Bowdon is a warm, Bodoni-inspired English Modern, influenced by the 1930s lettering of designer Barnett Freedman. Slightly rounded corners give characters a printed-look softness, and hairlines are thickened a little to increase legibility at smaller sizes, reducing the harshness and dazzle that can afflict Didone typefaces. Bowdon is supplied in three widths – Regular, Wide and Narrow – and each width is accompanied by a utilitarian oblique rather than a fancy italic. Each font includes a full Latin Extended-A character set and additional oldstyle numerals.

I’m not trying to be sarcastic or ironic. But after looking at fridge magnets, postcards, posters and stickers with clever words about love and happiness, I suddenly found them all cheesy. You may have guessed it by now: I’m not into clever words like those…but I do respect if they brighten someones’s life. This font, however, was made to brighten people’s life by being great as a soft, handmade and organic headline font! Mentone is a new general purpose typeface, an attempt at extending the line of the great sans-serifs of the previous century, Frutiger - Stone Sans - Myriad. The font has round corners and subtle chamfers, which are all but invisible at text sizes, but add an upbeat, irreverent expression at display sizes. The typeface is named after the beautiful bayside suburb of Melbourne, Australia, where the designer lives. This new version (2.01) was spaced and kerned by Igino Marini of iKern. The semibold cuts are now free!

Van Dijk was designed by Peter O'Donnell in 1986 and is a zigzag typeface with a printed handwritten character. Angular forms and an emphasized slant to the right make it seem energetic and forward-reaching. The s forms with their rounded and softer forms contrast all the better with the rest of the alphabet. The strong figures of Van Dijk are reminiscent of advertisements of the 1940s. Van Dijk is best used for headlines or short texts in point sizes of 12 or larger.

Lithium is a set of symbols coming from different communicative context but designed to be used together. It's like turning on 5 radios trying to understand the mixture of sounds. Lithium was created, above all, to present this kind of sensation using images. Obviously, the result is chaos in lowercase text. Lithium represents the overload of images we are subjected to. With advertising no longer working like in past years, we end up seeing nothing but noise. FF Mode 01 is created with similar concept.

The Troyer AR ornaments are based on the first series of ornaments designed for American Type Founders by Johannes Troyer (1902-69). They were cast in 36 and 48 point in 1953 by ATF who said that they ‘mark a distinct and refreshing departure from the motif of earlier ornaments, and add a crisp touch to your finer printing’. Kenneth Day, in The Typography of Press Advertisement (1956), found them 'clean-cut and bright and clearly showing their calligraphic origins . . . useful for single decorative touches'.
