A Tartufo is a truffle in Italian. I have to admit, I have never eaten one, so I couldn’t really tell you if they’re any good. I suppose they are, but you’ll have to find that out for yourselves! Tartufo font is a bit of a weird font. It was hand made with a rollerball pen on some very expensive French paper. As I was drawing each glyph, I figured I might as well include Cyrillic and Greek. Tartufo is not a text font - I’d use it for packaging, posters, book covers and T-shirts. Comes with a whole bunch of diacritics!

Here's a fun collection of cute, weird, crazy and goofy drawings. They are all drawn within a box, which makes it easy for you to align them in a grid, or perhaps make your own colouring book or picture lottery. The shapes of the drawings are typically simple: triangles, circles, squares etc. I use drawings like these in my work as a kindergarten teacher. These simple, but yet appealing drawings, are a great inspiration for kids (especially the ones who never draws or are insecure on how to draw) to start drawing themselves, or as a kickstarter for their imagination!

Glarestha is a modern high-contrast display font with bright positive character. Clean forms and a bit curly letter ends creates a friendly mood in any designs. Plastilin type family of two weights obtained its name due to the soft, curved, stroke terminals of characters (J, K, L, R and others) and the little pointed serifs, as if extruded from stroke plastic mass. The character set has a lot of additional Latin and Cyrillic ligatures, as well as several alternate letter forms. Plastilin was designed for ParaType by Oleg Karpinsky in 2005. It is for use both in display setting and short text passages. In 2008 the author added two weights (Light and Black) and improved letterforms of some characters.

A 1930s hand-lettered poster for the play "The Cradle Will Rock", put on by the WPA (Works Progress Administration) Federal Theater Project is the source material for Talent Show JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions. Originally, the "R" and "L" had fish hook bends, but those two letters were revised to be more traditional in structure. The obvious Art Deco influence, along with what sign painters refer to as "stovepipe lettering" (straight lines with curved [bent] corners) is a simple, clean approach to retro-influenced titling.

A monospaced companion of the Syke type family. Fourth is a contemporary roundhand script with a classic feel. It draws inspiration from classic Americana – baseball scripts, sign painting and branding. The family consists of seven weights with ornament extras for good variety in layout and logo development. The forms are rational and refined for consistency and legibility. Contextual alternates are included for smooth initial and ending forms. Stylistic alternates are available for the commonly substituted forms; s, r, l, f, k, and z. Fourth also features Swash capitals, swash lowercase, underlines and catchwords for custom styling.

Yngreena is a serifed typeface with calligraphic origins. In updating it in 2011, I began to add alternative letters and reached the point where it made sense to create an alternative family of faces rather than include all the alternatives as part of an OpenType font. The letters K, R, V, W, Y, f, g, k, t, v, and w are tamer in Yngreena Alt. As a result, though it is still a decorative text face, Yngreena Alt is better suited for lengthier blocks of text than is the original Yngreena face.

Velour is an elegant display typeface, with thin, bracketed serifs. The typeface’s main features are the curved crossbar on ‘A’ and ‘H’, the long, sophisticated legs of ‘K’ and ‘R’ including an alternative ‘k’ automatically substituted in appropriate places, providing a consistent flow of text and a romantic feel. The typeface comes with a beautiful set of both standard and old-style numerals, two different ampersands and alternates with less complicated letterforms. Velour is available in 6 weights, from Thin to Bold, and supports Western, Central and South Eastern European languages.

Display Explicit is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display, headline, logotype, branding, and similar applications. Display Explicit has an uppercase alphabet located under the shift+character set keys with alternate characters for A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, M, N, P, Q, R, and W located under the option+character and shift+option+character set keys. Under the character set keys are condensed uppercase characters. There are sets of numbers matching each of the uppercase sets, and punctuation.

By the late 1920s, lettering and design had already begun to feel the influences of what would become the Art Deco Movement. The sheet music for the 1927 song "Without You Sweetheart" had its title hand lettered in a block style letter with rounded corners – with the exception of the 'S' and 'R' in "Sweetheart"; reflecting design elements of both styles. For consistency, those letters were changed to fit the rest of the design, and the result is the digital font College Nouveau JNL, available in both regular and oblique versions.

Aurelac - is a font that was inspired by the cover of the book "Learn to sew" by authors Egorova R. I. and Monastyrnaya V. P. This is a contrasting font that has unusual serifs and combines elegance and brutalism. Many uppercase letters are bold, while lowercase letters are lighter, which gives a more unusual effect to the text and the beginning of the sentence. Waldo is a bold, stencil-focused display typeface loosely based on a 1973 science fiction movie poster for "The Battle For The Planet of The Apes". Narrow rectangular slots cut into heavyweight forms create a stylish and energetic font ideal for apparel, books, film titles, packaging and posters. Included in the font are over 400 characters with four unique styles; Black, Stencil, Outline, and Shadow. Opentype features consist of digital numerals, tabular figures, numerators, denominators and fractions. Other features cover alternate lowercase f and r, with language support for Western, South and Central Europe.

