Capsule is a reverse-stress, high-contrast, rounded sans-serif font with two distinct personalities. An all-caps face, there are however variations of some letters in the lowercase slots. The lowercase variants are more playful, with more bulbous elements that riff on phototype faces like Amelia and Data 70, but all can work together and be mixed and matched to your heart's content. Capsule boasts a bunch of esoteric discretionary ligatures to play around with, and stylistic alternates for 4, 7 and £. The language support is extensive enough to set essays in most Latin-based languages, even though that's the last thing you should be doing with this font! Capsule should be set large. Crypton is a modern geometric design by Alex Kaczun. It’s an alternate style variation based on his popular Contax Pro family of fonts. It’s a futuristic sans-serif exploration of shape and form. This display font is not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications. The entire font has an original look which is strong and dynamic—it can be widely used in publications and advertising. Crypton is a futuristic, techno-looking and expressive typeface with the appearance of machined-like parts—round geometric shapes and sharp edges. This attractive display comes in roman with lower case and lining figures. The large Pro font character set supports most Central European and many Eastern European languages.

This family was inspired from the French edition of Hypnerotomachie de Poliphile ("The Strife of Love in a Dream") attributed to Francesco Colonna, 1467 printed in 1546 in Paris by Jacques Kerver. He was using a Garamond set (look at our 1592 GLC Garamond), including two styles: Normal and Italic (Normal carved by Claude Garamond, Italic we don't know; it was an Italic pattern very often in use in Paris at that time). We have modified the slant angle of the Capitals used with Italics because the Normal capitals were used in both styles in the original. The present font includes all of the specific latin abbreviations and ligatures used in this edition (with a few differences between the two styles). Added are the accented characters and a few others not in use in this early period of printing. Decorated letters such as 1512 Initials, 1550 Arabesques, 1565 Venetian, or 1584 Rinceau can be used with this family without anachronism.

The Clearface types were originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1907. Their forms expressed the Zeitgeist of the turn of the 20th century; typical and distinguishing characteristics are the forms of the a" and the "k." The ATF version did not include an accompanying Italic. In 1978, ITC's Victor Caruso was licensed by ATF to develop a new serif typeface and matching italic based on the forms of Clearface. The result was ITC Clearface, a serif typeface with marked stroke contrast and italic weights. The teardrop-formed endings of the lowercase a, c and f (also found in Caslon) define the character of the face. The type's design is also distinguished by its small -- almost slab -- serifs, a large x-height, and little stroke contrast. ITC Clearface, with its historical touch, is good for both texts and headlines, but its slightly condensed nature performs at its best when it is allowed its space.

In 1905 the Parisian typefounders Peignot & Cie. issued their Série 16. This clear roman with a large x-height and an italics soon enjoyed a great popularity. Coen Hofmann’s drawings made for the Seizième follow the original Peignot Série 16 as close as possible. The regular font has the original small caps, while all members of the family are enhanced, next to the ranging ones, with old style figures. Also superior and inferior figures are available. The original series did not have a bold version. This was, however, carefully drawn for this digital rendition. The Série 16 and its versions for the composing machines were much used for the type setting of scientific publications. That is why a comprehensive set of mathematical and sundry characters are added to the Seizième fonts. Next to the accented characters for the several West and East European languages the Seizième was also enhanced with a Cyrillic, also available in regular, italic and bold versions.

A typeface originally inspired by a wall lettering in a small chapel on Crete, Greece. Despite its experimental character it works nicely in a text environment. Sinkwitz Gotisch is a new release of the font of the same name originally designed by Paul Sinkwitz in 1942. The Sinkwitz Gotisch was 1942 by Schriftguss AG Dresden font cast first cast and later supplied by the East German firm VEB Typoart. Paul Sinkwitz (1899-1981) has created them. This font displays not the characteristics of a chunky Gothic, which have influenced the image of national socialism. Paul Sinkwitz was a painter, graphic artist, wood engraver, was interested in religious topics, which he had presented in numerous graphics. But also his interpretation of his Gothic font is modern, without having the font this is ugly. In addition to the GOTISCH he created Roman Uppercase letters, which perfectly harmonize with the lowercase letters. This extra font is called BASTARD. The Vale Press was a contemporary of Willam Morris's Kelmscott Press. DecoSpring is a decorative art-deco family that was inspired by one word in an advertisement in a 1978 edition of my local newspaper. I could not find a typeface that matched it so decided to create one, which became DecoSpring-Regular. It is caps only, with an alternative set of capitals on the lower-case keys. Characters with very thick stems invite interior decoration and I opted for floral decorations. DecoSpring-Flowers can be used alone or it can be layered on top of the regular style to create colored flowers. Changing the width of the bolder stem resulted in two more style, the light and thing styles. Another set of four styles, the Simple set, was formed by eliminating the split in the stems by merging the two parts. All the DecoSpring faces are display faces to be used in small doses, and especially the bolder ones, at large point sizes.

A handwritten decorative font with brush characteristics This attractive decorative script is found in a pamphlet of script samples from around 1900 which was issued by Otto Maier publishing house in Ravensburg/Germany. The forms and flow of Maier’s Nr. 42 are obviously influenced by Art Nouveau. In the original sample, only the Latin alphabet appears. All other characters, especially the Greek and Cyrillic letters, were modeled on elements of the original. A typeface can first reveal a true "handmade" character when the letter forms do not continually repeat themselves – a completely normal occurrence with handwriting. Thanks to OpenType, some key letters of Maier’s Nr. 42 appear in various alternative forms depending on the combination of letters. For example, the difference is obvious between an e followed by i and an e followed by l. Using this principle, a number of letter combinations are presented with alternative character forms so that overall a very lively impression is created.

This 12-font family employs several unique features including a 2-part Chisel set which allows for the look of stone incised lettering. Hedonic has just a hint of a slab serif and even that is used so sparingly that it almost feels like a sans serif font. Its design does appear to be painfully simple but there are many interesting features including a selection of weights, small caps with old style numerals and display weights that make it very useful. And legible. Old style numerals are included with the small caps and italics. Also for display purposes are two "Chisel" fonts. Used together, set one on top of the other, they create a stylish 3D effect—ideal for logos and headlines or anything that needs a strong graphic punch. Hedonic may not be as eccentric as many fonts out there, but overall it is clean and legible with a few extra flourishes to stand out from the crowd!
