Let me tell you a secret: This font has got absolutely nothing to do with nougat or France. I just love nougat, and I actually ate some while finishing this font! My wife is a good at making cakes, and lucky for me is that she too adores nougat - that way I often get delicious cakes with nougat :) Well, back to the font - a handmade rounded sans-serif, comic, organic, all-purpose with a playful attitude. Verve is the fourth in an on-going series of condensed typefaces that I’ve been designing since 1989. My concept was to create an elegant condensed typeface that would be a "typeface for the millennium," in style and functionality. At the very core of all my designs is a typographic problem I wanted to solve, or a market niche that I think needs filled. Verve addresses both of those concerns, without copying or borrowing from its predecessors. There’s the challenge of creating a rich and interesting typeface with an austerity of line and elegance of form. I’m a minimalist by nature – but I wanted Verve to have a sensuous feel in certain respects – yet have that sensuality balanced by the uniformity of the uniform character widths. Gottfried Pott always stresses "theme and variation," and "point and counterpoint," and that’s what I’m doing in Verve. What one finds in musical composition is evident in Verve. Perfect for book covers, CD packaging, club flyers, retail packaging (especially bottles!), identity design and multimedia. The adventurous can try it in text, but it will give you a headache. The beauty of Verve is in thesize and weight variations which create a rich typographic texture in this font.

Bold, rounded and super cool. Those are the attributes of my latest font “Vinyle”, french for vinyl. In this epoque where all fields of Design are giving a lot of importance and attention to Typography and Lettering, I felt it was my duty to contribute with something that could really stand alone and ‘say something else’ that just words to be read. I've found that lately in the world, regarding a finished piece of design, the role of Typography (and of letters in general) went from being secondary, (like a minor player or a supporting actor) to the most important one. People are starting to understand the beauty of a well-done letter: they want their storefronts with unique scripts, they want to drink coffee surrounded by lettered blackboards, they want to buy books with astonishing covers with swashes ‘por doquier’. I'm more than happy to be alive in a present where even the most unimaginable friends of mine, (who couldn't spot differences between comic sans and helvetica before) are now conscious of the importance of a letter, or let’s say: Of the ‘voice’ of Typography. With Vinyle I tried to make a font with power. Following the nowadays trend of, let me say, “the vintage sans renaissance”. This time I put my brushes and nibs aside and experimented with something new. It wasn't easy, if you will pardon, for me to see swashes all over the place withouth the classic calligraphic ‘thick and thins’, but with after some weeks of work I started to love them. Like I already showed you in other creations (1) let me finish with the phrase: GEOMETRY IS SEXY! TIPS Vinyle has a lot of attitude, it shouts “here I am!” it really can ‘design an entire piece’ for you with just a word or two: It was designed with a 10 degree slant on purpose so the user may rotate it (like on the posters) that amount of degrees in order to see better results. Barking Frenzy may look as if it was cut out of paper or cardboard, but it's not! It was drawn with a rugged pen, leaving rough edges here and there. It's great for children's books and toys or maybe handcraft or other handcrafted activities. I've added 5 different versions of each lowercase letter and these appear randomly as you type. That way your text looks really natural and organic, because the letters rarely repeat themselves. Also the font has multilingual support!

A burger and a shake - the classic companions! Mix those two and you get the Burger Shake - it may not sound very delicious, but the thought of mixing two nice things is great...or something! :) Anyway, the Burger Shake font is about having fun in a legible way. The letters are slightly uneven and rough here and there, and has this nice handmade organic feeling. Mystery Shot is not your every day all-caps comic font. It is handdrawn with a permanent marker, which explains the sometimes rough edges. I've made 2 versions that mixes for great results. Monospaced become very popular among graphic designers. Nevertheless, I’ve noticed that in most cases that designers use monospaced typefaces is not because of their particular features caused by the strict rules of design — all characters share the same advanced width — rather because of it’s ‘electronic derived’ appearance. So, I decided to create a typeface that keeps the characteristics that, in my opinion attract designers to this particular sort of types, but deliberately break the main rule: characters do not share the same width — but they they look like they do! Characters are better balanced compared to truly monospaced types, giving more even typographic color while used in text setting. One weight might enough to please electronic type lovers. Designed in 2000.

This handwritten font is the result of trying to write in a different way to what I'm used to: sometimes taking a left turn when going straight was the more obvious way. Or the other way around. The result was quite readable and it turned out that I could make surprisingly matching monographs with it.

Don’t ask me why I called this font Blabbermouth, as I really don’t know. I guess it reminded me of a person who talks too much, as Blabbermouth is kind of in your face, uneven and slightly crazy.
