The idea of Transport originates from text found on the large wooden boxes used for transport. Such text is still stencilled on them in the same way as the companies have done for decades, at least. That explains the typeface's name, too. If you find some similarities with Devin, you are right. Transport is nothing other than a special variant of Devin. But since the two are aimed for totally different uses, I decided to use two different names for them. Transport is a mecane and its use is primarily as a headline typeface. But in small quantities it can be used even for body setting, if special effects are desired. Transport was released in 1994.

One of the best desserts I have eaten in my life was a treacle tart. I do know that it was in England and I do know that it was delicious. I really don’t know why I was thinking of that, but that pleasant memory did give me a name for this font. I am still learning my new font software, which is a bit of a slow process. The software I used for this font allows me to add several languages, which, hitherto, I couldn’t access. So, in short, this is my most multilingual font ever: it even includes Vietnamese and a bit of Hiragana and Katakana for you to get creative with!

The design of the Jeunesse font family derives from a study of primers which the designer undertook earlier in his career. Vulpa is a charming serif family in regular, italic and bold, informed by the proportions of a personal favorite, Plantin. The quirky foxtail terminals (inspired in part by my script font, Gelato Script) can be seen across all three styles. These little details make the typeface very expressive at display sizes, but practically disappear at text sizes, making for a very versatile face. Across the three styles there are a number of useful OpenType features which make Vulpa capable of demanding typographic work, even though there are only three styles. Regular, italic and bold are all you really need anyway! The regular and bold weights both include small caps, and the italic features swash capitals for most letters. The italic also features quaint discretionary ligatures, and all styles include standard ligatures, automatic fractions, proportional and tabular, lining and oldstyle figures. If this isn't enough, the Vulpa family also includes Ornaments and Drop-Cap fonts. There is an ornament for A to B, a to b and 0 to 9. These have been carefully designed to match the feel of the text fonts, and many are influenced by ornaments and fleurons from the ATF 1912 Type Specimen book. Satero was designed by Prof. Werner Schneider in 2007. Never before have we had so much written material to consume; this is the age of mass-communication. Unfortunately, the decision of which typeface to use is too often made lightly. The typeface is one of the most elementary means of language, and it can play a major role in a text's legibility and the amount of time the reader needs for it. The Satero Type System offers a high degree of legibility due to its dynamic and forms. The individual characters have been based on classical concepts. They are clearly made, and leave all unnecessary elements behind. The type works to create an environment of extreme legibility. Essential parts of the a, c, e, s, and r are to be found at the x-height line, which is the most important area of a line of text in determining legibility. The Satero Type System includes two members whose basic forms are the same. The Sans Serif members are more horizontally differentiated than common grotesques, which aides their legibility. The Serif design employs asymmetrical serifs, avoiding elephant feet" altogether. Their dynamic is progressive. This monospaced version of Galix was commissioned in 2037 by the space exploration company Earth2, as part of a major overhaul of their branding, which had used, since 2021, a generic sans serif (much like every other company). Many specialists in both design and space exploration suggested that this very rebrand started a chain of events that concluded with the invention of time travel in 2041. Contrary to the perceived notion put forward in popular Science Fiction, time travel is only (as of now) possible in the digital realm. It was considered fitting that included among the first files sent back in time should be the Galix Mono typeface, which was remade in OTF format to ensure that it would work with the technology available in 2019. Earth2, for all their insight, did not foresee that the release of the typeface in September of 2019, would lessen the impact of their rebrand. What kind idiots would rebrand a forward looking company with a font that was, by then, almost 18 years old? The subsequent lacklustre response to the redesign didn’t inspire the tidal wave of R&D funding Earth2 had anticipated, and the company went into administration in the summer of 2039, having never invented the time travel which made the release of Galix Mono in 2019 possible. Experts believe that the files sent back in time, although their very sending made it impossible for them to be sent, remained as “time relics” of the future that might have been.

DESCRIPTION Now my feelings about didones are more than evident. After some years of roman-abstinence (1) I present Heroe, an interesting combination of elegance and sensuality. Heroe, spanish for hero, takes some aspects of roman typefaces to the extreme like my main inspiration, the great Herb Lubalin, did in the majority of his works: Thins turned into hairlines, altered proportions (for display purposes), unique ball terminals, poetic curves and a graceful way of placing them together on a layout. Its classy style makes the font perfect for a wide range of uses. Imagine Heroe Inline (my favorite) dancing over a bottle of perfume; printed on the cover of a fashion magazine; lighting wedding invitations up. Its partner, Heroe Monoline, may help you to make more elaborated pieces of design. Just combine it with Heroe, or Heroe Inline and see how perfect they match. TECHNICAL The difference between Pro and Std styles is the quantity of glyphs. While Pro styles have all the decorative characters available, Standard ones have only the basic set of them. Heroe Monoline Big and Heroe Monoline Small were made for better printing purposes. If you need to print the font in small sizes, then your choice should be Small. Heroe Monoline has the same alternates (and open-type code) as Heroe Pro and Inline, plus some decorative ligatures. I saw a cool UT-Ligature on an old (maybe 70's or 80's) Texas Longhorns fan-shirt - it was in 3D and I wanted something like that with my own initials A and B to print it on a baseball hat. I started drawing it and when I was finished, I thought it might be nice to do the same for my officemates. I needed another G, T and K. After finishing that I thought it might be cool to do this for other people as well. Since the source of all the 3D glyphs is found in the regular ones which get moved by a 45 degree angle and then connected with lines , I first draw all the uppercase regular glyphs. The thing that followed was kind of an addiction: after finishing the uppercase letters, I wanted to add lowercase letters, after finishing the 3D letters, I thought it would be nice to have a fill version to layer with the 3D letters. Having a rough, woodcut version of the regular style would be cool, too. And the font is also pretty much suited to make a stencil version. When all this was done, I was interested on how the font would look like without the serifs and curves instead of the 45 degree angles, so I did the Longhorn Sans. Good to use for all sports-related designs, especially retro-style soccer/football shirts. Uppercase characters can be combined to form ligatures or logotypes.

I have chosen the name of this typeface after the "Sherbrooke" Street in Montreal, Canada, that I daily walked in for several months in the late 2005 while I was studying in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I do adore this street and also I adore the whole city of Montreal. This font comes in two different weights. "Sherbrooke" can be used in wide fields of publications such as the titles of novels, literary texts, short stories, dictionaries, books, newspapers, websites, and magazines. It is suitable for T-shirts, mugs, advertisement light boards in malls, subtitles of movies, logos, cans of foods, and medicines' names. The font is more attractive when it is printed in calendars and for displaying the contents and paragraphs of electronic encyclopedias and different online websites.
