Morning News is the sister font of Evening News which I designed some years ago for use with my local newspaper Abendzeitung. Morning News is an adaption, a little bit rounder, which gives the font a much softer touch. The general design dates back to the pre-Hitler era, the time when Germany had already lost the first World War and was taking a short deadly breath to start the second big war. Lets hope there will be a day when there will never be another war in Europe (or elsewhere!). Another new peaceful font by your pacifistic designer, Gert Wiescher.

Monotype Old Style is a nineteenth century update of Caslon Old Face with characteristics of the moderns built in. Monotype Old Style was recut by Monotype in 1901 from a Stephenson Blake & Company version. The design originated at the Miller and Richard foundry in 1860. In some respects it can be seen as transitional between old style and modern, but the spirit of the old styles predominates. By the turn of the century it had become a successful rival to the moderns. The Monotype Old Style font family is an attractive design which gives a light, airy feel to text.

The “indalo” means messenger of the Gods in the Iberian language about 2500 BC. It was discovered in the Almeria, south of Spain, Indalo was a ghost that bring luck having a rainbow in his hands. Linotype Beluga is a part of the Take Type Library, winners of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest. The font was designed by Hans-Jürgen Ellenberger to suggest the writing of the Middle Ages but without any specific models from that time.
