The design of the Jeunesse font family derives from a study of primers which the designer undertook earlier in his career. Jeunesse was designed with the intention of combining excellent legibility and character recognition with the ability to create compact, distinctive words and lines while maintaining basic flourishless letterforms. The sans serif style is pre-dominant in this design, but serifs or rather parts have been added where necessary, mostly at the top left hand parts of the characters, to aid readability. Use Jeunesse as a text and display face. There are also fully sans serif and slab serif versions available which can be used on their own or mixed with each other and the parent fonts.

Bill Rigney, an old job printer in my home town, established his shop in 1896, closed it in 1900 to take a steady job, stored the equipment in a large shed, and reopened for business upon his retirement in 1950. Violinist is a vintage script font. As the name suggests, this font is inspired by classic billboards/boards. Dave West released the Behemoth Semi-Condensed font in 1960. With nineteenth-century wood-cut influence PL Behemoth Semi-Condensed is an example of the revival of slab serif styles, popular in the sixties and seventies.

In the 1930s, it was popular to take day-trips by train to the seaside in the British Isles. Many posters were designed by the various regions to advertise these excursions; it is from one of these posters that Inverness was created.

FDI Triumph revives Albert Auspurg’s “Triumph” typeface originally released in 1929 by the type foundry Ludwig Wagner in Leipzig. The forgotten design was carefully digitized from the original wood type font and extended to cover the Western codepages Win 1252 and Mac Roman.
