Deep in the bowels of the earth a tortured creature tries to mimic the writings of mankind. It labors long and hard carving the letter forms on the walls of its cave. Many years later, rubbings where taken of these impressions and fashioned to create this hideous font. All kidding aside, with such a formal training in type design, it was not easy for me to create these ill-shaped letters. I kept wanting to smooth out the outlines. Anyway, it was a good exercise and we now have this antique heavy-weight.

I like making fairytale fonts, especially since I have three kids, who love books. And when I see one of my fonts on the cover, I can tell them: ‘daddy made this’. #prouddaddy ;-)

Working on the project, we wanted to develop a script that would harmoniously complement serifs or traditional sans-serifs and perfectly match them. Gentlemen’s Script is like an accessory in a gentleman’s wardrobe. It dilutes font traditions and adds brightness and dynamics to them. Despite the fact that the script was designed to be used as a complementary font, it has all the prerequisites to become the main character of your design story. It does not matter how you use it—Gentlemen’s Script easily adapts to reality and always works at the maximum level of efficiency. To make the script more harmonious and natural, we have drawn more than 60 ligatures.
