Soleil, designed by Wolfgang Homola, is a geometric sans serif typeface. Unlike most existing geometric sans serif typefaces, it has asymmetrical counters, making it look fresher, more dynamic and more contemporary. Simple geometric forms – such as the circle or the square – played a certain role in the design of the letterforms, but in order to introduce more fluidity into the rather stiff and rigid concept of geometric sans serif typefaces, a lot of optical corrections were necessary. Soleil is based on the modernist ideas of simplicity, clarity and reduction to essential forms. Yet its letter shapes are not the result of geometric construction, but of a design process that brings together simplicity and fluidity, clarity and rhythm. Soleil has a rather large x-height, making it legible also in small sizes or from a bigger distance. The typeface family consists of six weights. Sodra is a wide-accented antiqua with sharp serifs and hints of futuristic forms. This typeface emerged from a passage in the Manifesto del Futurismo by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. One short word was the inspiration and the guidance for the creation of this font. An attempt to create something unique and distinctive, an attempt to add a bit of futurism to something historical. The special aesthetics and expressiveness the type conveys will make you look closely at each letter and draw attention to your design. The font has been in development for a long time and painstaking work has been done on it. Large language support, about 470 characters and almost 4,000 kerning pairs. Trigomy is a proportional pixel font designed on a 5 pixel grid. It is intended for either very small text or as huge display font for posters and the like. To get a crisp look this font should be used at 10 pt or multiples of 10 pt. (A tip for Adobe Creative Suite applications is to change the standard anti-aliasing method from “sharp” to “crisp” and to align the text to whole pixels. Also avoid centered text.) To get started with type design I thought it was best to start with a pixel font because you don't have to focus much on the design itself, but rather have to focus on how kerning and spacing works and the various features you can implement with OpenType. And of course I wanted to have a pixel font that had all that I was missing from other pixel fonts. We were learning trigonometry at the time I started designing Trigomy, and most of the time I misspoke it “trigometry”. So, when I had to come up with a name for my first font I thought: "Why not go with Trigomy?"

Mr Foodie is a set of 825 icons divided into 7 groups – 109 fruit icons, 157 kitchen icons, 120 animal products icons, 100 veggie icons, 107 desserts icons, 127 beverages icons, and 105 other food related icons. You can find a full, multi-color list of every icon with its name and corresponding character on a dedicated website or in a pdf manual. It’s a multilayer font so every group consists of 4 fonts – Regular, Back, Front, and 3rd Color. The Regular style is for single color use only and the Back, Front, and 3rd Color styles are necessary if you want to achieve a multicolor effect. Position three identical text boxes exactly on top of each other, apply layer font styles, and choose whatever colors you like. You’ll quickly discover that some icons don’t have 3rd Color style. This is not a mistake – a lot of things look good with just two colors. Klatter is a font that is "in your face". It can't be ignored, and draws attention to itself no matter how noisy the environment. Salome is a revival, normalization and elaborate expansion of a 1972 film face called Cantini. The original film type, released by a tiny independent outfit called Letter Graphics, looked like it was hand drawn with little consideration for consistency in essential lettering flow measurements, like angles, stroke widths, and vertical metrics. All these issues have been resolved in this digital version, and the original character set, including the whole lot of alternates, was entirely redrawn and expanded to include even more alternates and many useful ligatures, as well as extended support for Latin-based languages. Combining elements of early 20th century art nouveau with common 1960s and 1970s signage and poster lettering flair, Salome uses curls and curves to wave its fantastic shapes in a most hypnotic dance. Salome simply cannot be unseen. Just like its namesake, the female seduction icon, it does not hesitate to put all of its natural beauty and energy on display in order to get what it wants. Shelflife is a display typeface with some extras under the lid. It features all the Standard Open-Type features you'd expect, like Class Kerning and Ligatures, plus some other useful additions and of course accented characters for most European languages and others. In essence it's an easy-to-read headline font with clean lines and a bit of character. There's an outline version that can be layered with the standard version to give the shadow effect seen in the accompanying graphics, simplicity itself to do. The Vondelpark is the famous Amsterdam city park, 47 hectares stretching out from Leidseplein to the Amstelveenseweg. It was founded in 1864 when a group of well-to-do Amsterdam citizens got together and bought land at the (then) edge of the city centre in order to create a park ‘for riding and strolling’. Designed by architect J.D. Zocher, it opened officially in 1865. The park received its name two years later when a statue of Dutch writer Joost van den Vondel was placed in the park. In the 1960s and 1970s the Vondelpark became a symbol and epicenter of the hippie flower power era. The park was declared a state monument in 1996. Donald DBXL was intrigued by the handmade iron nameplate lettering on the park’s entrance gates, and decided to design VLNL Vondelpark in its glory. The somewhat clumsy iron letters were not revived as is but optimized to turn it into a useful typeface. The all-caps serif with a deliberate constructed feel, contains a Positional Open Type feature that places half circles on the vertical stems, at the beginning and end of a word, to enliven the rhythm.

