This roly-poly romp through the alphabet is based on Jürgen Riebling's irrepressible Mr. Big from the 1970s. Big, bold, bubbly and a little brash, it's a natural choice for happy headlines. Both versions contain the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

Sheet music for 1907's "Just A Little Fond Affection" had the song title hand lettered in a simple sans serif design with influences from the then-current Art Nouveau movement. This is now available as Nouveau Titling JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

The sheet music for "Good Night Angel" from the 1937 motion picture "Radio City Revels", had the movie's title hand lettered in a free form Art Deco sans serif design. This has been recreated digitally as Reveler JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

In 1935 Ludwig & Mayer released Walter Höhnisch’s Skizze. This beautiful font was completely redrawn and redesigned for today’s usage. The following letters have stylistic alternatives: E, F, P, S, and T. To get access to all ligatures, it is recommended to both activate Standard and Discretionary Ligatures.

In 1935, Morris Fuller Benton designed Phenix American for American Type Founders. For 2017, the classic Art Deco design has been reinterpreted in an all-caps display version with an ever-so-slight "hand made" feel. Industrial Arts JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The 1913 sheet music for "You’ll Be Welcome When You Get Back Home" had its title hand lettered in a simple, yet attractive Art Nouveau sans serif design which has been preserved as digital type. Basic Nouveau JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The opening title sequence for the 1958 film “The Long, Hot Summer” was hand lettered in a free-form style as if painted with loose paintbrush strokes. This served as the model and inspiration for Summertime Breeze JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Sheet music published in the 1860s for "The Soldier’s Chorus" [from the Gounod opera "Faust"] had the title and the arranger’s name hand lettered in a bold, condensed chamfer font. This was the basis for Condensed Chamfer JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Beauchef is a sans serif typeface originally created to meet the needs of Centro de Modelamiento Matemático de la Universidad de Chile (University of Chile Center for Mathematical Modeling). Randolph is a popular font family from Jukebox done in an old fashioned copperplate etching style that harkens back to the days of old leather-bound shop ledgers and hand painted window signs. Bookkeeper JNL is based on the lighter weight version of R. Hunter Middleton's 'Karnak', produced in 1936 for Ludlow. "Karnak" itself was based on the geometric slab-serif "Memphis", designed in 1929 by Dr. Rudolf Wolf and released originally by the Stempel Type Foundry of Germany. According to Wikipedia, "Karnak" "was named after the Karnak Temple Complex in Egypt, in reference to the fact that early slab serifs were often called "Egyptians" as an exoticism by nineteenth-century type founders." Sheet music at the beginning of the 20th Century reflects both the musical and artistic tastes of the times in often colorful ways. It seemed to be a favorite thing amongst songwriters of that era to come up with very wordy song titles. The cover of the sheet music for 1907’s “Every Little Bit Added to What You’ve Got Makes Just A Little Bit More” checks in at fourteen words, but the hand lettered title (done in an Art Nouveau style) made it worthy of transposition into a digital type face. Arnold Therhoernen. (Arnoldus ther Hornen, Drucker des Dictys , Arnold ter Hoernen, Arnold ther Hoernen, Arnoldus TherHornen.) Who was this guy? He was a printer active in the city of Cologne, having graduating from the university there. He learned his craft under Ulrich Zell. He printed books from 1470 to 1482 when the plague carried him off. Was he just another printer of the era? No, he brought out the first edition of the "Fasciculus temporum'' (The most popular work by a living author at that time.) And he was the first to use both a title page and page numbers. His page numbers, an idea probably suggested to him by Werner Rolevinck, were interesting in that they were centered half way down the page on the outer margin and were set in Roman Numerals.
