Upperclass was a font I created back in 1995. I had a brainstorm about the uppercase letter “A”. I noticed that the cross bar for the letter A is always toward the bottom, what if I moved it toward the top. The result is a unique font, a great addition to your font collection.

A modern black-letter, so to speak. Composed of a few basic elements with a wide-quill ductus. Faber Fraktur was based on the idea that it must be possible to create a modern black-letter type. The typeface is ”constructed“ according to the same principles as a script without serifs: as few varied basic forms as possible, omission of frills which make the type difficult to read and repetition of similar forms. The typical contrasting strokes of the original handwritten black-letter script are retained nonetheless. The elements of this typeface were even pre-formed with the quill. All characters are reduced to their basic skeleton. The fanciness and manifold ”breaks“ or fractures typical of black-letter typefaces are considerably reduced to just a few essentials. Faber Fraktur is a very legible type perfectly suitable for long texts. It does not appear nearly as foreign and archaic as the old black-letter fonts. The capital letters especially have a charm of their own radiating a kind of playfulness in spite of their severe form.

Red began as an experiment, and turned into a larger project. Most super-black type designs are constructed of extremely simple and geometric elements. Philadelphian is a revival of a MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan font from 1867 by the same name. The regular version with shadow outline was the only style that was offered in 1867. We've taken the original design further by creating two additional weights of medium and bold plus plain black versions. The medium and bold weights are unique because only the horizontal strokes increase in thickness while the vertical strokes remain the same in each weight. Philadelphian Nite is the plain black version of this font family, Nite is the casual spelling of the word Night meaning dark or black. Wood Type Calendar JNL is a set of components for making monthly calendar pages. Based on a set of vintage wood type numbers, the dates 1 through 31 are found on the "A-Z" and "a-e" keys; the 23/30 and 24/31 ligatures are on the "f" and "g" keys. On the "h" and "i" keys are blank outline and solid blocks for balancing the calendar layout. The "j" through "u" keys have the names of the months, and the "1" through "7" keys contain the days of the week.

Monthly Calendar JNL is a companion font to Calendar Blocks JNL, and features classic wood type lettering and numerals from the 1800s. The days of the week are on the lower case “f” through “l” keys, while the names of the months are found on the “m” through “x” positions. An open rectangle is on the lower case “y” key, and a solid black rectangle is on the “z”.
