Based on the Morris F. Benton for ATF in 1920, it was not completed for production until 1926. The serif version we released a few years ago was so popular, that we decided to design a complementary sans serif version in three weights, along with three corresponding Swash fonts.

Guerrer is modern sans serif family of 20 fonts, 10 weights from thin to black, consists of uprights and matching italics (obliques). It has 300+ glyphs which covers major western languages and has some features, such as fractions, ligatures, alternates, mixed case (unicase) stylistic set, tabular & proportional lining, etc. The mixed case (unicase) feature would be very useful for logo branding project which will give a unique touch to the logotype. Ink traps for bolder styles were adjusted to maintain the legibility at smaller size for both print and digital needs. The typeface was inspired by the strength and the boldness of warriors (guerrer in Catalan). Designed with high x-height and short ascender & descender. The ascender has the same level width the caps height. The uppercase G was specially designed to resemble the warrior head with his armor/helmet. Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1813) was called the King of Printers and the Bodoni font owes its creation in 1767 to his masterful cutting techniques. Predecessors in a similar style were the typefaces of Pierre Simon Fournier (1712–1768) and the Didot family (1689–1836). The Bodoni font distinguishes itself through the strength of its characters and embodies the rational thinking of the Enlightenment. The new typefaces displaced the Old Face and Transitional styles and was the most popular typeface until the mid-19th century. Bodoni’s influence on typography was dominant until the end of the 19th century and, even today, inspires new creations. The Bodoni Classico of Franco Luin displays less stroke contrast than the original and is therefore also appropriate for smaller point sizes.

A modern neo-grotesque typeface. Having grown up in Sheffield and been completely immersed in the work of The Designers Republic I became very drawn to their treatment of Helvetica, especially the close tracking of the letter space. This visual investigation led me to the study of the font Hass Unica, a so called improvement to Helvetica. In order not to replicate and become a clone of Unica I redrew all the characters from scratch improving optical appearance, developing subtle corrections and reshaping individual letterforms. The result is a remixed neo-grotesque font that has strong general optical balance with great rhythm under close tracking. Details include 10 weights, an extended European character set, true italic, manually edited kerning and Euro symbol.
