Pasto is a fun and charming display type family of two styles with four weights each. 'Print' is a textured irregular stamp style, and 'Sharp' is a straightforward soft-edged type with clean strokes. It is clean, playful, and expressive, with a lightweight structure and fairly aired inner space. Pasto is perfect for display use and intended for medium and large settings. Still, it can be used in smaller point sizes for short sentences or words, providing a softer, delicate look. Pasto has three alternating alphabets that slightly differ from one another. Thanks to the Contextual Alternates, these alphabets are automatically replaced to avoid the same letterforms and textures appearing next to each other, creating a more spontaneous look when typing. This OT Feature is available for all the Sharp and Print styles. Some of Pasto's features are ligatures, stylistic alternates, numerators, fractions, special characters, currency symbols, and a glyph coverage that ensures extended language support.

Geza Script is a wild, calligraphic typeface. It has a foreign look that is hard to put a name on, it could be seen as Eastern inspired or as a forgotten script from the European 1500's. Use Geza Script in a urbane logo or graphic project you want to emit confidence. The font is created by Måns Grebäck and contains an alternate alphabet, ligatures and support for hundreds of languages.

Berlin Sans is based on a brilliant alphabet from the late ’20s, originally released by Bauer with the name Negro, the very first sans that Lucian Bernhard ever designed. Assisted by Matthew Butterick, David Berlow expanded this single font into a series of four weights, all complete with expert character sets, plus a dingbat font. Obcecada Sans & Serif are two geometric digital typefaces in regular and bold versions, very condensed and thin with a rounded finish on the horns and joints with a modern style. They include the Cyrillic and Greek alphabet. These fonts are the result of my obstinacy for very condensed fonts, in this case I have inclined to a very fine proportion with short ascending and descending that gives them elegance decó.

An unusual handlettered alphabet from the 1922 chapbook Modern Show Card Writing, by Joseph Bertram Jowitt, provided the pattern for this whimsical face. Haettenschweiler™ is a very condensed, very bold alphabet. Haettenschweiler was derived from a more condensed typeface, called Schmalfette Grotesk, first shown in the early 1960s in a splendid book called Lettera by Walter Haettenschweiler and Armin Haab. Haettenschweiler became popularized by the Paris Match magazine. Use this distinguished face in large sizes for headlines. Character Set: Latin-1, WGL Pan-European (Eastern Europe, Cyrillic, Greek and Turkish).

This unusual penscript is based on letterforms discovered in the classic Zanerian Manual of Alphabets and Engrossing. The economy and the sinuous quality of the pen strokes, combined with the severe backslant, suggest--without mimicking--the grace and beauty of fine Arabic calligraphy. The Opentype, Truetype and Windows Postscript versions of this font contain both the Windows 1252/ANSI character set and the 1250/Central European character set.

ITC Minska is the work of Carl Crossgrove, who used a combination of upper and lower case shapes together to create new letter forms. Crossgrove created unconventional yet immediately recognizable variations in two different alphabets, which cannot quite be classifed as upper and lower case in themselves. Clarinetist Milton ?Mezz? Mezzrow (1899-1972) was a remarkable jazz musician, as becomes evident upon reading his autobiography Really the Blues. His sharp tone and serpentine lines inspired English lettering artist and jazz lover Michael Harvey to create a condensed, oblique display typeface with the look of a chiseled alphabet in the musician's honor. Vertical formats such as book jackets and posters will be invigorated by Mezz as the display face.

Here’s a new take on the hand-lettered alphabet Oswald Bruce Cooper used in ads for the Packard Motor Company, later converted into a metal typeface by the Barnhard Brothers & Spindler foundry. This version has smoother outlines and an increased x-height, but retains all of the elegant charm of the original. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Core Sans is a simple and modern sans-serif font. Core Sans's Latin alphabet has good legibility and is designed simply. This set is inspired by the work of Vincent van Gogh. The alphabet captures the essence of van Gogh's handwriting style, using his extensive correspondence with his brother Theo as the primary reference. This lettering style presents a bold brush-stroke appearance which bears striking similarities to the painting style of Van Gogh. A full international charcter set is featured. The extras feature selected imagery from van Gogh's drawing and paintings.

