A 1920s magazine featuring behind-the-scenes stories about the motion picture industry had its name [“Shadowland”] lettered in an Art Nouveau sans serif style. This has been recreated digitally as Movie Nouveau JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Ginseng JNL evokes the mysticism and grandeur of the Far East. The font was originally conceived as either electricity in motion or glass shards, but the design simply built itself into a typeface that pays homage to the hand lettering of the Orient.

George Bruce's New York foundry had a remarkable number of decorative types, most of which were lost or destroyed when the firm was taken over by the American Type Founders Co. and closed down in 1906. Bruce catalogs are prized among collectors.

The Colville fonts began their existence in 2015 as a project-specific typeface, made to be used on a custom-made headstone commemorating Canadian artist Alex Colville (1920-2013) and his wife Rhoda Wright. For that purpose, some initial shapes were modelled after letters Colville himself had used on a Governor General gold medal he designed in the mid-1970s. From there started a year-long project that culminated in a set of four comprehensive fonts ranging in weight from Light to Bold, each containing over 750 glyphs to cover Pan European language support, stylistic alternates, five sets of figures, automatic fractions, and some ornaments rooted in Alex Colville’s art. It was expected that Joluvian’s third type font would be inspired by the city where he currently resides: Madrid, Spain. His previous creations had originated in Venezuela (Zulia) and The Philippines (Salamat), both, places where he had once lived. Joluvian believes “now is the time to pay tribute and show gratitude towards a city that has bestowed me with so many fortunes.” He considers that Madrid’s people, streets, scents, flavor and sounds are gift enough to awaken the creative urgency in any artist. This time around, it is being expressed through the crafts of the Typographic industry. Since his arrival in Spain, Joluvian has been attached to the city’s central area, specifically to the renowned Atocha Street and its railroad station. It was precisely on that street that Joluvian and Mauco Sosa, his friend and partner, decided to establish the Patera Studio: a charming creative space that birthed the concept for this new font which they proudly named Atocha Script. The artists where still in the final phases of their previous script, Salamat, when the idea for Atocha came about. This dynamic is actually very typical of the artistic process, in which every finished product spawns the need to create its next level offspring. “Working on Atocha and Atocha Caps has been a very pleasant journey. The talented Ronna Penner has created many beautiful script fonts, and Black Jack’s quality was very good so only a few spacing issues had to be addressed. I've added some kerning pairs, and then added all the glyphs needed for the CheapProFonts language coverage. Texte d'origine : Abdallah NASRI a eu recours en étant ancien typographe/lino et calligraphe à la nature de l'idée d'une collection "INTERCHANGEABLE" pour les types qui en réalité offre un collier de police parallèle à la fonte complexe du variable. Notre mode est esquissé par un calcul simple défini par des ronds géométrique superposés où on a utilisé seulement son ¼ pour garnir le besoin des angles de chacune de nos lettres. Toujours dans l’idée à avoir dans le même espacement alloué, la même lettre imbriquée autant de fois de graisse exemple du Hairline à Ultrabold. C’est de cette manière que j’ai pu obtenir un grand nombre de styles, avec un crénage très intéressant ce qui m’a incité à étendre la police à d’autres langues avec +1000 caractères et +600 glyphes. J’ai toujours été prisé par le tout en « 1 ». Je vous assure que j’ai cherché à obtenir le maximum de Visibilité pour une utilisation S/Titrage TV, Pages WEB et Maquette typo ; une fois le difficile fait, j’ai été récompensé par une police qui possède d’innombrable ouverture typographique pour le monde du Graphisme avec comme atout en main 10 styles de graisses, et encore je suis content pour avoir personnalisé le charme de chaque lettre par des détails nouveaux ; je ne regrette pas le temps passé dessus à réfléchir pour qu’il soit utile et à la fois agréable comme outil de travail, enfin profitable tous secteurs confondus et en plus multilingue, sans oublié que c’est une famille d’inter change c’est-à-dire : Tous les types occupent la même hauteur du corps et c'est leurs graisses qui diffère dans un même espace largeur de chacune des lettres, donc aucune interférence dans l’espacement. Voilà, une alternative supplémentaire, une participation d’un septuagénaire au service de l’amour de la typographie numérique moderne. • TEST : A 50% d'écran dans un corps de 12 pixels, l'Alphabet A10 STAR soumise a un test, présente une nette Lisibilité / Visibilité. • P.S : A10 STAR intégre la Diacritique dans toutes ses formes.

A vintage printer's cut for the masthead of the "Fed-O-Gram" (a monthly publication of the Farm Bureau Federation, Inc.) had its title set in letters that emulated a moving message board. This design formed the basis for what is Moving Message JNL.

This roly-poly, rollicking display font is based on a design from the 1946 book Blue print text book of sign and show card lettering by Charles Louis Henry Wagner, who seems to have had an aversion to combination words (like blueprint, textbook and showcard).

Vintage (circa 1960s) packaging for Parker Cartridge Pen Erasers had the product description printed in bold stencil lettering featuring a squared look with rounded corners. This design has been recreated digitally as Marketing Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Paris was designed by Crous-Vidal in 1953 and is part of the Grafía Latina collection. Paris Bold originally had two alternative capital letters O, one with pronounced 45° stress; they are both incorporated in the ND version. París is a Trademark of BauerTypes SL

A unique and stylized type design with Art Deco influence was found within the French publication “Modèles de lettres modernes par Georges Léculier” (“Models of Modern Letters by Léculier”). This lettering is now digitally available as Deco Wide JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Vintage packaging [circa 1940s] for a sewing machine attachment used for making lattice-type stitching had its information hand lettered in a casual Art Deco sans serif design. This became the basis of Home Economics JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This typeface is named after Markus Low, the designer of the 1965 award-winning font Basilea. The design pays close attention to the original work combining romanesque styling with clean lines and functionality. Details include a complete character set, manually edited kerning and Euro symbol.
