ITC Fenice font (pronounced fe-nee-chay) is the work of designer Aldo Novarese and was influenced by the traditional designs of Didot, Bodoni, and Ibarra. It displays the fine serifs of a Bodoni but blends such characteristics with a contemporary structural style. ITC Fenice font is perfect for applications requiring the economical use of space.

Hey guys! So happy to introduce you our new font “Chocolate Peaches”! It is great for projects that have a playful or cute theme, whether for labels, signage, packages, stickers, etc. Along with being legible due to its bold letters, this typeface can make a lovely addition to boho designs that incorporate natural elements, patterns, texture and many colors.

We saw a few letters of this in a catalog, and liked it so well we drew it up and made it as a film font for photolettering. Due to a surplus of interesting types in our shop this one never made it into our catalog, so we can¹t tell you anything about its popularity.

MVB Bossa Nova is based on unattributed hand-lettering found in an old book, circa 1946. Yet unlike many scripts based on a vintage source, it feels fresh and dynamic. This is due to the skilled hands of Holly Goldsmith, who gave the forms a contemporary vigor despite their age. Alternate glyphs with extended ascenders offer extra flair.

A sign in a London storefront, ca. 1930, pitching—surprise!—Smart Frocks provided the visual cues for designing this typeface. Singularly stylish, hip and haughty and decidedly Deco, this is the smart font to use! This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Two attractive cast metal door signs reading "Men" and "Ladies" from back in the Art Deco era inspired the idea for Nameplate JNL. The left parenthesis key starts the border decoration, and the right parenthesis key closes it off. Nameplate JNL has just a basic A-Z and numeral set; the letters "floating" within the parallel lines of the border to form complete nameplates, apartment numbers or any similarly encased words. A period, comma, apostrophe and dash are on their respective keys. A small blank space is on the left bracket key, a medium space is on the right bracket key and a large space is on the left brace key. There is a small, complete frame on the right brace key. For names such as "MacDonald" or "McIntyre", the small "ac" is on the colon key and the small "c" is on the semicolon key. No kerning has been applied in order to give the type more of an antique, "mechanically assembled" look.

Spillsbury was inspired by some examples of 1920s signwriting (principally seen on the side of some vintage vans-good thing they were in a photograph and not on the move!). Spillsbury draws inspiration from these sources to provide a unique combination of legibility and flair, which echoes the charm of advertising and publicity material from the halcyon days of the 1920s. A basic range of four display faces os offered - Regular, Plain (not all that plain really!), Shaded and Shadowed. In a new departure for Greater Albion, three pairs of 'Duo' faces are also offered. Jill Bell's typefaces are energetic, highly decorative, and refreshingly unpredictable. Some are friendly and childlike, while others are rough and nervous. Her latest creation is ITC Swank, a connected script whose shabby-chic" sophistication communicates a worn elegance. Bell begins the design process "with black stuff on white paper," she explains, preferring to draw letters before she digitizes them. Often the inspiration for her typefaces comes from a piece of hand-lettering. "Bruno began as a reminder to buy cat food," she says, "and ITC Swank started out as a small bit of lettering for Wurlitzer Pianos." Bell finds that working with blocks of lettering is a good start for script typefaces. "If I'm drawing a script typeface, I have to write out sentences in the letters first," she explains. "Drawing each letter separately doesn't establish the flow and spontaneity that scripts deserve." Bell's newest design is ITC Swank. It's a somewhat tattered formal script with definite links to early copperplate scripts. Though probably not for wedding invitations, Swank's elegant underpinnings are evident, with its slightly narrow proportions and a baseline that can best be called "bouncy." Graphic designers will appreciate the abundance of swash letters, making it easy to create distinctive headlines and short blocks of copy.
