This handmade looking brush font is inspired by the titles of the 1959 movie, Imitation of Life, by prolific film titles artist, Wayne Fitzgerald. The 'pastiche' of the font's name derives from the 'imitation' of the film's title, and from the imitation of the brush. OpenType enabled software can make Pastiche Brush feel even more handmade. There are alternates for every letter and number, and most punctation marks and symbols. Every letter has at least one alternate glyph, and more commonly used (in English at least) letters have up to three, so when contextual alternates are enabled, the font automatically cycles through glyphs in a pseudo-random manner. This means no double letter combination will ever contain two identical glyphs. Not only this, but it's highly likely the same word will look different elsewhere in the sentence. The contextual alternates feature also takes care of start and end forms of letters, for an even more handmade feel. This is a great font for headlines in fashion glossies, food packaging where an organic look is desirable, posters, perfume bottles, wine bottles... the list goes on. And with extensive language support, it's going to be a very usable addition to your display font repertoire.

Bambusa Pro is a sturdy expressive modern calligraphy family of 4 fonts: Regular, Bold, Basic and Ornaments. It owes its name to the bamboo pen that was used to draw all of the characters and swashes. The typical ink-strokes of the bamboo pen give Bambusa Pro a distinctively different appearance than dip pen calligraphy fonts like Salt & Spices Pro. Based on the lettering and graphic design of the Beat Generation era, Daddy-O was produced in conjunction with the Whitney Museum of American Art to coincide with the exhibition Beat Culture and the New America: 1950-1965. These way gone fonts and extras both capture and affectionately satirize the graphic design of the era. Package now features poet Rod McKuen in an updated version of the Beatsville album cover from 1959.

In spite of its angular appearance, Origami is composed almost exclusively of curves. Designer Carl Crossgrove derived the typeface from experiments in designing a low resolution type. The resulting face is reminiscent of Eastern European expressionist designers such as Oldrich Menhart and Vojtech Preissig. It is paired with an equally angular chancery italic. Origami works effectively for short blocks of text or at display sizes, while the capitals are especially suitable for titles.

The Algerian designer Taouffik Semmad created the fonts in 1997. Taouffik Semmad grew up speaking Algerian-Arabic dialect and French, studied Russian, and is now living in Montreal. This could perhaps explain his current passion, to "find a universal writing", which he admits is a Utopian idea. Created with brush and Chinese ink, the characters of ITC Atmosphere came from Semmad's hand but only after they were fully formed in his mind's eye.

Stalker is one of those necessary fonts in a designer's toolbox: Grungy sans serif caps that are most useful for entertainment project chores. GL Miraflores is a nice slab serif font with the name of a Spanish village. It is an elegant vintage resource perfect for decorations, but also works perfectly for plain text, as you can see in the previews. The origin of the inspiration to create it is in the free font 'Molesk' as you can see in the capital letters. Hope it will be really useful for your arts from now on.

The Vtg Stencil series of fonts from astype are based on real world stencils. The UK No. 76 design was derived from authentic stencil plates from Great Britain. Now here's a font that won't spoil anything! It's my ALL CAPS brush font with slightly uneven and quirky lines. Just enough to make font look lively and fresh, but not overdoing it. Every letter has 7 different versions, which automatically cycles as you type - and I have added an extra SMALL CAPS for each letter. Hesster Mofet is what I got after writing with an old and weathered calligraphic marker on textured paper. The characters were smoothened for a clean result, but since the original sketches had such a nice rough, edgy feel to them, they were also made into a complete font set. A couple of ligatures and a Hannibal Lecter reference were thrown in the mix as well. You can get both versions at a discount.

Tuscan X Condensed (whose actual name is Gothic Concave Tuscan Extra Condensed) was first produced in wood type by William H. Page & Company around 1872. The design is derived from a Gothic Condensed typeface, but with vertical stokes bowing inwards at the center. We modified the weight of the uppercase characters (since the original wood type has a lowercase much thinner than the caps) to harmonize with the lowercase when used digitally.

Abeille means bee in French. I am a little worried about the world's bee populations, as whole colonies collapse due to monoculture and pesticides. I have planted many bee-attracting plants in my garden and even put up a 'bee hotel' (which is full of tenants right now). Abeille is a hand drawn didone-ish font, kind of cute and happy, very legible and full of character. Abeille comes with a swarm of diacritics.

Breda is a Geometric Sans-serif; it is constructed from simple geometric shapes such as the circle and rectangle. This family of fonts starts from a very thin single-line face to a strong heavyweight, called Black Face.
