Hodgepodge is a confused mixture of letters that somehow work together. While I know this has been done before I create fonts that I need. And I occasionally have found a need for this. And it was not there, so now it is. There is a mixture of light and dark, bold and regular, caps and lower case but not where you would expect them to be. Since this is a headline font you can set the headline and then easily go back and change a letter here or there to get the best-looking combination. Hodgepodge was in the 2011 Typodarium Page-A-Day Calendar on 7-17-2011.

France 1727, the book Le chemin Royal de la Croix is published. Centuries later the historical publication comes into the hands of Josep Patau, who uses its printed pages as a reference for a new digital typeface. Previously created for printing, those shapes adapt now to the screen and show the sophistication and authenticity of true Garalde types. Frenchute is a multipurpose typeface with 3 optical sizes. All the shapes were modified to cover different typographic needs. The diagonal axis and the moderate stroke contrast are taken further in the italics letterforms, where the design is far more expressive. The character set includes decorative forms and italic capitals with swashes, so the text looks prettier.

You've searched for "Egyptian" but, thanks to a quirk of type jargon history, much of what you found is not what you had in mind for the voice of Thoth in your comic book, or the hints in your Mummy's Tomb game. And you don't want to fall back on You-Know-What. Fear not; now there's Walklike! Gelato Fresco represents a coming-of-age of a script font that started life in 2011 as the popular Gelato Script. The 1938 sheet music for "(The Dwarves Marching Song) Heigh-Ho" from Walt Disney's "Snow White" had the part of the title in parenthesis hand lettered with a round nib ink pen. This lettering became the inspiration for Pen Work JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Newsreel Caps JNL is a novelty caps-only outline letter with cast shadow set inside film frames. Although the design idea itself is not new, this version is based on lettering from a vintage piece of sheet music for a song featured in the movie "Fox Movietone Follies". The font is a wink and nod to Fox's long-running newsreel series called "Fox Movietone News". The upper case keys have black letters on a white frame, while the lower case keys have white letters on a black frame. A blank white frame is on the period key; a blank black frame is on the comma key. Use this font for individual initials, set the characters loose for effect or set them tight (as provided) for a continuous film strip.

The DEWANY (ALMONA DEWANY ) font is a font of original Arabic fonts and is specialized in writing in the offices of the Sultan and Arab’s Kings. Scandals JNL is free-form hand lettering with an Art Nouveau influence showing up on a 1928 piece of sheet music for the song "American Tune", and is based on the cover text noting the song was from the popular (9th Edition) of George White's Scandals; a Broadway musical-variety show. Aw, aren't they sweet? This lettering is based on a 1950s note a husband wrote to his wife shortly after they were married. His beautifully controlled and strong handwriting knows no lowercase characters; he gets his point across in uppercase only. In today's world of email and internet writings, we know that uppercase means shouting and is considered quite rude, but he didn't know that when he wrote this letter to his lovely wife! Love Ya Honey is very legible and looks beautiful when used for headlines, titling or even long expanses of body copy. Perfect for scrapbooking too!

I, uh, don't know quite what to say. I'd toiled so long over Pumpkinseed back in '96 that I guess I needed a good, wild ride to shake out the head cramps, or something. Whatever grabbed me, it forced me to sit down and design a typeface real fast directly in Fontographer (had never done that before). Took less than two hours to finish the regular character set. No way to explain it, but the exercise actually paid off -- I think. And now that there was Speed Bump, there simply had to be a companion dingbat set. (Beats the heck out of me.)
