Ryo is a Japanese kana typeface design composed of hiragana, katakana and some punctuation marks. Available in four weights--extra light, light, regular and medium, Ryo Text has been specifically designed for use when producing text settings. Supplied in the cross-platform OpenType format, this special kana font can be used to supplement or replace the existing kana designs in existing Japanese fonts that contain full character sets. Creative professionals using the Japanese version of Adobe InDesign may use that program's Composite Font tool to easily combine Ryo Text with other typefaces.

This serif typeface is a real workhorse. It is a modern tool for text design: extremely legible and well shaped. Bandera Text Cyrillic has six weights with original italics. It catches attention in headlines of posters and magazines or makes reading comfortable in plain texts. Don't forget try Medium and Medium Italic faces for free. Bandera Text Cyrillic works well with Bandera Cyrillic (slab serif), Osnova Cyrillic (sans serif) and Bandera Display Cyrillic (contrast serif) fonts. Bandera is Spanish for ‘flag’. And Bandera is a symbol of Ukrainian fighting for freedom for many years.

Elida JNL was modeled from an image of some wood type for sale online. Although the type design most likely has its roots in the classic Bodoni, there were a few characters in the original wood type that had a bit of a square or block shape to them. Those characters were modified in order to keep with the overall roundness of the other characters. The name Elida JNL comes from a small town in New Mexico. Available in six styles: Regular, Oblique, Extra Condensed, Extra Condensed Oblique, Ultra Condensed and Mega Condensed.

The hand-lettered title, cast and crew credits for 1943's "Presenting Lily Mars" (starring Judy Garland and Van Heflin) inspired Pocatello JNL, but the name of this typeface has another Judy Garland connection. In the 1954 remake of "A Star is Born", Judy sings of being born in a trunk in a theater located in Pocatello, Idaho. The name of this Midwest town had such a great sound to it, so it was the perfect choice for the font's name. Available in regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique versions.

I'm always experimenting with new ideas for display fonts. I took the inside counter of a capital 'O', divided it into quarters, and applied an outline stroke to all the elements. By removing two quarters of the inside counter I had the beginnings for an interesting new design. Of course, the hard part was getting all the other letters in the alphabet to work well together using this approach. It's often a labor of love trying to shape an idea into a new typeface. I find the entire process stimulating and rewarding.

It is difficult to classify a typography that is made from different line fragments but precisely that is what makes it stand out from the rest, a construction that took months and multiple corrections that now make up a set of glyphs with is own identity based on the game between blacks and whites, standing out especially in large formats, posters, headlines, logos and titles. Creating the condensed version for the Brandon Text was the missing project to complete the Brandon series. Brandon Text was created as a companion to Brandon Grotesque. When we started to designed Brandon Grotesque Condensed we felt that there should also a condensed counterpart for small sizes; so we made Brandon Text Condensed. While a condensed typeface is not just a squeezed original, we took the Grotesque Condensed as a starting point for the Text Condensed version simultaneously we also kept an eye on Brandon Text to find the perfect missing variables.

Modern digital typography pushes many designers to try and achieve visual perfection with their lettering. In the days of wooden type, the premise was more in creating a font that "sold" the message (possibly, in part due to the lack of advanced tooling to achieve uniformity). In many styles of wood type (such as the one used as a model for Broadletter JNL), there are vast differences within the character design, weight and symmetry from letter to letter. This is now looked upon as "old fashioned" and "charming" - part of the appeal of this typeface.

The Tang family came to be, when I started studying fonts made for use in very small point sizes, like Bell Gothic. I studied the use of ink traps and went to town with them. Instead of just using them for their purpose: trapping ink to prevent the type getting blotted; I used them as a design feature. With those features Tang works very well in both headline and text use. I use it as a house type, and I've already seen it in a beer and cider labels.

Eleusis is a sans serif monospace display font. The typeface has a distinct style inspired by a combination of Naval, Industrial, Mid-Century Modern and ancient sacred geometry, designed to be bold and easy to read. The Eleusis name is derived from the legendary town (Ancient Greek: Ἐλευσίς), home of the Eleusinian Mysteries and birthplace of the great tragedian Aeschylus for its past and present. Contemporary Eleusis is one of the main industrial centers of Greece with refineries and shipbuilding. Eleusis is great for display work, quotes, invitations, posters, titles and headings.

Roanne is a sans serif family named after a town in France. This font family contains 2 width variations: Normal and Condensed, and all together counts 44 font styles. The evocative and original Retrofit is based on typefaces of the 1940s and 50s, which extolled the virtues of American products in glossy magazines for the new suburban consumer. One of my favorite blackletter fonts - Schwabacher - redrawn and redesigned, whereby I took care to stick to the original forms as close as possible. This font which has its roots in the 15th century represents at the most the uprising humanism in this period. To get access to all ligatures, it is recommended to activate both Standard and Discretionary Ligatures. By using the OT feature Stylistic Alternatives you get the historical German umlauts which are small e above a, o, u, A, O, and U. This font contais also oldstyle figures.

Novarese font is the work of designer Aldo Novarese. He created 218 typeface cuts but as he was writing his book, Alfabeta, he decided to include only those he considered indispensable. He divided his fonts into 4 categories and in the designing of Novarese, took the best characteristics of each group and combined them into this font. Ponzastura typeface was inspired by Aldo Novarese's Eurostile, but in this case, monolinear strokes took on contrast and stress. The classical appearance of Ponzastura, whose name is inspired by the Italian city Pontestura where A. Novarese was born, is more of a reaction and interplay. We named this font Scholz Secession. Fin-de-siecle Vienna, Austria is the source of this Jugendstil design from Schriftgiesserei Eduard Scholz. The original release was under the name Reklameschrift Secession. Most of the curve strokes look like commas to me. The letters are as soft and plump as the comforter on the bed I slept on in a Salzburg B&B many years ago. I was traveling with a college buddy and our next stop was Vienna. There a kind, young student named Hanna and her boyfriend took us under their wing. One of the places Hanna proudly showed us was Otto Wagner’s Majolika Haus, built in 1898, and only about 8 blocks from Secession Hall. Hanna explained to us that the style was called Jugendstil and represented Art Nouveau as interpreted within the framework of their culture. I even took a picture. After all, memories are part of who we are. Figures are old-style for text use. This font would not be my first choice for a spread sheet. Included are German ligatures ch (alt-0123) & ck (125), two period ornaments (135, 175) and lower case o and u with Hungarian long umlaut (215, 247)). A very likeable and easy-to-use font.
