It is a multi-line display design with a continuous connecting horizontal line that combines all characters. The idea for Granat goes back to my mysterious typeface Telepiu and later Teleneue. The straight horizontal bars in combination with the round joins create a very unique character. With Granat I wanted to push this style even further. Like in Teleneue Granat comes with a monocase version without any ascenders or descenders for all 7 weights from Regular to Ultrabold.

Based on Morris Fuller Benton's 1905 oeuvre American Extra Condensed, this titling face packs a lot of information into very little horizontal space. Its champfered corners give the font an industrial feel which remains fresh even after more than a century. Wyoming Macroni is the split-serif (or Tuscan) version of the Wyoming series. The Pegged version adds a horizontal spike through the middle of the stems, which has been a popular variation of this style. Included in the family are two shadowed versions. The ShadowedInside styles can be used in layers with the Shadowed styles to easily create two-colored letters.

Drawn shortly before Jim Rimmer's passing in 2010, Loxley was designed to be used in a fine press edition of the folklore story of Robin Hood. It was named after the cited birthplace of the story's classic hero. Loxley's shapes were inspired the same early Roman faces (such as Subiaco from the late 1400s) that influenced Frederick Goudy's Aries, Franciscan and Goudry Thirty types. It exhibits the preculiarities of Jim's left-handed calligraphy, as well as his outside-the-box thinking with exit strokes and serif variations. Loxley was remastered for the latest technologies in 2013. Now it comes with a character set of over 450 glyphs, including plenty of stylistic alternates, a full compliment of f-ligatures, a Th-ligature, basic fractions, ordinals, a long s for historic setting, comprehensive class-based kerning, and extended Latin language support. 20% of this font's revenues will be donated to the Canada Type Scholarship Fund, supporting higher typography education in Canada.

OBO Star is a fat, subtly flared display typeface with a not so subtle groove factor. The letters are based on a square and do not have ascenders or descenders. This way the typeface can be used for horizontal and vertical settings, or mixed like crosswords. There are a few exceptions for certain punctuation and special characters that are half the width for better spacing; and the word space’s width can easily be adjusted through OpenType stylistic sets. Talking about spacing, for strictly horizontal typesetting there is the option to turn on kerning for a number of characters to create a more optimal texture across words and phrases. But that’s all just technical talk. The true character of OBO Star is the funky look, amplified by the wide 1x1 format that creates space for unconventional shapes, mostly pronounced in the letters R, K and G.

Woven is a geometrical typeface based on a simple tessellation or tiling pattern. The template for the letters has both vertical and horizontal symmetry and the tiling pattern has four-fold rotational symmetry. Variations of this pattern are popular with quilters and most have a woven look to them. To fit the letters into the template results in some distorted letters but it is the pattern that matters, not the individual elements of that pattern. With proper spacing, a block of text will fit together both horizontally and vertically. Woven is intended to be used with alternating letter sets and the OpenType feature of contextual alternatives does this automatically in applications that support it. The upper-case could be used alone but it unlikely that the lower-case characters could be used by themselves. The typeface is hard to read and would make a challenging font for word-search puzzles.

In the basic version of the typeface, all glyphs have simple chopped shapes, created according to the usual geometric principles. A page from an 1880s type specimen book presented a unique "Barnum"-like design with top horizontal lines much thinner than the bottom ones. Titled "Ten Line Antique Compressed No. 7", the design transcends the years; for it's not only an antique wood type font, but is also reminiscent of the 1960s hippie counterculture movement. Balcony Seats JNL is a different take on Jeff Levine's Aisle Seats JNL. The original font was modeled from Redikut die-cut cardboard letters - used in the 1940's and 1950's for display and show card work). Although the basic letter shapes are similar, the horizontal stroke weights have been narrowed, providing a type variation with a classic Art Deco "thick and thin" look.

One in the series of fonts called Whiz-Bang Wood Type, intended to be set large and tight. Brazos is an ultrabold, ultrawide sans-serif face that takes up a lot of horizontal territory, but fits in little vertical space. Named after the famous river in Texas. Both versions of the font include the 1252 Latin and 1250 CE character sets (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Ergo is a relatively new font oriented on the form philosophy of Univers and Frutiger, namely, that a font which the eye should see as correct cannot be constructed. The eye tends to enlarge horizontals and to perceive verticals as weaker, and the stroke differences of Ergo are therefore designed to accommodate this tendency. Ergo makes a dynamic and modern impression and is extremely legible.

Madita started with the idea of an upright sans script. Unlike other script typefaces, some of the characters look fairly constructed. The endings are either vertical or horizontal. On the other hand there are the swashes of a flowing script woven into the sans stroke that create an interesting tension. Madita is surprisingly legible, even in smaller sizes. The upper case letters even work in all caps.

Designed with a very limited over-shoot to accentuate a horizontal appearance to increase legibility in long or short headings as well as body-texts. Note with the capital O and lower o roundness has been limited along with other lowercase b, d, g, q and p. Trebla Square is very suitable for titling, display, captions, logos and supports all if not most latin languages.

Koysan is made for vivid headings, but it can also be used to type small paragraphs and texts. In a text set, it gives sharp, barbed textures, but compensates with half-ovals. The font combines the linear counteraction of thin vertical and horizontal lines with sharp and rigid strokes and smooth geometric ovals. Koysan supports Basic Latin, Extended latin and Cyrillic. Wasp is a super-display typeface, which in a few words can be described as well-structured calligraphic humanist sans. It's come to life as an idea to make calligraphy-oriented sans but consciously avoid any horizontal middle strokes. Wasp has a few alternates for each letter, which (despite its unruly nature) allows for finding a good-looking solution in almost any typographic situation.

Slatterine is a retro-futuristic family, inspired by the second streamline era of the 1950s It's ideal for any design work that needs to suggest bygone visions of the future, or to have a retro-space-age effect. A group of unique metal plates with stencil initials cut into them was spotted while browsing through online auctions for source material. What made these items even more interesting was how some of the stencil letters had been sectionally divided - not vertically or horizontally as in most stencils, but lines cut at angles. ITC Ludwig has an edge. It's nervous, tense - maybe even a little scary. Drawn by Italian designer Giuseppe Errico, ITC Ludwig refuses to be confined to a traditional baseline. Its twisted lowercase g" and an "e" that could double as an upside-down "a" both add to the design's spooky personality. As a young man, Errico studied to be a fine artist. He became a graphic designer only after a “long reflection period,” he says. His early training is evident in many of ITC Ludwig's suggestive qualities. There is far more to this face than cranking up the “distort” knob in Fontographer. Reflection and personal expression are at its core."
