Grotesca Extra Condensed™ defines the term ""extra condensed"". With some unusual design quirks, this sturdy design has roots in styles popular in 1920s Germany. First brought to market by the Fundicion Tipografica Richard Gans type foundry (1888-1975) in Spain, the designer of Grotesca is unknown and the font was formerly sold only in Spain.

The free-form Art Nouveau hand lettering for the 1905 song "Will You Love Me in December as You Do in May" was the design model for Funky Nouveau JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. Batchelder Ruff is a "battered" version of the typeface used for titling in the catalogs and advertising of the Batchelder Tile Company in Pasadena, California in the 1920s. The original source characters were smoother, but they were also handlettered, so that every character was different. This digitized version contains uniform characters, but its "rough" quality preserves the hand-drawn look. It is designed primarily as a headline font, and thus is best used in All-Caps in larger sizes.

Neumonopolar is designed a little more smoothly, with perfectly curved edges, in this version the Neumonopolar looks more relaxed in shape and even more beautiful if rearranged in short paragraphs. AllSmiles is a sunny little face in which all the letters smile at you. It can be used in notes and cards of congratulation or in celebrating good-news announcements. In the update of 2011, emoticons were added in the appropriate unicode slots (unicode 1F601 to 1F640 slots). Mellnik is a sans serif of humanist style (in a way) that was developed by Oleg Karpinsky for ParaType in 2006. The type family contains nine styles with a number of alternate characters in each ones. For use as a text font in long text passages of advertising booklets, catalogues or magazines, as well as for accident setting. Mellnik may be also applied as a corporate typeface. Five condensed styles were added in 2007 by the same designer.

In most cases, motion pictures with a Western theme have their titles and credits lettered in type styles that reflect the period of the Old West. In 1966, the titles and credits for “Texas Across the River” used casual sans serif lettering more suited to the 1960s than a Western taking place in the 1800s. Nonetheless, the lettering inspired a digital font entitled Adventure Film JNL and it is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This in-yer-face kinda face is based on a broad brush font from "The New ABC of Showcard & Ticketwriting" by C. Milne, published in Australia in the late 1930s. Brought to my attention by Ms. Kat Black, and named in honor of Ms. Kat's grannie, to whom the book originally belonged. The Postscript and Truetype versions contain a complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252); in addition, the Opentype version supports Unicode 1250 (Central European) languages as well.
