Vestigio m. Ing. & Fr. vestige: a trace, mark or visible sign left by something as an ancient city in a condition or practice vanished or lost. Vestigia is born by lost pieces of other typography, being then, Garbancera's descendant. Empresario Stephen F. Austin (1793-1836) is considered by many the “Father of Texas” for leading the first Anglo-American colony into the then-Mexican territory back in the 1820s. A few years later, while on a diplomatic mission to Mexico City, Austin was arrested on suspicion of plotting Texas independence and imprisoned for virtually all of 1834. During this time he kept a secret diary of his thoughts and musings—much of it written in Spanish. Austin Pen is my interpretation of Austin’s scribblings in this miniature prison journal (now in the collection of the wonderful Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, in the Texas city that bears his name). The little leather-bound book is filled with notes in ink and pencil—some of the faded penciled pages traced in ink years later by Austin’s nephew Moses Bryan. A genuine replication of 19th century cursive, Austin Pen has two styles: a fine regular weight, along with a bold style that replicates passages written with an over-inked pen. Each is legible and evocative of commonplace American penmanship of two centuries ago.

I have a lot of pencils, but when I need one, they seem to have grown legs and have disappeared! When I decided I wanted to create a pencil font, it took me a long time to find the right pencil for the job! Wandering Pencil is a nice, handmade font. It is a bit shaky, a bit rough, but it does have class and will look nice on your designs! Comes with diacritics and double letter ligatures for the lower case.

My kids like to read Donald Duck magazine. They have boxes full of old editions that we bought second hand. Most of the comics are well-used, but there are some in near mint condition. I thought it would be nice to create a font that mimics the lettering found in comics. Mint condition is a very nice, very friendly handmade comic book font that comes with extensive language support (including Vietnamese and Cyrillic), plus two sets of alternate glyphs.

Günther Zainer, (or Zeyner or Zeiner), was the first printer to operate in the city of Augsburg. He was active from 1468 to his death in 1478. In that single decade he was responsible for printing 80 works. Most of these editions were for the clergy but he also printed the first Calendar and large-scale illustrated book intended for the wider public. This font is based on one of his more interesting and peculiar fonts. And it has been enlarged to include over a 1,000 defined glyphs for modern use and also for historical purposes many glyphs recommended by the Medieval Unicode Font Initiative organization have also been included.

Syracuse is a font inspired by the typefaces of the "Arts & Crafts" designers of the early 20th Century. As such, it has a distinct "hand" look. In "Syracuse" you will find hints of Dard Hunter's work at the Roycrofters in East Aurora, New York, a little of the Art Nouveau style of 1900 Vienna, even a touch of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's design ideas in Glasgow, Scotland. The font was named for the city in New York where Gustav Stickley produced his Craftsman furniture. Syracuse owes a debt to all of these sources yet is original and different from any other "Arts & Crafts" font available.

Poozer is a hand drawn stencil font that started out as a doodle and ended up on a custom skate deck. It has a nice organic, painted feel. Definitely not your usual stencil font.

LaFarge is a typeface primarily inspired by the historic mosaic titling capitals found in the New York City Subway, designed by architect Squire J. Vickers and his staff between 1915-1927. These elegant but industrial signs are characteristic of early-20th century American architectural lettering, and show an evolution of the classical Roman capitals to lower contrast, bolder serifs, and more regular character widths. The majority of this lettering still remains in subway stations today, and though elements of the style vary from sign to sign, many carry the unique features that are reflected in LaFarge: high-waisted crossbars with angled serifs, elegantly curved “R” leg, and distinctive trapezoidal serifs. LaFarge expands this style into a lower case, taking cues from contemporary typefaces like Bookman, Cheltenham, and Della Robbia. A number of typographic features are included, such as small caps, ordinal indicators / superscript letters, arrows, and a set of borders inspired by early subway tile. The result is a fashionable, architecturally-minded typeface that is just as at home on the façade of a grand public building as it is on packaging, magazines, or the web. LaFarge works well in both text and display settings, remaining readable at small sizes but showing off its elegant details in larger uses. LaFarge has received the Communication Arts Typography Award, the ADC Annual Merit Award, is included in the 2020 STA 100, and was part of designer Greg Shutters’ winning portfolio in the 2019 Type Directors Club Ascender Awards.