A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane—simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. Tessellation patterns are eye-catching and visually appealing, which is the reason that they have long been popular in a variety of decorative situations. These Tessie fonts have two family members, a solid style that must have different colors when used and an outline style. They can be used separately or they can be used in layers with the outline style on top of the solid style. For rows to align properly, leading must be the same as point size. Milk Drops is a semi-casual-feeling cross between a didone and slab serif display font. Elegant, flourishy, whimsical and bold, as much as one font can be any or all of those things! It has highly contrasting weights, but not so much to take itself too seriously or risk legibility. Playfully, it entertains the teardrop motif wherever it can – in expected areas like the descender of a "y" and the ascender of an "f", but also in some whimsical flourishes. Many of the uses of the teardrop motif are implemented on the terminals and ears where many old prints may have suffered from bleed of ink – answering a "what if" question like "what if those accidental bleeds were designed on purpose?" or "what if a font were designed as though it was already seen through blurry eyes?" Milk Drops also features stencil-like open counters and lots of ligatures (32). Note also, it has some super-nerdy additions like symbols for Bitcoin, Pilcrow, Interrobang and Irony Mark. Language Support Milk Drops is highly versatile – with an impressive count of 470 glyphs, it can accommodate up to 78 latin-based languages.

Fer is a sans-serif font for body text, not lacking in its own distinctive voice. The aftertaste of reading the text set in Fer is like reading the letters on old rusty plates somewhere in Southern Europe, hence the name (Fer means iron in French). Being a modern system that includes a variable font with weight and optical size axes, Fer combines the features of geometriс sans serifs and old sans serifs with closed apertures. The typeface contains three sets of styles: for captions, text and headings, — with the weight ranging from regular to black. Fer was created with the idea to unite nations. The Latin character set supports all European languages, most African languages and Vietnamese. Cyrillic has support for all living Cyrillic languages and some obsolete characters too. The font also supports the Greek language. Marujo is a highly decorative typeface inspired by painted pieces of Arthur Bispo do Rosário, a striking Brazilian artist who lived for 50 years in a psychiatric institution. Besides its spirited Regular and Light cuts, Marujo family brings nifty eye-catching variations adorned with dots and stripes. I just returned from a short holiday in Japan. I stayed in hostels and small guesthouses and noticed a peculiar thing they all had in common: they love little notes, telling you where to go, what to do, how to use the microwave oven and when to check out. These notes were sometimes printed, but more often they were handwritten. I found that the Japanese way of writing roman characters is a little, well, unusual. The letters are correct, but they have that typical ‘Japanese look’ - most notably the a and A the b, d and g, the p and P and the t and T. I can’t really tell you what makes them look different, maybe it’s the proportions, but I do know that a Nippon Note is highly recognisable. So, here is Nippon Note, a highly recognisable, handmade font. You don’t really have to be in Japan to use it, but it will give your designs that extra cachet. And don’t forget Nippon Note Kawaii - the cute doodle font which is free if you download the Nippon Note family! Comes with extensive language support, but unfortunately not Japanese…

Now Uniform comes in Italics! Uniform is a multi-width geometric type family designed around the circle. The O of the Regular width is based on a circle, the O of the Condensed width is based on 1.5 circles stacked (with straight sides) and the O of the Extra Condensed width is based on two circles stacked with straight sides as well, and all other characters are derived from this initial concept. EraMax 123 is a multi-layered display geometric sans serif, meant to be set BIG, for large, colourful statements. It's the perfect face for packaging, posters & branding, where a strong, colourful voice is needed... Did I mention posters? The "Max" in EraMax comes from the ultra bold weight, but also, and mainly as a tip of the hat to Peter Max, the designer and artist, known for creating so many images which have come to be emblematic of the sixties and seventies. The bold gradient effects in some of his posters were the inspiration behind the dotted and striped layers. This font's vintage flavour truly stand out in a retro setting, but also has a modern flavour that lends it the flexibility to work well in a more contemporary context. This is the second of what is to be an extended family of typefaces based on the original hand painted signage found in the T. H. & B Railway station in Hamilton Ontario, a classic Art Moderne building, designed by the New York architectural firm of Fellheimer and Wagner for the Toronto Hamilton and Buffalo Railway line and completed in 1933.
