The Techno sound of the 1990s, a personal computer, a font creation software and some inspiration had been the sources to the F2F (Face2Face) font series. Alessio Leonardi and his friends had the demand to create new unusual faces that should be used in the leading german techno magazine "Frontpage". Even typeset in 6 point to nearly unreadability it was a pleasure for the kids to read and decrypt the messages. About Al Retto: "Al" means "Alessio Leonardi" and Retto "straight", but if you read it as an italian world means "in the a**".

I have no fantastic story on how I came up the name to share with you. I am currently not in an asylum, nor will I be in the near future. I also finished this font way before midnight, so it is just a crazy name for a scary looking font! Midnight Asylum was made with a pencil and Chinese ink. It comes with a full set of alternates for the lower case letters, extensive language support and a cute .notdef character, which is also the alternate asterisk glyph.

An early drawing tablet was largely responsible for the LeakorLeach typefaces. They resemble hand lettering using cake icing or done with an ink pen that leaves lots of ink blobs or ink blots. The family has two widths, plain and condensed, and in addition to each having an oblique style, each also has a leftward-inclined style. There may not be many uses for a leftward-inclined typeface, but for those needing one, the LeakorLeach family offers two. The LeakorLeach typefaces are unlike any other faces from IngrimayneType.

Chunkie is a simple serif experiment going for minimal width and maximum height. I made it into my display version of OpenType Pro, but mainly it was a vehicle for me to try out some more extreme serif ideas and glyph shapes. The solutions for the lowercase a and e are unique, for example. The double g ligature is a fun solution. I like the solution for the @, but I’m not sure how it will be received. That being said, it turned into a useful dark display face with a small x-height.

Neuch is a neat typeface for greeting cards, children's books, labels and signs, handmade goodies packaging, and other cheerful designs. Drawn with a sharp-tipped ink pen, the letters kick their legs up and down, stretch out their tails, and hop along gaily, as if not obeying any rules. The cute characters look like they are one big family—they get into arguments, mix noisily and good-humoredly, push each other, yet always stick together. Germania is a Sans font based on classic roman proportions and forms based on my Imperia font. But I added that distinct, rigid, no-nonsense German touch. My daily challenge is how to get my kids out of bed, feed them breakfast, get them to dress, wash and pack their school bags and drop them off at school before the bell rings. The rest of the day, the challenge is to renovate our house, get my work done, pick up the kids from school (plus all of their friends, who want to come and play) and cook dinner. Of course, the word ‘challenge’ was misused by the internet. Not too long ago, there seemed to be and endless stream of crazy challenges that ended up hurting or even killing a few people. The typefaces Largo Mager (Light) and Largo Halbfett (Medium) were cast for the first time in 1937 by Ludwig & Mayer based on the designs by Hans Wagner. One weight Largo Licht (Outline) was added in 1956. All fonts were only configured with capitals. The digital version of Largo has pointed serifs and not the slightly rounded ones seen in the hot metal versions which gives the typeface a more elegant note. Largo is often used for fine printing jobs as business cards or formal invitations, or in the fashion and cosmetics fields. Hans Wagner was born in Munich in 1894 and died in 1977 in Altenburg where he had worked as a painter, graphic designer and book designer. In addition to the Largo typeface, he developed, among others, the Altenburger Gotisch (1928), the Welt-Antiqua (1931-1934) and the Wolfram (1930).

Motopica was born when I watched a show, namely "the pickers". At that time I realized that there were still many communities or people who really loved Western culture (Cowboy), Vintage Style in the 40s - 60s era and Classic Motorbike style (Caferacer). So I intend to combine these three concepts into a single font, and Motopica was born, which brings the spirit of the three styles, namely Western Cowboy, Vintage, Beer and motorbike. During the spring of 2006, while creating this typeface, I was reading Praying For Gil Hodges, by Tom Oliphant, who grew up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan. I grew up a Los Angeles Dodgers fan. My mother worked as secretary to the president of the old Triple A LA Angels Baseball Team. In 1952 when she was pregnant with me, she left the team. They gave her an autographed baseball and a puppy named Angel. That's the dog I grew up with. Toward the end of the book the author talks about Gil Hodges' favorite ballplayer, a slugger for the LA Angels, Jigger Statz. I thought, could it be? My mother died two years ago and I got the team baseball. Sure enough, the first name after the dedication to my mother was Jigger Statz.
