Warren Chappell named his font after the Roman emperor Trajanus, who ruled in the first century AD. The Roman capitals on Trajanus’ memorial combined with the lower case style from the time of Charlemagne formed the models for the font characters. Trajanus will give a text a classic, almost calligraphic, feel.

Playing with old rub-on letters led to this alphabet. On the Letraset sheets (the older ones still remember...) there were always letters left over that were never or rarely used. I sometimes let interns play with it. To explain, I first rubbed an example myself. Two y's from a Helvetica made a pretty shape. Looking closely, you see a contoured, italic N. I developed the HGB Ypsilon font from this N. A purely decorative typeface – it could be interesting for some logo.

Elido (Odile in reverse) is the sans counterpart to the Odile type. Together they form a sans/serif superfamily with a wide range of variations for editorial use. Elido follows Odile’s proportions and matches the weight and typographic color of its serif twin. Elido is a sans with classical proportions. A slight geometric hint and open counters convey an airy feel. Elido’s family structure and relations within echo the conceptual approach of Odile. The arched stroke low off the stem reveals a script characteristic most pronounced in the Elido Upright Italic. Broxa was designed with a flat brush and inspired by Roman Sans Serif Alphabet

This script font was inspired by the type called “Bastarde Flamande”, a much appreciated one in the Duke of Burgundy’s court at the end of 1400s for handwritten books. A book titled Histoire Romaine (Roman history), from Roman author Tite Live, translated in French by Pierre Bersuire, circa 1475, was our main source for drawing the lower case characters and many of the upper case. Each character was written by hand with a quill pen on rough paper so as to look like the originals as much as possible. This font includes “long s”, naturally, as typically medieval , also a few ligatures, final and initial characters but there aren't any abbreviations because the text was written in French rather than Latin. Instructions for use are enclosed in the file and identify how to keyboard these special characters. This font can be used for web-site titles, posters, fliers, ancient looking texts, greeting cards, indeed for many types of presentations as it is a very decorative, elegant and luxurious font. Large type size shows this font at its best.

Witchcraft is a classic Roman font in three weights and corresponding italics. The ‘v’,’w’,and ‘y’, use the old style join at the top reminiscent of Georg Belwe’s Roman design “Belwe”. Isis is the work of type designer Michael Gills, an all capital, classical looking display roman typeface with an open engraved effect. Regina is a calligraphic-influenced hybrid light-face Tuscan-serif roman with a companion swash italic.

The Neology fonts also include both plain constituents, Neology Deco (1920s-style minimalist geometric) and Neology Grotesque (similar to Helvetica etc., but with a small x-height). All fonts have both three-quarter and full cap-height lining figures. The plain fonts have stylistic alternates (“a” for Deco and “g” and “l” for Grotesque).

LTC Spire with alternate caps was designed by Lanston’s type director Sol Hess in 1937. Spire Roman was designed without lowercase. But it includes alternate rounded caps which transform this extra condensed “fat face” into more of an art deco titling face. Spire Roman has been used within department store logos, luxury hotel signage, perfumes, etc, etc.

Carinthia is derived from the style of Roman calligraphy known as Rustica, but with some features of Roman uncial added to form a complete upper and lower case character set, including variant upper case characters with decorative spurs. Mocha Mattari is a distressed font designed based on Bebas Neue released as a free font in 2010. The Original Bebas Neue has an inordinate level of popularity and it has often been used as a web font in recent years. This Mocha Mattari was made by damaging the original and tweaked by hand work. Basically, Mocha Mattari does not have lowercases but alternative Uppercases. Exceptionally “g, m, oz, fl, lb” for “gram, milli, ounce, fluid, pound” can be available by opentype dlig or salt features.