An entry in the Palmer and Rey 1884 specimen book named, somewhat prosaically, Geometric Gothic provided the inspiration for this rectilinear romp through the alphabet. As apt as it is for a period piece of its time, it's also oddly and equally comfortable in a retro space-age environment. Both versions include complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1524 character sets, with localization for Moldovan, Romanian and Turkish.

A circa-1920s book on lettering entitled "Book of Alphabets" by Regan Publishing displayed an example of a Grotesk typeface (a popular style of sans serif of the time). This design was re-drawn digitally as Not So Grotesk JNL and is available in four varieties - regular, oblique, condensed and condensed oblique. Not So Grotesk JNL is the perfect companion font family to use alongside Simply Grotesk JNL.

Within the pages of an early-1900s instructional book on show card lettering was found a marvelous example of an alphabet that typifies the Art Nouveau movement of the era and served as the inspiration for Nouveau Riche JNL. Angular, artistic and reminiscent (in some ways) of ancient Greek lettering, this design has many unusual letterforms. Check out the interpretive K and R for the best examples of this art style.

This rollicking romp through the alphabet is based on an offering from the irrepressible M. Draim, seen in La Lettre dans le Décor & la Publicité Modernes, published by Monrocq Frères of Paris in 1932. Its animated and friendly demeanor will add personality to any headline it graces. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

The inspiration for MFC Westport Monogram was a heavily soiled vintage lettering & penmanship book which only listed this alphabet specimen as "Banker Tilted". The look and feel of this typestyle is reminiscent of old checks and cartography lettering styles, lending itself a wonderful sense of antiquity for any monogram or headline typeset with it. One of the text fonts showcased within the pages of the John Ryan Foundry (Baltimore, MD) specimen book from 1894 is a squared type face with rounded corners called “Geometric”. The original design has been updated slightly by substituting straight lines for the inner corner curves to add a small contemporary touch to a classic alphabet from the 19th century. Business Letter JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This version of Goudy Text is based on drawings from which Frederic Goudy based his Goudy Text typeface. However, there is a big difference between his original drawings (in The Alphabet and Elements of Lettering) and the subsequent metal type version, and my version maintains the greater warmth (and irregularities) of the original drawings. Goudy's Lombardy caps look especially nice when used as initial capitals with Goudy Text.

Victory Type is proud to present the release of another classic American typeface. Originally a wood-type, Barnum evokes circus wagons and wanted posters from the wild west. Rugged, rustic, old-fashioned and full of character, Barnum is a charming blast from the past and great for headlines and signage. This chunky slab-serif alphabet was digitized and expanded to include full punctuation and European characters by Noah Rothschild.

Linoscript was designed in 1905 by Morris Fuller Benton and displays the strong stroke contrasts of broken letter and the flowing quality of handwriting fonts of the 17th and 18th centuries. The font suggests a school book typeface common at the turn of the 20th century. Linoscript is suited for middle length texts and headlines, while its capitals can also be used as initials mixed with other alphabets.

Bebedot originated from doodles and scrabbles in notebooks; irregular forms very well might contain a style for an alphabet. Once used for an intro spread in Wired magazine (#6.04, April 1998): "To keep up you need the right answers. To get ahead you need the right questions". The name was inspired by a women clothing poster at the San Francisco bus stands. The dot is for the com that never came.

Majordomo font is a font that was based on a vintage unnamed alphabet I found in an old font book. I traced it and added serifs and weight. Majordomo is a person who speaks, makes arrangements, or takes charge for another. Typically, the term refers to the highest (major) person of a household (domo) staff, one who acts on behalf of the (often absent) owner of a typically large residence.

Eden Light, originally designed by the American type designer Robert H. Middleton in 1934, was commissioned by Publish magazine for a redesign in 1990. When I found a specimen of Eden Bold a couple years later, I decided to digitize it also. Subsequently, I created a Medium weight. Very squared and compact with thin slab serifs, Eden includes support of all European languages that use the Latin alphabet.
