Mordings JNL is an odd-lot collection of images. These assorted dingbats are leftover art that never quite made it to one particular dingbat font category, but together comprise an eclectic assortment. The tale of Okiku Of The Nine Plates is an old Japanese story full of lust, deceit, murder and revenge. It tells of Okiku, a beautiful servant whose master lusts after her. After she refuses his amorous advances, he accuses her of stealing a costly plate and has her thrown down a well, where she dies. She then turns into an Onryō (a vengeful spirit). Okiku font is a thin, all caps, scratched typeface. Upper and lower case differ and can be interchanged. Okiku comes with an afterlife of diacritics.

Gia is 7 weights, true small caps and unicase options, designed after iconic letterforms of the 1960’s to 1980’s. In the early years of the American tech revolution, when Silicon Valley was more closely identified with Dallas, Texas, a curious type of letterform began to appear—strict in geometry, and curiously minimal in geometry and stroke, making it easier to be read by machine-readers, and people more used to reading machine-generated typography. As the years went on, this kind of sinewy, curved letterform began popping up in logotypes and music videos and upright video games: NASA, The Buggles, Atari, Pong, Sega, Namco, Stern, Devo, Apple.
