This carefully thought out inclination protects the uppercase from the usual distortion which Italic caps suffer. It offers a generous glyph set with many ligatures specially crafted for titling and ornaments based on anonymous metal types found in the drawers of an old printing workshop in a coast town near Barcelona.

Quiroga Serif began in 2007 with the name Quadratta Serif. This typography was designed for continuous text, legible at medium and small sizes, with great saving of space, optimized for 6, 8, 10 and 12 points. The morphology is a mix between tradition and innovation; it has a vertical axis, thick serifs, tall x-height, light modulation and a lot of internal space between letters: key to improve legibility at small sizes. Formally, my idea was to make a serif type that had a unique color, this is visible due to the light modulation. This is also complemented with the incorporation of not common, alternative signs. Some parts of the letters that are usually curb or diagonal where made horizontal (for example: a, q, p, etc.), this makes the eye of each character to be wide and unique. The serifs (wedge type) suffered diverse variations during the process. At the begining they where thicker and ended vertically, but this caused a great deal of printing errors. And so we decided to modify them by giving them an angle to avoid visible errors in medium and small sizes. The ch, and ll ligatures where rescued because they are a part of our current spanish alphabet. The historic ligatures and stylistic alternates give different options to users who want different alternatives within a text. The accentuation signs were composed in a middle line above all signs to avoid visual shock. We also gave plenty of importance to small caps numbers, mathematical signs and currency signs so that the could interact well.

The 10th Regiment of Foot is a British military unit raised more than three centuries ago—and perhaps most famous in the U.S. for seeing action on American soil during the Revolutionary War in the Battle of Lexington and Concord and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Military Scribe is modeled after the compact, utilitarian script on the mid- to late-1770s muster rolls of the Tenth of Foot. I incorporated the work of at least three separate scribes, merging their neat old penmanship into a legible disconnected cursive. Perhaps the most versatile of all our vintage handwriting fonts, Military Scribe might faithfully reproduce antique letters, labels, lists, or just about any document of the period. OpenType features include multiple stylistic sets, scores of historical, contextual, and discretionary ligatures (including nine terminal “d”s) lining and old-style figures, ink blots, cross-outs, and full support for Central and Eastern European alphabets—more than 1,000 glyphs in all.

Derived from a photograph Rian Hughes took in Hong Kong, the Roadkill family of typefaces is a literal interpretation of rough and worn road lettering. The original provided almost all of the key character shapes, with the others being designed to keep the unique hand painted feel intact. Most of the letters have alternate versions provided. This font works equally well at wider letterspacing settings. Roadkill Alternates provides curved versions of the 2 and the S, a G with higher crossbar, and less worn versions of several other characters. Mantika News™, from German designer Jürgen Weltin, was designed to expand the Mantika super family with text and display typefaces for setting newspapers and periodicals. The suite of typefaces is comprised of regular and bold designs, with italic counterparts, for setting continuous text, and light and extra bold versions for setting larger sizes in headlines, sub heads, pull quotes and decks. The typefaces intended for text copy were designed with shared character widths, so that changes can be made in typeface choice without disrupting line endings or column length. The display designs have a slightly smaller x-height and shorter ascenders creating a more elegant demeanor while ensuring compact multi-line display copy. In addition, fonts of Mantika News have a large Monotype W1G (World Glyph Set 1) character set enabling the setting of Greek, Cyrillic and over 20 Eastern and Western European Latin-based languages.
