Images of ‘lost’ or forgotten signs from the past are on a number of sites all over the web. One in particular partially revealed a vintage sign for “J. Yormark Shoes" behind a barbershop sign at 15 – 8th Avenue in New York City. The sign remained until 2014. The stencil effect made by the formation of the stained glass letters inspired On Your Mark JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The font’s name is a play on the shoe vendor’s name… “Yormark”.

Inspiration of the typeface Dalloway comes from Virginia Woolf's novel "Mrs. Dalloway". Some calligraphic features are incorporated to add humanity to this typeface. Hyldemoer (in Nordic folklore) is a tree spirit, or nymph, who lives in elder trees. H.C. Andersen also wrote a story about Hyldemoer (‘The Little Elder-Tree Mother’ in English). Saga is a rather narrow typeface designed for a typeface competition arranged by a Scandinavian graphic arts magazine. It had to be based on ancient runic characters, that's the reason of some peculiar angular shapes. Saga is not att all a new runic typeface, but a usable one when the columns are narrow. The name is taken, of course, from the Nordic mythology. But saga" in the meaning of "story" contributed to the decision about the name. Saga was released in 1992.

I have never stayed at a boarding house myself, but I’ve heard some horror stories. I was lucky to see this building from the beginning (2009) growing up (2013) That time when I was working and living here. I was always amazed by the design and how huge it is every time I took a look at it while driving or walking on the Erasmus Bridge. When I was going to work or just hiking around the city. It has a special meaning and message for me: I started creating fonts in my free time in 2010 when I came to this city to work. I was factory worker, dishwasher etc. I grew together with this amazing construction from brick to brick, step by step. By the time its construction finished, I was able to quit my day job and become a full time freelance designer.
