was designed by Steve Jackaman over a several-year period, and was released in 2017 alongside its sister typefaces Coliseum Pro and Clydesdale. Torpedo, whose name was inspired by round torpedo warheads, is a visually sturdy font that maintains excellent legibility. Torpedo is flexible in its applications, like its violent namesake; it is explosive at large sizes, and still works efficiently at low profiles.

Monthly Calendar JNL is a companion font to Calendar Blocks JNL, and features classic wood type lettering and numerals from the 1800s. A set of large numbers are on their own keys, while the numbers 1-31 reside on the A-Z and a-e keys respectively. The days of the week are on the lower case “f” through “l” keys, while the names of the months are found on the “m” through “x” positions. An open rectangle is on the lower case “y” key, and a solid black rectangle is on the “z”. For those who wish to use the 23/30 and 24/31 configurations, they can be found on the left and right parenthesis.

Montage has played a weighty role in some of the most influential and enduring typography of the past few decades, from book jackets and album covers, to posters and logos…you name it. Gelion is a large family of geometric sans serif fonts. It ships both as two Variable Fonts or as 16 traditional fonts. Those static fonts span eight different weights, ranging from Extralight to Black. Each has an upright and an italic font on offer. The italics are carefully crafted, with an 8° slope. Gelion is inspired by 20th-century geometric sans serifs and classic neo-grotesque designs from the late 19th century and the middle of the 20th century. Its forms remain true to the gracefully geometric look of its classic predecessors, which will surely tick off any client’s long list of branding requirements. Letters in all of Gelion’s weights are drawn with virtually monolinear strokes. Its lowercase letters have a tall x-height. Yet, that still leaves enough room for the fonts’ diacritical marks. Gelion’s default “a” and “g” each have single-storey forms by default. The dots on the ‘i’, ‘j’, and diacritics are round, as are the punctuation marks. Gelion is an excellent choice for both corporate design and editorial design projects, thanks to its range of weights and its legibility in text. The fonts include a lot of ligatures, some monochromatic emoji, a set of arrows, lovely Roman Numerals, and more. Thanks to Gelion’s stylistic alternates, if a project comes up where you do not need a geometric vibe, you can activate Stylistic Set 1. That will replace many of the fonts’ letters with more humanistic-sans alternates, giving your text the feeling of a whole other type design with just one click. Last but not least, the descending “f” available in Gelion’s italics is a nice typographic trait.

This is a monospace font for the Braille alphabet. The idea came while exploring new ways to display the regular braille glyph ( 3 rows of 2 dots ). The glyph design is inspired by "stackable multiple board" games like the famous Vulcan chess (from Star Trek series) and the Qubic (3D tic-tac-toe). The stack is made from 3 levels, each level is a 3x3 grid with 2 "playable" cells (South-West and North-East). Each cell can be either empty, filled by a white square token or a black square token. The 3D effect is obtained by means of the classic isometric perspective. Lowercase letters use black tokens, while uppercase letters use white tokens. Most special characters (e.g. digits, *$#@, []{}() etc.. ) are also provided for special usages like program source code (see poster 5).

Designed by Nadine Chahine, the Amariya™ typeface family is intended for long form, on-screen textual content. It supports the Arabic, Persian and Urdu languages. The design is consistent with traditional text typeface models popular in the Middle East, but has a lower level of stroke contrast optimized for on-screen reading. The family is available in nine weights ranging from a light hairline to a very bold black. The middle weights are intended for setting text copy while the extreme hairline and black designs are best suited for headlines, sub heads and similar applications. The Amariya family can be used for numerous projects from branding to blogs, in a variety of interactive design environments on both large and small screens. Emulating real handwriting has always been an aim of font designers in the digital age. The standard mainstream scripts and doodles that were available for the longest time have not successfully reached that goal. A letter always looked the same wherever you placed it. Some workarounds, such as letter alternates and ligatures, were used in many fonts, but they were a bit inconvenient to use, and in some cases didn't work correctly because they had to be placed in separate fonts from the main character set. Not until now, with OpenType technology, have we been able to emulate real handwriting, by including multiple character sets in the same font and programming it for smart form changes through letter sequence counting. Secret Scrypt was the first Canada Type font to make it to the bestseller list in the summer of 2004. In early 2005 a New York restaurant chain picked Secret Scrypt to use on its menus and internal signage, but they wanted to look even more like real handwriting, where two or three instances of the same letter used in one word would automatically change and look different from each other. Using OpenType technology, Canada Type produced a Secret Scrypt Pro for that restaurant chain under the direction of Mucca Design in New York City. That initial version contained three different character sets in the same font, and some intelligent programming that determines the sequence of the letters and change their shapes accordingly. Dorica is a serif font family optimized for small sizes. It is very sober and simple, with a classic appearance at first sight but the curves and details like the serifs make it very different. The name is inspired by Doric, the simplest of the three orders of organizational systems of ancient Greece. In 2011, while tutoring an exercise on Slab Serifs, Josema discovered Robert Thorne’s work for Thorowgood. Specifically, he was fascinated by the extraordinary density of the 6-line Egyptian Pica from 1820-21. As a simple exercise, he wanted to test the limits of readability within the context of a contemporary alphabet. Rothwood Ultra is the result of this experiment. As a way of developing the series, he found it interesting to go to the opposite end of the spectrum and discover how to evolve the extra-black Ultra’s DNA into a super lightweight model. The Hairline and Thin styles are her slim sisters. The third challenge has been the creation of the text version. Light, Book, DemiBold and Bold, including italics and Small Caps close the Rothwood cycle for editorial use.

Zin Serif is a contemporary typeface designed for various situations of typographic usage. Characteristic feature is a large x-height and balance between neutral construction of letters (strictly vertical axis) and dynamic open forms (opened terminals). Another typical feature is a visually narrower connection between stems and strokes. The complete font family consist of three width proportions (Normal, Condensed and Extended). Peckham, designed by Daniel Hernández, is a contemporary and versatile slab serif of 8 weights (and matching italics)—ranging from an elegant Thin to a heavy Black—with strong serifs that give it a playful look while preserving the overall geometric structure of the font. Peckham comes with the standard Latinotype set of 395 glyphs resulting in a language support for 94% of the languages using the Latin alphabet. The font also includes stylistic alternates (A, R, Y, a) which provides extra versatility. The name of the font reminds us of the city that witnessed the birth of Vincent Figgins (1766). Figgins became known as the type designer who first included slab serif fonts in a commercial catalog. Peckham pays homage to classic typefaces yet looks very contemporary. A set of rounded Art Deco initials set inside circular borders was found amongst the pages of the vintage French lettering book "Modèles de Lettres Modernes par Georges Léculier”. Now made into a digital font called Deco Spot Initials JNL, these classic letter forms are available in both the original white-on-black version and as a black-on-white alternate design.
