The 1914 sign lettering instruction book “Art Alphabets and Lettering” by J. M. Bergling showcased many hand lettered alphabets as an inspiration to both up-and-coming and established sign painters. Backwash AOE is a typeface I drew up back in 2000 inspired by various graffiti artists.