Fruitos is a funky font family with loads of interlocking ligatures. Fruitos is great for packaging, posters or any display use. Fruitos is divided into two families: Fruitos R (regular) is bouncy and has wider “serifs” whereas Fruitos S (straight) makes clear blocks and has straight forms. Both versions have a standard fill version, an Inline version and a Line version that can be used together with the standard version for colourful inline. A 1942 photograph showing the exterior of the famous Hollywood restaurant Sardi’s and it’s unusually lettered sign was the inspiration for Fine Food JNL. Classically Art Deco, the Sardi’s sign had an ‘S’ looking like an inverted ‘J’ with a flat tail, a traditional ‘A’ replaced by a triangle and the ‘R’ composed of a ‘D’ with a diagonal extension. These elements were balanced against more traditional [but complementary] characters to retain the novel charm of the original signage. Fine Food JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Globe Grotesk is modern art deco inspired sans serif. Its root goes to beginning of last century into Czechslovakia. The design is inspired in Universal Grotesk – font made by unknown designer. There are some really unique details in the font, especially letters a, g, u, E, F, R, & and many more. It primary intended for display usage or rather shorter texts. The original is extended with full latin support, ligatures, small caps, alternates, inktraps, oldstyle figures and many more features necessary for contemporary type design. Also true italics are no doubt in this font.

What if Platt R. Spencer and Charles P. Zaner were born in mid-20th Century? What if they were fans of The Beatles or The Mamas & Papas? Beatle is what those masters would have made. Letters shouting for peace, like a true hippie does, with a lot of elegance. With Beatle I wanted to mix the delicacy of engrossers script with the exuberance of flower power. The result is a font designed with freedom, full of provocative alternates and fat tails. Enjoy it and of course, let it be.

An original typeface designed for ParaType in 2004 by Armenian designer Manvel Shmavonyan. Based on the lettering created in 1970s by outstanding Armenian type designer Henrik Mnatsakanyan (1923-2001) of the same name. In Armenian ‘Haverj’ means ‘Eternally’. The face resembles many regular text serif fonts but elements like serifs and terminals make it eccentric and a little bit funny. The shape of diagonal legs in capital K and R resembles book lettering of the 1950s—60s. Using it in text, advertising and display typography may lead to surprising effects.

Thorowgood was originally released by the Stephenson Blake typefoundry in the UK. The types were first cut by the English typefounder Robert Thorne, predecessor of William Thorowgood, and first shown in his specimen books in the early nineteenth century. The fat face was revived in roman (1953) and italic. The S and the C appear to be smaller than the other capitals. Most serifs are flat and thin horizontals. In the italic the main strokes of h, k, m, n, and r are curved inwards at the foot.

The design process of this font was rudely interrupted on August 11th, 2015, when my first child, Hazel, was born. Thinking up names for fonts can be tricky, as can thinking up names for babies, so when the font was finally finished, it seemed like a good idea to kill two birds with one stone, and here it is: Hazel Script. Hazel Script is a finely crafted, elegant, connecting script. I wanted to make something unique, and to this end, the contrast in the face is not based on any ductal logic, or the writing of some imagined tool. The thick parts of glyphs are purely aesthetic devices, placed to give the otherwise monoline font an interesting rhythm. The over-sized upper case letters follow a mid-century lettering skeleton, and swash forms can be used judiciously to add spice to the text. Hazel Script works "out of the box" but to really get the best out of it, use OpenType-savvy programs to unlock a world of swashes, alternates, ligatures and the like. In detail, the features are as follows: Swash - alternate forms for many glyphs Stylistic Sets - 1: script r, 2: alternate s, 3: script z, 4 and 5: more swash options, 4,5,6 and 7: access to alternate ampersands (the font boasts six to choose from!), 8: connecting forms for K, L, R, X and Z. Localised forms - ij digraphs for Dutch, and a script lslash for Polish. Standard ligatures - a mixture of ligatures, including the 'percent off' (just type "% off") and a heart that connects to the ends of words (type "<3") Automatic fractions Ordinals - a and o for Spanish etc. but also s,t,r,d,h and n for English 1st 2nd and 3rd etc. Contextual alternates - automatically places special start and end glyphs where necessary. Hazel Script would look great in glossy magazines set large, or would make a slightly unorthodox choice for wedding stationery, birth announcements, letterheads...

Roc is a sans serif grotesk inspired by American wood types from the end of the 19th century. With nine weights in five widths, this family contains 45 fonts in total. The character set supports Western and Central European languages, as well as Turkish. Roc Grotesk comes in a range of five widths: Compressed, Condensed, Normal, Wide and ExtraWide, in order to cover a wide scope of applications. Although the styles at both ends of each range are made in their most pronounced form in terms of width and weight, they are not taken to such extremes as to become absurd, and are quite usable in display settings. The Normal width keeps all its nine styles in proportionally similar widths. The Compressed width, however, is deliberately made to be disproportionate, so that every style takes the least possible horizontal space. That is why the contrast between Compressed Thin and Compressed Heavy style is substantial. As the weights progress from Thin to Heavy, the stroke contrast becomes more prominent. It is intentionally exaggerated in heavier weights, which is particularly apparent in the uppercase E and R of the Black and Heavy style. Roc has a large x-height and relatively short descenders and ascenders. No uppercase letter descends below the baseline, so the lines of an all-caps text can be packed tightly on a poster or a headline. The Regular style is somewhat generously spaced, as it is most likely to be used for setting longer passages of text. Its Bold counterpart is spaced in such a way that the width of the text column will be similar to the text set in Regular. Tabular figures in these two styles have exact matching widths, so for example, you could emphasize one row of numbers in a data column without visually disrupting the vertical order of the table. The lowercase g and r have alternatives to accommodate what most designers expect from a typical Grotesk typeface. The single-story g and the cut-off r are accessible via the OpenType feature.
