Dudu is a font which I made mainly for my own purposes. A lot of times in many projects I was looking for elegant vertical and modular typeface. There is a lot of fonts that overall look good but if You take a closer look, You can clearly see they have mistakes. That's why I made Dudu. Font naming is not all that difficult. Take Printout for example. I was busy working on this font, when my niece came over with a poem she needed to have printed. One of her classmates had the same request (they’re writing poems for our national Remembrance Day). As I was printing out these poems, I thought the name Printout would be perfect for the font I was working on. See? It’s not rocket science! Printout is a totally awesome, completely handmade font. I used an almost dried out Japanese brush pen to get the eroded effect. Maybe I should name my next font ‘Dried Out Brush Pen’? I’ll let you know.

The 1934 Dick Powell-Ruby Keeler-Joan Blondell movie musical "Dames" gave us the classic song "I Only Have Eyes for You", but the sheet music for the song had the movie title hand lettered in a multi-line Art Deco sans serif design that just begged to be turned into a type font. The song title was originally set in a decorative sans serif with an engraved line adorning each character. Vocalist JNL is a bit of a novelty Art Deco typeface based on hand lettering from some 1940s sheet music. Using the classic "thick and thin" style of the day, a number of letters and numbers have wedges cut out of their designs.

A piece of sheet music for “Broken Blossoms” circa the 1920s or early 1930s has its cover title hand lettered in a wide thick-and-thin Art Deco design. This is now available as Flower Shop JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

The free-form Art Nouveau hand lettering on the cover of the 1918 sheet music for “Smilin’ Through” (from the MGM motion picture of the same name starring Norma Shearer) is the model for Upbeat JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

The hand lettered title on the 1940 sheet music for "Pledge to the Flag" is a stencil design with wider rounded letters (such as the C, G and O). It is now available as Stencil Product JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

The 1920s Art Nouveau movement spawned a number of beautiful hand lettered pieces of sheet music from that era. Attractive and narrow, the characters found on the title page of one such piece of music was the inspiration for Easy Money JNL.
